anyone else just... tired of being hit through pallets?
since oni it feels worse, iv clipped probably about 15 hits that shouldnt have connected. how long will this go on for? 100 ping games feel like 500 with these hits

Getting the same results with 50 ping. Every time it happens I consider my life choices and conclude that I simply shouldn't have been born into this world.

Dedicated servers seem to be fond of rewinding back half a second for killers, keep in mind that Oni's MeGa DoNk has a larger hitbox than most attacks too.

word... the game feels like 2 tenses of time. might as well be single player

Haven't really noticed it if I'm honest. Although, occasionally the killer will land a bogus hit on me.

Hit through pallets and after I've vaulted through a window and moved away or am half way falling down, just to give hit.
It feels like cheese and just makes me want to leave a game.
3 -
Haven't had an issue on consoles.

I get hit on the other side of walls a lot, if I run hooked around the corner. Seems like I should have been safe, but I'll have to start recording it.

Maybe drop the pallet sooner? Going for a stun is where they become risky, you want your 1000 stun points then you're risking the animation pulling you into the hitbox of the swing. You can always put the pallet between you and the killer, stunning is where it gets risky, as it should be.

Yeah tired since 2018

console isnt on servers no?

How dare you talk sense.
Pallets must be 100% safe with an instant 10m stun the second you press space.
4 -
easy to say when most hits are through pallets that survivors have JUST ran through and they pressed space instantly.
1 -
That's not really fair though. Stunning should be risky but getting hit after the killer gets stunned makes no sense and I shouldn't have to throw the pallet early to avoid that.
1 -
You mean when the killer is in range to hit them? Nooo, how could hits happen then? In fact, most of these hits happen because survivors think they can juuuust squeeze a 7th loop out of this particular pallet and it turns out it was more like 6.95 loops of distance. Make a mistake and you can get punished for it.
2 -
Trading hits is a thing. It takes time for the pallet to fall. If you don't have enough of a lead then well... You go down.
Also if you suspect the killer will hit you through the pallet just don't pull it down. You can leave it up for later and in a best case scenario the killers early swing wouldn't be enough to catch you since you're still moving at running momentum and not pallet throwing momentum. Either you get to use the pallet for later or you don't get hit. Win win.

Helpful troll.
Yes, running to a pallet for the first loop,. realising you can't make it, and so putting it right down, but they get the hit despite not even being near the pallet or having an animation for a swing. Yes, totally the survivor's fault.
People with an axe to grind like you totally disgust me..
4 -
Seriously, what do you think the fix is then? Pallets should slowly move towards survivors in case you ever get caught out of position and can't make it through one in time?
You weren't close enough or didn't react fast enough to get the drop without taking a hit. Move on and play safer next time.

beautiful bait kiddo
3 -
It's way too obvious that you only play one side. The number of BS hits I've gotten on survivors is astounding.
The fix is pretty obvious: stop forcing dedicated servers on us when they're blatantly not ready and only getting worse.

No, because
I'm the killer
0 -
excuse me? LMAO god u entitled killers are laughable. someone swinging 2 sec late and still hitting a survivor isnt senseable at all. thank god no one listened to people like you the servers would never get fixed
2 -
"ANYONE WITH AN OPINION DIFFERENT TO MINE NEVER PLAYS THE OTHER SIDE!"
Dedicated servers aren't to blame, and even if they were there's always going to be a delay between the killer and survivor player, and guess what? That's not ALWAYS going to favour the survivor (like grabs that magically turn into swings as the survivor runs away.)
Hits like these have been possible long before dedicated servers. Yes, dropping a pallet puts you in an animation that puts you in the center of the far side of the pallet. Yes, the stun time is not the instant you press the space bar. Yes, you can take a hit. No, pallets don't have an imaginary forcefield that prevents the killer attacking while you make up your mind whether to drop it or not.

I'm tired of being hit through windows.
After I vaulted it and stepped 2 seconds away from the window.

This is not about 'timing', it is about the inconsistencies in server ping. What WOULD have stunned the killer with good timing actually DOESN'T, because of the server latency.
So now there's a problem with having to waste pallets because you often can't be sure that another loop could be made because of the inconsistent server ping. So you can risk the loop, but be punished for not guessing whether the ping is good enough or not and get hit through the pallet.

