The old SWF was fine, The new SWF is awful.
With the old SWF the game would look for a killer with the SWF rank average.
The new one looks for the same rank as the highest survivor.
This is punishing solos just for joining the wrong game. I'm rank 1 I shouldn't be playing with people who just installed the game. High rank solos hate it, the person that just installed hates it because they're getting matched with red rank killers and red rank killers hate it because the games are too easy.
The old way was fine.

But green ranks killer were faced with high rank survivors in theirs swf. The matchmaking is busted, I'm pretty sure they are lying about this "6 ranks hard cap", that's why you're matched with brown ranks.

True if this was the way it worked when I started I probably would have just uninstalled.

They should make deranking being harder, make ranks meaning a lot more and be more of a permanent measure of skill instead. If someone wants to bully baby killers with friends then all of them can derank or buy another copy of the game. Nothing will stop them.
New system is screwing up solo ques and genuine newbs that want to play with their friends.

Don't worry, they just fixed the "bug" were you can see ranks in lobbies, so you won't know the rank of the randos. /s
Tbf, they should make it so that 4 and 3-person SWF are matched according to the highest rank, while 2/2 and 2/1/1 should work with the previous averange-rank principle. Knowing BHWR, if they did it, this would cause an issue with the matchmaking that makes 3 killers spawn into the match.

So dumb that they fixed it because people have to dodge swf at all times now because they are worried about a red rank bringing like 2 20s wholl get destroyed by the red rank killer. Theres a giant skill gap and the killer needs their pips so theyll be trying their best most likely. (Obviously the red rank should know not to bring in 2 20s considering his rank but i digress).
