Prologue

After taking some feedback from others and looking at previous attempts to make the ranking system more balanced (represent player skill more accurately) — I found a simple solution for the survivor ranking system!


Survivor Ranking System

Survivors will have two categories that will be used to see whether or not they deserved to gain rank progression (these are called pips).


Primary Points:

These are the points earned by doing your primary objective: Escape the Trial.


You will start off with 100 points in this category, and you will lose these points when the following happens:

  • Dying State: -10 Points everytime you're downed.
  • First Hook State: -20 Points.
  • Second Hook State: -20 Points.
  • Sacrifice Hook State: -20 Points.


Escaping the Trial will remove 50% of all points lost by getting hooked and downed.


Bonus Points:

These are the points earned by doing your objectives related to your primary objective: Unhooks, repairs, cleansing, and so on.

You are granted a % value of your earned bonus points depending on your rank: This means you can't keep relying on bonus points to cover your mistakes as you progress through the ranks!

Brown: 100%

Yellow: 80%

Green: 60%

Purple: 40%

Red: 20%

For example: You earned 60 bonus points in red ranks. Since you are in red ranks, you actually earned 24 bonus points because 20% of 60 is 12. 🤗😁


You will start off with 0 points in this category, and you will gain points when the following happens: You can earn a maximum of 100 bonus points.

  • Repair a Generator: 0.20 Points every 1% you repair.
  • Cleanse a Totem: 2.5 Points (and these points are doubled if it's a Hex Totem)


  • Safe Unhooks: 25 Points.
  • Killer Grasp Rescue: 25 Points.


  • Escape a chase for 15 seconds when the chase lasted 15+ seconds: 2.5 Points.
  • Escape a chase for 15 seconds when the chase lasted 30+ seconds: 5 Points.
  • Escape a chase for 15 seconds when the chase lasted 45+ seconds: 10 Points.
  • Escape a chase for 15 seconds when the chase lasted 60+ seconds: 25 Points.
  • Each generator completed while in a chase that is lasting 15+ seconds: 10 Points.

Escaping a chase without taking damage from the killer will award double the points.

Chase timer is reset to 0 seconds if you're attacked by the killer, and you will gain points towards whatever your previous chase time was.


Rank Progression

You need 70+ points to gain rank progression, and to gain a double rank progression, you need to score the maximum amount of bonus points possible for your rank while having 70+ points.


Example: You got 60 primary points and 50 bonus points in red ranks.

20% of 50 is 10, so 60 (Primary Points) + 10 is 70 points.

You will gain rank progression because you're at 70+ points.


Example: You got 40 primary points and 100 bonus points in red ranks.

20% of 100 is 20, so 40 (Primary Points) + 20 is 60 points.

You will lose rank progression because you're below 70 points.


Example: You got 40 primary points and 50 bonus points in red ranks.

20% of 50 is 10, so 40 (Primary Points) + 10 is 50 points.

You will lose rank progression because you're below 70 points.

    It looks pretty good so far. Of course numbers can change. Like save a survivor from killer grasp can be increased, maybe. Add Blinds and stuns, but not worth that much.

    Maybe BhVr would take some elements from this and make it happen. I would like to see more stronger red ranks and see if i am actually a red rank or some other color.

    If any change, imo, to ranked it needs rewards so people will have the insensitive to go for red. People will complain saying"How hard it is to rank up" so adding rewards people can say back"Well, you earn the reward for doing good"
