Why is Clown a Bad Killer?
Why is Clown bad since he can completely disable a loop, forcing survivors to drop a pallet early?

Because it seems that people can easily drop pallets and still go through vaults and not get punished by his power. If you get caught by his power just drop the pallet or go to your nearest vault basically.

No map pressure. Most maps have enough pallets to keep a clown busy while everyone does gens. Freddy has Clown's slowdown, plus several other bonuses. Literally no reason to play Clown when Freddy exists.

Thanks for clearing up my confusion, sir.

It depends on the clown. Yes, he will get gen rushed by a couple of red rank sweats. But if you get a GOOD clown he will shut your loops down and it can be a real pain. But you don’t see many good clowns so they have my respect. Usually don’t have too many problems against him bough unless it’s a good clown obviously. Any killer that can prevent loops or traverse across the map in short amount of time has the potential to be a good killer against any survivor. Billy, hag, spirit, Freddy,Oni, etc

He's got diabetes

He's got no speed, no slow down, no information, no pressure potential, only bottles somewhat slowing Survivors and making them caughing for a brief period.
I just can play Freddy and have not only very similar ability to slow Survivors' speed, but also have map pressure with teleports and some surprise element with his lullaby.

Uunlocking pop.
Maybe bamboozle?

Because he doesn't have any pressure outside a chase

Because forcing pallets down early doesn't really help you in the grand scheme of things. The pallet count is typically designed around new survivors that just camp and drop pallets, so you'll rarely put a significant dent in the number of pallets by the time the game is over in higher rank play.

The Clown has:
- No tracking.
- No stealth.
- No mobility.
- No stalling.
- An ability that slows down survivors in the chase.
Freddy, Nurse, Hag, Huntress, Billy, and Demo are all much better in ending chases quicker. Plus many of them have qualities the Clown lacks.

So I have a lot of hours on Clown, and his ability would be decent if the strongest loops werent vaults and survivors did not have 32 thousand pallets

And Tuberculosis

He lacks map pressure and his ability doesn't injure.

The clown needs pink elephants and generators that giggle and run away if you complete more than 10% of it.
Because getting drugged is something you can just shrug off 4 seconds later.

First of all, lack of Map Pressure. This is the same reason why old Legion was a bad Killer, despite ignoring Defenses a Survivor has (same like Nurse).
Also, while he has a built-in Anti Loop tool, you still need to use Chase-Perks to make him work. A Killer like Spirit is totally fine with just Tracking and Slowdown-Perks. But Clown needs Stuff like Enduring, Spirit Fury, Brutal Strength, despite already having an ability which counters Loops.
Furthermore, he forces early Pallet Drops, but if the Pallet is safe, this does not do that much. In the longrun, sure, but he has to break them.
Clown is not that bad on new Badham or Hawkins, since most Pallets are unsafe tho. There he can do a little bit more with his Toolkit.

It's not like he counters loops, he just reduces them. Just play safe with pallets and you'll almost always have enough to last a decent amount of time vs him. Then when he's out of bottles he's super screwed and needs to do his long slow reload.
But the main thing is, he has NOTHING else. Just an aid in chases and that's your lot.

Because Clown is a killer that's meant to be 100% chase, he has no map pressure, no mobility, but to compensate he should be a beast when it comes to chases themselves, but he's not. His bottles aren't nearly significant enough, so chases with him still drag-on long. He definetly needs some love.

All he does is make the survivors drop pallets early. There are more than enough pallets in the maps to have all the gens done before they run out. This makes his literal only strength not matter much. He needs changes, especially since as others have pointed out, Freddy just does everything he does and more.

Clown does not disable loops.
Clown is probably the easiest loopable killer in the game, next to maybe Bubba.

Couldn't be due to his health.

Only decent in chase, takes too much time to reload, he's too slow reloading considering all his power does is barely help in chase, very addon dependent, bottle is very buggy and sometimes randomly breaks before hitting anything, needs a lot of buffs and quality of life changes imo.
Basically forced to run Brutal Strength because his main strength is survivors just drop the pallet early against him.

people have said it pretty clearly here alreayd, except they miss one point: when Clown throws a bottle, he gets the same speed reduction as a survivor affected by the gas, for the same duration. meaning, if he doesnt improve the power using add ons to strengthen it or add new effects, he doesn't technically have a power.

Yeah that's a big problem too. A lot of us have mentioned it so much that it's easier to just mention everything else about Clown. You right though we should have brought it up.
Although I'd agree with anyone who would say Clown should have zero penalties when using bottles. Compromise at 110% while reloading as well. Clown's only thing going for him is being good in chase we might as well try and put that on steroids. Right now it's very lackluster.
After the Doc rework Bubba and Clown need overhauls ideally in that order. They've been neglected for quite some time.

The other killers I can think of that have absolutely no map pressure have either an instadown (GF, Myers, Bubba), zone control (Trapper) or projectile attacks (Huntress, Plague is 50/50 on projectiles and pseudo instadown). Pig has some stealth and a good game slowdown. He has none of that, just a power that forces you to drop pallets early. Since most maps don't have a shortage of pallets, he just kinda gets screwed over.

He's not a bad killer. He is however, very add-on hungry. Bleach + 15% ether is really, really nasty if you are landing the bottles.
I always do Ruin + Pop + Brutal + Bamboozle. Bamboozle is super strong on him since it lets you herd people into the gas easily. L + T walls are almost free hits with bamboozle. Toss gass at one window, bamboozle the other. There is no option except leave the tile or get hit.
Brutal strength is needed since he forces pallet drops very quickly, and you need to get them out of the way. It helps kick the gens a bit faster with pop as well.
Ruin + Pop because it's the meta combo.
Overall he is one of my more favorite killers to play.
