Random host instead of killer

it seems like they will never make hosting dedicated because of economic problems. Because lagswitching is a real problem atm, what do you think about random host. It could be the killer or one of the 4 survivor. Also if a survivor leave the game, host is given to the next random person. Abuse of lagswitch should be less of a problem then.

If one of the survivors will host as soon as they die they leave right ? so what if the guy who host dies first ? end of the game thx for playing.
Honestly i dont find lag switchers everyday maybe i find one or two per month at best maybe my luck who knows.

Having random hosts was/is a huge problem in F13. It helped to kill that game, I don't see how it could help DbD.

lol 1 or 2 per month? Do we play the same game or you just play that often. As I said, I host die and leave it goes to the next person.

Considering how they have the P2P system set up, host migration will not work.

I have 40 hrs in the last 2 weeks i guess thats decent play time, i mean i get very rare lag switchers usually only ppl that lag for 1-2 seconds then goes back to normal without problems.
Let's be honest theres a game breaking bug that makes the game unplayable at high ranks (matchmaking issue long time queue) and they didnt fix it yet do you really think BHVR can pull an host switch in this game?

please read properly genius. i said, if person dc´s, host go to another person.

i played nearly 4k hours switch and i play mainly high ranked on both sides but more killer so far. for me its a real issue. it wont fix it but reduce it for sure.

It won't work for the same reason SWF teams disband if the killer dodges or quits, there is nothing in place to save the group state and transfer that data over to a new host.

In order to put that in place they would need to overhaul the entire P2P system they are currently using which would require alot of $ and man hours and if they were to go that far, they might as well just get dedicated servers and leave P2P behind.

    ?

Sorry. Had a meeting to get to.

Yes, I'm pretty sure initial cost would be close.

didn't Halo 3 have such a system? whenever the initial host would have left, it would make someone else the new host

I did read properly, and it's unfeasible. You should've spent those 4k hours learning how the game's P2P works.

They gave a fortune to get thier own rights to the game, In order to do things such as all of this:

I can't remember how much they said PLEASE CORRECT ME!
But if I'm right we are talking millions spent on them trying to get thier own rights for the game.

Personally, I disagree with your opinion that lag switching is an issue in the game's current state. I haven't encountered anyone using it during the time that I've been playing Dead by Daylight; and considering other discussions, such as the dependency of Ruin Hex at higher ranks, I think there's more important gameplay aspects to focus on.

I also disagree with the idea of survivors hosting games for reasons that other people have already pointed out. And considering the current options regarding server hosting, having Killer as host is the most optimal method of keeping this system consistent. The matches are short enough to where, if one of my teammates or the enemy killer disconnects, I can just hop back into a new game.

    Here's my suggestion :
Get a faraway friend on discord.
    Make him host a round.
Try to play killer with 300+ ping. (Especially Hag, or Nurse)

Come back and rethink your suggestion.

No. KYF already does this (whoever hosts the lobby is host) and if that player is survivor, killer will have serious lag. Plus if that person dies early and leaves (or just quits, which is more common for surv than killer) then it's game over.

Killer has to be the host until dedicated servers are a thing.

And the game crashes when the survivor ragequits? Good idea
Oh, and then the player hosting the game can laggswitch, thats literally a problem with the P2P concept, no matter who hosts

There is another problem with random person host.

Lets say I am a survivor and I play in Germany. One survivor joins my lobby and he is from the Netherlands. Another one joins my lobby and he is from Poland. As long as I am the host, they won't have any lag issues because they are close to me. However, if I die and if the guy from the Netherlands is chosen to be the host, the guy in Poland might start to have lag issues.

I am not sure about destinations so don't bother with Netherlands-Poland example but I am sure it would be much more problematic than lag switching.
