Do pallets destroyed by the entity with Spirit Fury count for the Property Damage Rift Challenge?

I just started Tome III and see the Property Damage Rift Challenge, which is "Damage a generator or destory a dropped pallet 30 time(s)."
Does anyone know if pallets destroyed automatically by Spirit Fury count towards this challenge? I was thinking of running it with Brutal Strength if so.

No, unless you destroy the pallets yourself than it doesn't count.
The same goes for if Surge counts as damaging generators to that challenge... it doesn't count since the perk itself isn't assigned as "damaging generators" like it is with the Killers normal means of breaking said pallets and generators.

No, it doesn't count. Same with Surge, surge doesn't add to the challenge either.
