Roadmap vs Playtesting

Just want to know what everyone thinks. Is it more important for new content to be released on time? Or would you rather they delay the content in favor of playtesting it in order to catch major bugs that break the game?

I think additional playtesting would be great, but I don't think they should intentionally "delay" features beyond their advertised release because (a) it would breed dissatisfaction within the community and (b) they only have so much time to do everything they want to accomplish, so delaying one thing in order to spend more time on it will in turn delay another project that they would otherwise have been doing in that time, and the whole thing starts to snowball.

Instead, I would be happy if the roadmap were just a bit more spaced out. For example, having three chapter releases every year, instead of four, released every four months instead of three. This would hopefully mean more time spent in development and thus a better and more polished final product, with possibly less follow-up bug fixes and balance adjustments needed.

Of course, money has to enter into it somehow. It's possible that the current roadmap is designed the way it is because that's what suits their business model. I imagine that a lot of BHVR's income comes from DLC sales, so pushing out DLCs more regularly makes sense. On the other hand, one could argue that better DLCs, even if they're less frequent, would encourage more people to buy them and thus make up the difference financially. I'm not an economist, nor do I have access to BHVR's financial data, so I can't really say for sure which solution would be better for the company and the game overall.

Just like with any game release, i prefer a delay if the intention is to make the games better.

And i'm certainly not thrilled with this bug (of course you know the one) being in the game, it really needs a hotfix.

But i'm usually happy with more content in general.

I guess i was kinda vague on what I meant by delay. Spacing out the roadmap is kinda what I had in mind too. However, I don't think it would hurt the game if they had delayed Yui and Oni. I mean, sure there's a new survivor but atm I don't really wanna play her with the bugs and all. As for the killer, we all know what playin killer around launch day is like lol. What i'm tryin to say is I was playin DBD on the weekend and now i'm not. Had the patch been held off for another week (or even a few days) I'd still be playin.
