So Devs... What Happened To Console Optimization?
So after a month of my friends asking me to play the PS4 version of dbd with them for old times sake (I moved to PC about a year ago) I finally caved in and holly s*it this is probably one of the worst ports of a video game I have ever seen. Every update seems to make the games frames even more horrendous. I played 10 matches with them and I kid you not it felt like I was playing an early PS3 game. Half the time while trying to evade the killer I ended up stuttering into a wall. Killers like Doctor, Oni and Demo are stuck at 15 FPS. Bloodlust causing the frames to dip to 0. Sensitivity being super low (though I know they are looking into this). I get that most of the player base are PC players but consoles do have quite a large player base too believe it or not.
If the devs are considering cross platform then they need to sort the performance of the console versions first. Can you imagine a PC player going up against a player who drops below 30fps 50% of the time?
Instead of adding buttloads of cosmetics and releasing DLC how about you spend a month or two doing the following 2 things?
- Fix the countless amounts of bugs in this game
- Improve console performance before it drops to PS1 performance
Believe it or not but this is not an attack, I personally love this game and I just want to see it improve. Too many games that I loved failed because the devs would focus on the wrong thing and I don't want the same to happen to dbd. :)

I like to see people talking about this. We need to talk more about it. The framerate is awful.

Yeah I notice that too. My mate sent me a video on his phone and his gameplay looked a lot better than mine, his looked like a constant 30fps and mine looks like it's hitting 20fps. It's a bit strange.
And don't get me started on hag too. It's so annoying teleporting to your traps and the games frames dip to 0 XD

To me it honestly feels like console players get swept under the rug and BHVR don't care about them which is a shame as my console mates love this game despite it's flaws.

@Peanits is there any update on console optimization? I remember it being announced last year but nothing has changed yet. I don't expect the changes to happen overnight but it would be nice to know if any progress is being made.

I think they said a while back that they had progress but it wasn't anything to report on. Something like, well, we fixed this and this and we are working on this.

I have noticed in some updates (when I would take a break from playing the PC version to play with PS4 friends) that it would run fairly decently but then another update would come out which would reverse the changes.

i have huge stuttering as survivor while Oni is killer. When he get his demon thing, it feels like everything freeze. It takes even multiple seconds to start an action cause the bar is not appearing.

The last update actually made Hawkins playable so I'm happy about that. Survivor gameplay feels a lot better but killer still feels the same. Can't wait until I can play Demogorgon and not drop frames when I use shred. That'll be great.

Playing doctor is really bad too, especially if you have that cosmetic equipped that fills his weapon with electricity

Why other developers make optimization very quick and DBD don't. I mean i know that's difficult and all but take that long is ridiculous. Honestly i think you should stop releasing content until you fix it. I know BHVR won't because you told us that they like releasing new contents.
As dedicated servers this month he will be one year since you started working on dedicated servers. They are still not release or bug free after one year. I mean rainbow six DS took one year but have no issues. F13 has Dedicated servers since launch on PC. But has come last year on consoles. There were announced in may 2018 and release in september and the team was smaller than BHVR team.
