Anyone able to do 90° flicks?
Well I can't. I even raised up my sensitivity but nope, I can get only ~45° flicks before hitting the ground.
Seems like a nerf inside the nerf.

On console absolutely. Wasn't able to before.

Its impossible, he is so looooowwwww in the turn on the pc platform and very dodgeable.
According to @Janick , with the mouse turn you would be offered from 5 to 10º it would be a total of 100º but it is very useless. I have played 20 games with him today, I have faced good players and they have laughed at him.
I hope it is a bug, and also includes the "buff" they said yesterday, speed in the turn as it feels like ... too slow to make the turn.
2 -
It's a 90 degree arch, not in each direction. So 45 each way for a total of 90.
Anyway, it's a massive nerf. Makes him even more loopable than he already was.
14 -
Really? Well, then F oni. There is no skill involved to dodge a dashing oni anymore, just do a quick turn and ez dodge.
12 -
Apparently you can't turn and hit with your dash but you can definitely turn 90 while dashing like in the example. PC btw
0 -
That wasn't 90 during a dash
3 -
He starts dashing I hear him, then turns 90 degree after he passed pallet. and his dash ends on me, doesn't he? Demon strike would required more time to charge, he wouldn't be able to hit me. That is dash.
0 -
It was only a Demon Strike, no dash. He started it right as he came around the corner behind you. The charge up time for it still to be a one shot is extremely short.
0 -
It is Dash (I think, hard to tell with the slomo), but it's not a 90 degree flick. He turned most of the way way before lunging.
0 -
That was not a 90 degree turn at all, he had an angle on you, that was a short straight line demon dash to your back.
0 -
I can do 50° max, and even if I manage to predict well the survivor path, the turn is so slow that he actually manages to get out of range.
1 -
Yeah was gonna say, not only is it a much tighter angle it also turns much slower.
0 -
That was indeed a demon dash. You can tell from the noise, change in stance movement speed. The reason why it looks like a demon strike is because the person who made the video slow down the speed and the demon quickly turned to use strike.

90° is possible on console, but the swing doesn't actually go the full 90 until near the very end of the animation (which is just about when the camera slams down). It's very nauseating, sadly. Hopefully they smooth out the camera movments a bit.

That's how oni should be used in loops.

You can definitely do 90 degree flicks. If you have trouble with the mouse, use the keyboard. Sometimes I think it even goes further than that, especially when I use both, but I bet if I were able to record it and slow down the replay, it would show I had a head start in the turn. 90 shouldn't be a problem though if you practice a little more.
0 -
Uhm, practise? It's just... Uhm.. Moving the mouse. Sorry, you wanna troll me or?
1 -
You said you can't do it so I said to practice so that you can. I don't troll.
0 -
Except you can't flick 90 degrees.
I'm playing on max mouse sensitivity and it doesn't seem to go past 30~ degrees.
6 -
Ok ok, I take the bait. Tell me, oh you professional e-sport gamer, tell me how to move the mouse from right/left to left/right. Please, this is some rocket science and I'm a legit 4head so please keep it as simple as just possible without using mathematical and physical terms beyond the comprehension of a human with 2 million IQ. Im excited to read your trick lol
5 -
That's why I said to try the keyboard because if you assign the turn to keys it might make it easier. That's what I was using by default, Q and E, the mouse took a little bit longer to get right.
If you can't flick 90 degrees then I don't know what to tell you. I use a Logitech G510s keyboard and a G500s mouse and have no problems.
0 -
Now who's trolling? You asked a question because you're having difficulty pulling it off. I answered your question and now you're being like this because you're put off for some reason? Brother... grow up. There's an acceleration near the end of the movement. Practice from there. I'd go into detail, but I think you're the type of gamer that needs to learn on their own.
1 -
Can you upload some kind of clip of you doing it?
I haven't seen anyone doing it from all of the streamers, youtubers, killers in game or myself so you appear to be only one.
Just btw: If you can only do it using keyboard then that sounds like a bug that allowed Oni to turn more then intended in PTB.
1 -
No man, I have no means to record a clip but it's funny that you mentioned streamers because it was Zubat that I watched doing it a few days ago. He was talking about how crappy the flick was now and he demonstrated it on Lery's, so you can watch the video and you'll see what I mean.
And just so I'm clear, this isn't the insane turn-from-a-lunge Oni had before the nerf; this is a little different. It happens at the very end of the movement so if you turn it right, you'll get that 90 degree accelerated hit at the end of the dash. It may not be all that useful in normal use around loops, especially when comparing it to the old flick, but I try to work with what I'm given and I don't find it entirely useless,
0 -
You mean that initial tiny turn and last milisecond massive swipe which looks like you try to hit their ankles by spinning?
I wouldn't really count that as it doesn't seem to hit anything most of the time.
1 -
About 45 degrees on console. Although I have to admit it's still better then it was before the patch
0 -
Yeah, you can pull that off from a dash. I downed a couple survivors that way either that night or the next morning. Coincidentally, it was on Lery's when they were trying to dip and hide behind #########.
0 -
You have no means cuz u can't.
1 -
yea the change feels bs on console, most of the time im only getting 45* flicks instead of 90* however its better than barely being able to move post change.
0 -
On PC he slams the ground around 30-45 degrees to the pointed direction and then you get mad sensitivity which makes it so that you can do full 180 but that's after the attack already happend so no use of it.
0 -
Ok, I get wherre you're coming from now. Good luck.
0 -
Yeah I'm coming from a logical and evidence based opinion, hello there Mr. big-talker-without-proofs
0 -
Can not.
Probably the usual bug.
Fix it quickly.
