What's one thing that you want explained in the Lore?
With the release of Tomes, I've found a lot of good information on Trapper and the Entity (There was barely anything on the Alchemist, and Claudette... it's just about her 8th birthday. In the context of the game... not really impactful as much as Trapper's. It's still interesting as showing how far back her interest in botany comes from...). One thing they didn't answer, though, is the prevalence of a grin, or The Grin in the game. Susie's mask is described as a grin, Trapper's Iron Grin and newly re released mask are distorted Grins. Feng min has a Grin mask.
I'm just curious as to why the same motif keeps coming up in game... speaking of music, the same melodic theme seems to arrive to those who will be taken as well. You know the one. Legion's mixtapes probably has it. Kate introduced the idea of the entity's melody influencing her...
I would just like a bit more info on these two things, to be honest.
Is there anything anyone else wants explained in the Tomes?

I wish to learn more about my favourite survivors and killers. But what i'm really keen on knowing is how the entity, her dimension and her realms came to be as we know them now.
1 -
THe origin of the entity? That would be fascinating... but probably going to be left unanswered.
2 -
maybe the whereabouts of Ben Baker... I really liked that guy.
2 -
I did as well... I feel his story isn't quite over yet.

I think grin isn't really a motif, just a word that gets used a lot, especially when smile isn't appropriate. The music, on the other hand, is an interesting idea. I've always wondered what's on the Fuming Mix Tape, and I didn't know Kate's music was affected by The Entity. There might be something there...
1 -
I call it a grin because it's called that in the description of Susie's mask, Trapper's mask, and Feng's facemask... when they look nothing like them. I mean, look at Susie's mask and tell me what you think of when you look at it... but it's a common symbol in the game. One I'd like explained.
It's not just the Fuming Mixtape. All of theirs was effected, I think. I do think that the main Legion theme is actually the content of Frank's Mixtape. Yeah, Kate's music is usually upbeat country music, but when she was in close contact with the Entity, her music became more melancholy... look at the Curtain Call trailer to hear the exact music. It sounds like it's getting closer to the theme we all recognize.

Don't forget the 'grim grin' masks the Oni got

True.

I know it's more of an easter egg to have Alex in the name Alex's Toolbox, but I was hoping that, since the name was used, that Alex could be an unused or maybe even used character. I'd just like to hear more about Alex in the game.
2 -
That would be interesting. I think all the survivors mentioned in perks like Hope, Deja Vu, and other survivor perks should get some flushing out too.

I'd like some info on what everyone does between trials out in the Entity's realm. Do killers have their own shacks and places of rest or do they just stumble around in the forest until the next trial? Do they have areas to interact and torture survivors or do they only meet in trials? Do killers and survivors eat or sleep? I just wanna know more about the entitys world because from the alchemists story we know it's more than just trials.
9 -
I just want Legion and Jeff.
2 -
The devs confirmed that the killers wait in their respective maps until the next set of survivors come in. Leatherface just hangs out in the Grim Pantry I guess, since that map was added with him and the cannibalism relation... but for Ghostface I have no clue. Maybe he can wander because in his lore he went from one place to another to conduct his killings.
The devs also said that killers know of each other and some could even have small rivalries or respect for each other. Makes me wonder if this is only for the ones that have shared 'realms' like the Plague and Huntress in the Red Forest or Leatherface and Hag in Backwater Swamp, or if they have occasionally met outside of them or even in each others realms somehow.
As for eating and sleeping, I don't know if the Entity can suppress those needs or not, but it could easily use them to its advantage, like starving the Hag and Demogorgon to make them more ravenous
9 -
I believe that's been explained by the realms. I think they just reside in their realms until the next trial. (Legion on Ormond, Wraith on Autohaven, Nurse on Crotus Prenn, etc.)
1 -
I do too. : D