Most of the time I see a survivor get hit through a pallet is because they overestimate how much they could loop or they camp the pallet.
I've rarely just hit someone who was casually running for the pallet and slammed it down
1 -
Happens to me a lot and its really annoying
2 -
'What WOULD have stunned the killer with good timing actually DOESN'T, because of the server latency.'
It might have something to do with it but I don't think its just server latency, if you see some people's comments they mention that they have varying pings. I think what explains it better is the devs coding and how they allow some kind of 'cross over' I guess you could call it. Basically to the advantage of killers.

Everyone keeps saying these issues are related to latency (and that's true) but I remember the hit detection being a lot better in 2017 and it got really bad around the time the clown was released.
1 -
Honestly, it's usually a case of the animations not lining up to player's expectations. Basically, if you're in any way engaged with the animation of pallet dropping or vaulting, even the very last milliseconds, the hit will count.
Thing is as a survivor I've been hit through pallets several times but expecting not to. But as killer, I'm always 100% certain if I will strike someone going through a pallet or not. This means it's less about the actual reliability of when you'll get hit/hit someone and more about perspective and optics.
Like a previous comment said, it's almost always survivors overestimating their chances. 🤷♂️

It rarely happens to me if I'm playing survivor on console since I throw pallets early as killer it's pretty rare

Whenever I play Killer and land bulls*it hits on survivors I always feel bad about it :(
2 -
The people saying "drop the pallet sooner" or "just bad timing / bad survivor" isn't really fair. Yes you can probably drop the pallet earlier if you were already running that loop and didn't try to just make it there from elsewhere. But that's not the point.
The point is the delay between survivor and killer is getting you hit when you should've been fine. The killer is actually closer to you than you think and that's huge in a game where each player needs to know exactly where the others are in precise time. This is especially noticeable when a killer swings through pallet and ends up on the opposite side and then teleports back to the side they're supposed to be on.
Killers get priority. If the hit happened on their screen, it will go through to the survivor even if you shouldn't have gotten hit. This is fine for killer but also very weird and sometimes wonky because they're no longer the host. All we can hope for are better and more consistent servers, otherwise we'll just have to deal with it.
But yes, I'm tired of getting hit through pallets...but windows are far worse. They're more noticeable than pallet hits and from my muscle memory I'm getting hit over windows and loops that I've made countless times back when it was P2P. I'm not getting away with those now.
0 -
That's correct, no Dedicated Servers on console. I had suspected that was the issue.

The pallet hits aren't as awful for me but the window hits are ######### insanely bad right now. I've been hit like 5 steps away from a window. It's ridiculous to a point where window vaults are useless in some games
0 -
Getting hit through a pallet is your fault for not throwing, and going for another loop.
Also, grabs. You guys don't even understand that pain unless you are 50/50 players.
0 -
Just had lots of close calls (as survivor) but nothing connected allowing me to slide over a pallet and escape via the hatch. Feels good to play on console. No dedicated servers + good killer ping = no frustration.
0 -
Are... are you dumb? The guest of a lobby have no control over how the ping appeared in the lobby and how it acts in game. Me getting hit through a pallet isn't always my fault.
0 -
Lmao 1, rather than argue you immediately go to insults.
And 2, it IS your fault. You can throw pallets early rather than go for that extra greedy stun loop. That IS why you got hit, poor gamesense or awful internet.
0 -
I'm talking about not being greedy and looping normally. No kidding your most likely gonna get hit through a pallet playing greedy, unless the killer is literally your next door neighbor.
0 -
Personally when playing survivor I haven't had too much of a problem with this, in the majority of cases when I drop a pallet early enough I get the stun but don't get hit, but when I do get hit it's mostly because I've dropped the pallet too late. There have been those occasions though where the hitboxes seem very whack though, both when playing survivor and killer, it does seem like this has increased just a bit for me as well. I've noticed the rare bs hit at vaults as well.
0 -
Really? Happens to me alot
0 -
I haven't ever had issues, well, not yet at least.
0 -
Sounds like people just want the pallet vacuum back.
0 -
the one thing I don't understand is the hitbox of the survivor when they are sliding over the pallet I've gotten some hits on those that clearly should have just missed
