Do we loose rift points?

If someone finishes the rift without finishing the level 4 of tome 1, will the player looses the extra rift points or it will transfer for the next rift?
I know we can not claim the challenge rewards and keep them pending but I am curious because I also need blood points...

They won't roll over to the next rift. You can still do the tomb levels for the bloodpoints but they will no longer give you rift fragments.