I would honestly love to see more lore expansion on either Benedict or Vigo. Preferably Benedict because we haven't heard from him in awhile.
0 -
Both would be great to hear about... Vigo would be particularly enlightening...
0 -
But what about the Alchemist injecting them? In the Alchemist lore video he injected the Trapper and that wasnt in a trial. So if the Trapper was just waiting in his map, the Alchemist wouldnt be able to chain him up and do that
0 -
Yeah, like I said I would ultimately be happy seeing either of their lore expanded. I'd also love to know what's up with the tags for the blight skins.
1 -
Ah, but Trapper was chained in his realm. I believe the cutscene takes place in Ironworks. All of them probably received similar treatment within their realms.
1 -
The cutscene has a generator present, powered to provide energy to the workshop. If you look in the background of the scene where Trapper is injected, there is indeed a hook as well, so it definitely takes place within some realm
1 -
give me nea lore
But besides that I would love to know what that missing book is from the library
but I believe that will be answered
0 -
I guess Nea needs to be explained... I mean, why does she look like she ran into a brick wall?
0 -
I really want to know what happened to Wraith. It said he killed his boss and took his skull and spine and left but that was it. Where did he get his bell? When did he start looking like a tree? Why does the Wailing Bell let him go to the Spirit World? The older killers really need some love Lore wise, at least in terms of explaining it.
2 -
Now I'm just thinking about Bubba and the Hag sitting in the swamp and playing a card game. Then Bubba has a tantrum when he loses. Like always. Then the Hag just facepalms.
5 -
1) Wraith becoming Entity's servant.
2) More info about Benedict and Weeks town (does someone even remember that?)
3) Man on photo in Mother's dwelling. Who is he? Why he isn't mentioned in Huntress lore?
4) More about Entity. Namely, why it blights once a year. What is the purpose of this?
...and so on. I have a lot of other questions, but they are implying on plotholes with licensed characters, so they will be unanswered. That's fine, I guess.
1 -
Ouch. What do you mean??? Nea’s beautiful!

I want to learn more about the entity. I’m not happy that it seemingly has no weaknesses and that all of the survivors are forever doomed in its eternal games.
I understand that this is a horror game, but I’d like to play with the hole that my survivor will have a small chance at escape. Claudette needs to have a nice ending where she lives out the rest of her life in a quiet town, with David chained to a bed in her basement.
Id like to also know if the Entity has any enemies that may be aware of its antics and if they’re trying to rescue the survivors.
0 -
Wow, you're completely right, I honestly forgot about weeks town until you mentioned it.

Cosmic horror is a tough genre to make for the visual medium. Its both describable and impossible to comprehend. That point is not true. The recent archives lore (the arcus logs) mentions possible weaknesses (Knowledge of it), and there is a compelling argument that light is a weakness of it (Lightburn, mainly. Nurse cant blink when a light is on her, and Wraith are obvious examples).
So there is some hope, but as of right now, there is none. But, your claudette would have hope, since she wouldn't be in the game if she didn't. If she didn't, the Entity would send her to the void.
It appears that there is an enemy of the Entity, and other beings like it. Again, the arcus logs reference this loosely. The observer himself appears to be from one such group.
1 -
The bell was a gift from the Entity. It's why he reappears the way he does... like how the entity materializes on hooks. At least, that's what I understand from what little there is.
0 -
To each their own. XD
0 -
- He went mad. Either from manipulation of the Entity, or the realization that he's committed such heinous crimes... either way, it's a combo of that and that world having an ignorance of the entity (view arcus logs for that part)
- Weeks appears to be the one near MacMillian estate. I think that's more than enough information than we need. It's not a location in the game, so I think it's alright that more isn't given. I kind of hope more is added though since more is always good.
- Sounds like her father... maybe Anna's father died before she was born and her mother didn't like talking about him... but more should be told when Huntress gets her archives.
- I believe that has been covered in the Blight lore 2018. It's a yearly purge of the entity's system...
A lot of the characters aren't from the same world... so I guess it doesn't need to be covered... but I do think Nancy's and Steve's lore needs to be revised, and the Demogorgon needs an explanation of how the Entity took one from the Mind Flayer.
0 -
Yeah, those will probably come later... maybe Tome 4 or later (probably with the Nurse Tome).

