Hag Mains tell me your secret techniques.

Just looking for some stuff on Hag as my friend has been trying to convince me to pick her back up for the last few months.

I wanted to know like your favorite trap placements on certain maps. Your favorite things you like to do with her. Just the little things that you feel from your experiences with her give you that Hag like advantage.

Seriously though I really would like some helpful tips from players.

Comments

  • Traps everywhere pretty much, as many as you can.

Not in predictable places, just in areas that they would likely run through, around loops, that sort of thing, and just be porting all the time, hitting people, and keeping that pressure and your traps up.

She is very scary but you need a lot of focus and to be always doing something.

I don't play Hag anymore, I kept getting called a hacker because of rusty shackles. Let's see... what I can suggest is that you could put them in spots survivors will run to when they're in a pinch. Stairs, houses, killer shack, maybe pallets if you're feeling confident. Though, that's a double edge sword. Hell, even chests are a good spot.

Distance and duration add-ons will be your best friends. Even her purples are fantastic, especially rusty shackles.

traps everywhere like u would when u play snares freddy, place traps in the loops in front of the survivor hooked and nearby aswell block the entrances to the hooked guy so they have to waste a lof of time crouching or they will trigger a trap decently away from that survivor...

my build? Make yor choice (nice perk for her to have extra presure), agitation (to force people into the bassement, bassement hag is strong), sloppy (or BBQ if i want points or monitor wich is amazing on her because ther TR is small and with monitor is even smaller but is not mandatory) and some slowdown ruin or corrupt.

Just trap... Don't forget to trap. That's all. Don't put traps at pallets but before or after them even better but not too close. Counter long windows by using trap when someone is on them to get him off that place. Don't use bigger radius addons for traps to trigger you won't be able to hit right after u jump if the survivor is smart

I enjoy running bodyblocker hag especially in basement situation. As soon as you get one in the basement trap it up. They can't rescue without crouching plus you can just make them run to save preventing them from leaving.

My build is ruin, corrupt intervention, sloppy, and monitor. I always use setting speed/teleport distance addons (necklaces and bug parts).

Trap common travel paths, notably Badham you can trap both sets of stairs going down to the boiler room in the elementary school, and as long as you set the traps a few feet out from the top of the stairs, you're also covering two of the entrances with the same traps. Any time you have a house where you know they're either up or downstairs from where you are, be sure to trap any windows you see upstairs that are forced drops (without a roof to walk on once you vault) or trap the stairs coming up from downstairs and push them around the other way into your trap(s).

You should always be thinking about how many possible directions/paths can activate the trap you're setting, and how desirable a place is (is it a safe pallet, infinite, jungle gym, T/L wall?). If you see an infinite-enabling window is open, be sure to try to trap that loop somewhere far away from safety/a pallet/window so you have plenty of wiggle room if you miss a swing or something. You will miss a LOT of swings with Hag if you're not used to a 4.4/110% killer, but it gets better with time. Always remember to trap a bit further away from windows than you'd expect, because survivors can and will pop them from across a vault and laugh at you. If killer shack doesn't have a gen, I always trap the midpoint between the window and the two doors (usually slightly toward the window from the actual center of the room). If it does, I trap the corner of the shack between the window and the door w/o a pallet on it.

As for playstyle, spread the love around. Run sloppy, take your teleports when they're there, get a hit, and RESET YOUR TRAP. Don't take chases unless they're running straight into an already set trap/it's a sure thing. Otherwise, keeping your web up is more important than a possible down from a survivor being out of position. Try to fake setting traps once a survivor slams a pallet down to run them off of the loop (let part of the animation go, but let go before it completes setting). It doesn't always work, but at worst you have to actually set some traps at loops later and then you can sell the fake again usually. Also, remember that survivors react to traps, so in a common scenario where you have a trap on one side of the pallet, and you chase them through the pallet into the trap, wait a second and see what they do. A lot of the time, they'll come right to you and try to drop the pallet because they think you're taking the teleport.

At the end of this insanely long and boring post, I encourage you to keep trying with Hag. She and Trapper are unique out of the entire killer roster in that your planning and predictions can really cover up for mechanical issues you may have with the game (eliminating chases/looping a lot of the time), but also require adopting an entire new skillset that none of the other killers demand. You will absolutely lose some games in a painful fashion early on, but her snowball potential once you get good with her is insane. Have fun trying her out and feel free to message me if you ever have questions!

