Every killer should have add ons that are genuinely helpful to their builds

And I think this is a big part of the controversy right now. Besides survivors getting the large end of the stick with toolboxes/fast gen speeds, multitudinous opportunities to get a second chance or escape etc while killers MUST play perfectly or be severely punished for their mistakes, and just the fact that adept survivors need only survive while killers must jump through hoops and pray to an unforgiving and hard to please Entity.

No killer should have add ons that are either useless at best, a hindrance at worst, and are generally unhelpful to their objective and especially against swfs.

Old Freddy, rest his gorgeous soul, had one thing in spades and that was a diverse AND handy dandy collection of add ons you could use to make fun and devious builds. New Freddy, bless him, is pretty great...except now he has some stinkers for add ons. And no, not talking about the necessary, if harsh, changes to the ropes (you know it to be true.) I’m talking about how his beautiful blocks went from being universally useful to questionable, gimmicky, and a shadow of their former selves. Same with Kid’s Drawing - a once handy little brown add on that is now a hindrance to Freddy for a measly 200 points.

Michael Myers has a vanity mirror which is utterly useless and PALES next to his beautiful scratched mirror. Doctor has scrapped tape which has no use at all except to remind the player that they might want a donut from Tim Horton’s. Oni has a really weird and unhelpful crest unworthy of its rarity. Miss Piggy has add ons that actually help good survivors and don’t really help her much due to her power being so rng related. Plague has an iridescent add on with more negatives than positives. Legion is Legion. Nurse has a few add ons that are a little baffling. Leatherface has broken chili. The list goes on.

Since every killer needs to buy into the bloodweb for their add ons, with the rare exception of a ward, it should be that every add on has some genuine use or bonus for the killer so taking it literally doesn’t feel like a waste of points and space.