What kind of porn Clown keeps on his VHS tapes.

Wraiths bell. what does it have too do with him and how'd he get it specifically.

I like to have explained what survivors and killers do in their freetime.
I bet they have a ton of free time, between the matches and I would like to know what they are doing then.
Answers like "they all sitting around a campfire then" are just unsatisfying. I bet nobody would be able to sit 10+ hours straight on a campfire without doing something, or move to some location, to do there something.
0 -
Killers hang in their realms (Legion on Ormond, Demogorgon at Hawkins, etc.), while survivors hang at the campfire (It's already said at this point, but maybe showing what exactly they can do at the campfire would be nice)... although the new banner might show what they do at christmas... idk...
0 -
All I know is it's a gift from the entity. That's all that's told to us.
0 -
I thought already that, but I wouldn't mind some story-snippets from example of the Legion, what they are doing then on their old House in Ormond.
0 -
I know, there is such a lack of detail on that subject. I don't think the archives will answer that either, since it's more focused on character events than general information.
0 -
Well I looking forward for the Legion, Meyers and Pig archive-lore. I also hope that they bring something about every Legion member in the archive. Joey is still a very mysterious one as example and also Susie, besides that she is best friend with Julie. From Frank we know at least that he has life together with a I guess ignorant and drunken stepfather and that Julie was a local beloved-partygirl.

Obviously nea is the entity!

If there is a way to escape the entity's realm

It'd be great to have some short story of survivor interaction. I mean sure they do it to survive but why save each other? Especially at first why risk the chance of them being hooked and sacrificed? Of course they learn how to play the entities twisted game but I would like to see some interaction. You know, like David walking to the campfire a bit tipsy with a beer bottle. Jack asking how he found it and David replying it was in a chest and said. "I thought, If I'm gonna get ######### up, at least on my own terms." Takes a swig and offers it. Which Jack declines so then David goes back to drinking. Claudette being a loner off in the distance looking at some pretty summer lilacs thinking of home. Dwight trying to cheer up and be the leader he always wanted starts speaking up talking about how "they can do this!" and prodding the others about their past. With Jack feeling more uncomfortable, he eventually leaves the campfire and takes a walk who is soon joined with Claudette who have a talk before Dwight runs past them telling the duo "they need to go. now" with a worried expression. As the trial has started. (I would add more but like dialogue but of course I'm not that great at lore and would want canon lore, I also prefer drawing.) Just little things post trial to build a relationship with the survivors and make them more human and not teabagging overpowered bullies (it's a joke please don't kill me) I don't or want a huge story arc, but just little here and there.
1 -
I would love to see interactions between characters. We kind of know about them by Benedict Baker’s quotes, but they stopped after Darkness Among Us.
We know that some killers share realms (Leatherface + Hag, Huntress + Plague, Clown + Nurse, Spirit + Oni), so they must have a... cordial relationship... at least... and Wraith and Nurse are shown to be a little closer.
0 -
If that is ever shown, it’ll probably be within the last tome ever...
0 -
That throws a interesting question in the room...
The survivor can maybe hope that they can 1 day go back to the real world and live a normal life again (with that memories... brrr...). Maybe also shown ingame, via some new ingame feature someday.
...But for what can killers hope?
Some like Spirit have an advantage, because of their powers, but the most killers... They can only hope to stay forever in the entity realm, or they would be overwhelmed by police forces, as soon as they know where to find them.
Exist somewhere in the world of the entity, something like an "Sovengarde for killers" (yeah I play to many Skyrim)?
What can a killer hope to achieve at the end?
0 -
Well, if the entity were to die, who is to say that they wouldn't be brought back to their original times and places? Some (like the Plague, Hag, and Pig) will die, but others (like Micheal, Legion, and others) may live out their lives hiding from the rest of the world.
Or maybe in a last attempt to survive it would take all the remaining emotions from the killers and then toss them into the void... but who knows?

How the entity chooses who to pull to the other side
Makes no sense
