What's your guy's opinion on this idea.
What if DBD had a VOIP option but the killer could hear the survivors if he was nearby, and the range in which you can be heard increases depending on how loud you actually are.
But now someone is going to say "we'll just use dicord" but here's the idea, if you have any program using a microphone providing signal dbd uses that microphone at all times and can't be muted. So you may he able to talk to each other at all times, but the trade off the killer will be able to hear you talking.
Now this does open up room for toxicity and people just being an absolute frustration, you can allow the killers to mute the option to hear survs if they don't want to participate with that.
Then you could do things like add in walkie talky items and stuff so you can talk from anywhere! The trade of being communication or a toolbox.
I just think this could be really cool aspect that could hurt survivors in a SWF and give killers an edge in an SWF trying to make their way around the system

I'll just use a phone to communicate.

I’ll just use group talk on Snapchat.

I see what you mean but now you have to go out of your way, it's not a PERFECT balance of course just an idea. And like a very minor deterrent and balance. The idea is to try and keep the games a little more interactive with an SWF around but for you to get around it you have to kinda go out your way. It's a very small deterrent but it also gives the option to try and communicate with your rando if you dont have a full squad, or if you play solo you can still have a means of communicating, but it is still slightly limited.

I wouldn't really want that, personally. As you've touched upon in the OP, you could work around it by using Discord or something and using an unused recording device in the game. If the game works around that by checking all of your recording devices for activity, that seems a little intrusive, but it could also be abused by playing a quiet ambient sound that's hard to hear through that device. In the absolute worst case scenario, I can use Discord through my phone and the game wouldn't be able to detect it.
But at that point, I feel like it's going too far. If I'm casually playing with friends, we can't talk about things other than the game without someone else listening in.

Over thinking is ideas! It's good feed back to an idea that can be more perfected to everyones enjoyment.
So maybe instead of forced make it optional, but maybe provide a small benefit to participating in the idea and making the game harder having to deal with an external source to hearing you. Possibly more BP, but don't allow this in like a full SWF so it can't be abused just for extra BP? Then just I'm going more for an idea that can also help solo players rather then hurt SWF. Any ideas?