    Catch someone.

Put 10 traps around their hook.

You are now a great Hag player.

Tbh as survivor I'd probably set them all off just for fun.

    Imagine the 4 survivors you’re vs’ing are:

    A gen rusher

    A looper

    A hook rusher

    An immersed one

Then make traps in mind for all of them.

First thing you have to do is decide where you want to 3 gen and concede the far off gens. Her teleport range is bad, so you have to concentrate in one area, usually near my Ruin. Second thing, you have to trap beyond a pallet or window a little ways, because if it's too close, they will escape. Third thing, she's a natural camper/tunneler. That is an important one because she's so slow and her visibility is so bad. Trap around the hook, wait for teammates, teleport. You're going to get a lot of salt about this, but it's the character design.

Holy hell, I couldn't disagree with you more. If you shoot for a 3-gen from the beginning of the match, you're dooming yourself to a black PiP in almost every case. Run corrupt intervention, and try to make your web cover five gens if possible. You need to force survivors into your web as soon as possible, so you don't want to just set up your web and wait.

I wouldn't call her a natural camper/tunneler because if you tunnel that means you're likely chasing, and chasing is almost always bad for Hag since she's 4.4 m/s not 4.6 m/s. Camping is questionable because yeah, with 3 or 4 good traps around a hook a lot would call you "proxy camping," but you can and should walk away from the hook once you've got it trapped decently. People will probably be salty at you no matter how you play, but please for every Hag main's sake don't just camp/tunnel. If you want to facecamp, play Bubba so the poor survivors at least see it coming 😁

I should explain better. I don't sit back and wait for a 3 gen, I actively chase them, but I heavily defend areas with clumped gens. I won't let one survivor drag me across the map so they can spread out the gens. I'm not talking face camp, it's the proxy camp. Place traps, follow bait survivor, wait for friend to unhook and trip the traps, teleport back. I do a similar tactic with spirit, feign the teleport to lure out impatient survivors.

Oh that's cool, I just hate the labels attached with Hag being so negative. I've seriously had someone call me a camper because I set a web up around a hook, they walked right over the trap by the hook, and I got the grab. Like dude, I was at the full teleport distance with a Dried Cicada, so I most definitely wasn't camping 😛

I know, I've gotten the same accusation. Just because I can teleport back doesn't mean I'm camping. It's easy enough to defend, people just want to sprint up and unhook, mostly because someone else is waiting in the wings to steal your safe unhook.

I don't main hag, but I always basically get an EZ 4 killer playing her. One thing I do is place a trap in the middle of killer shack and then one outside the window of shack. You're basically guaranteed a hit or down if someone goes there

When I play, I set 3 kinds of traps.

The first are the most obvious - traps that will help at loops. Usually placed on the strong side of a loop in a way that the camera whip will screw up a survivor. These help with chases and you need these at jungle gyms / safe loops or else you can lose the game trying to get hits at them.

The second are traps that interrupt survivors' pathing. Usually placed at choke points or places where survivors commonly run in-transit to unhooks, gens, or moving around the map in general away from pallets. These can net you hits very quickly, and even if you can't teleport to them you get information as to where survivors are.

The third are traps to "guard" something like a hook or a totem. Pretty self explanatory, makes for good Devour Hope or Make your Choice stacks.

If you put your back right up against a wall, especially a corner, and place a trap, you'll put it close enough to camera-whip a survivor into a wall.

You should not try to cover the entire map with traps, generally. Especially on larger ones, they'll just get tripped and unless you're running both a range addon and an egg addon, the trap will be gone by the time you get there. It's better to cordon off about 40 to 60% of the map as "yours" and carry survivors to hooks in that area. The game generally actually "begins" for you at 2-3 gens left, and you don't want it to get to the endgame collapse, in my experience.

Don't set traps around pallets until you're chasing through them, as until then they're useless traps and you're likely not going to get a hit off them anyway. Once you do get a safeish loop, set a trap a decent amount away from the opening, but close enough that once they drop it and move a bit they can trip it. After this, walk the LONG way around to force them to get them to be positioned like this: you, pallet, survivor, trap (sprung). now that they're stuck between a hag and a hard place they'll either panic and jump into your arms, or make distance from the loop in which you can then teleport or run around the other side of the loop from your sprung trap.
