Question about the clown's intoxication effect.
I was under the impression that while intoxicated, survivors could not fast vault or sprint and yet many times during my games I throw the bottle and the survivor's get hit with the bottle or run into the gas but they are still able to fast vault.
Is this a bug that hasn't been addressed yet or did the devs word the status effect poorly?

What else did u expect coming from The Clown other than a JOKE!?

If the vault animation started before they get gassed, its still going normally.
You have to intoxicate them before they reach the vault.2 -
From what I have noticed it doesn't affect the ability to vault at full speed on slows their movement speed. I may be wrong as I tend to try and use the gas to corral survivors to a path I want them to go to. Most will look behind and dodge the bottles pretty well. Not too dissimilar to the way they would play against a Huntress.

Yea it's a bit weird, I also play clown and many times I anticipate the vault and throw the gas before the survivor reaches the vault but they still fast vault anyway despite not being in the animation before the gas.
Chester mentions that if they're already in the vault animation before gassed then they still go fast but situations like what you mentioned do happen from time to time.
One theory I noticed although unlikely is that there's a slight delay before the full intoxication effect applies and if they get gassed 1 second before making the vault then it's still be fast but if gassed for 2 or 3 seconds then it's be a slow.
doesn't happen all the time but when it does it's incredibly annoying (especially if it's on the groaning storehouse loop) and perhaps the devs have already noticed and will make a slight adjustment soon to make it a bit more consistent, maybe try asking about this on the next dev Q&A.
