Stealth meta and the way forward?
Recently seen a lot of Wraith/Ghost Face (and some Pig) played recently at the higher ranks, and I'm not sure whether it's because of certain streamers/YouTubers promoting them or not. However, after playing around with these Killers myself, I have to agree that they are really good at combating the current way of how Survivors play - e.g. avoiding BT, being able to slug DS users because of this, etc.
Just wondering how long the stealth meta will go on for now as I can't really see BT or even DS getting nerfed anytime soon, and for as long as these perks stay as they are, so will the people that play Wraith, GF, Pig, etc. On one hand, it's great to see the usual three phased out recently, but on the other we have a "new" set of Killers to keep playing against instead.
I quite like seeing this honestly, but how long will it be before the meta changes again?

once survivors will swap BT with Spine Chills I think stealth killers meta will come to a brisk halt.

Stealth killers aren't the meta but they are finally quite viable. In Ghostface's case: he can probably rival the likes of Billy.
1 -
I run both because keeping track of any "meta" is a fool's errand. Killers will play who they want to play and it's the survivor's job to adapt as the trial progresses.

Ok..?
I suppose you run Iron Will as well?
1 -
No it's a waste. Why do you ask?

Because it’s the counter to Spirit.
2 -
Spirit is very niche rn due to sound bugs.

Oh, so you do follow the meta :P

Busted 🤣

I like it when I face Stealth Killers.
Except Wraith. I am terrible at playing against Wraith and always end up dying first against him no matter how hard I try, lmao
2 -
That's me, but against GF instead. I go full potato for some reason, I don't even know why lol.

I always run spine chill no matter what, but it especially helps against the stealth killers. It is very helpful to know if you should be positioning yourself at a pallet or working on a generator when inside a killers terror radius.

I'm wondering if it will happen myself. Spine Chill isn't completely appreciated for what it does by everyone yet, and the fear of reverting back to Billy, Spirit, etc might prevent people from adding it to their current perk lists. Would very interested to see what the outcome would be if it did happen though. Would Killers go for the full TR builds that cover map again for example.

I was here before the meta, i'm here during it, and i'll be here afterwards.
Well, as long as i find Wraith this fun to play as.
devs pls fix his super-lunge, thx

And there’s people wanting BT to counter stealth killers... lul... people playing the stealth killers just recognise the strength of BT.

Dudee how can you say that the perk allows some amazing plays watch this video:

Until spine chill is nerfed when killer is in undetectable status; which will come eventually. As it absolutely should, IMO. Undetectable means undetectable. Not "kind of detectable". Spine Chill should not effect killers like EW1 Myers, Ghostface in his ability, Wraith cloaked, or anyone with insidious..
1 -
I strongly disagree, and I seriously doubt Spine Chill will ever get nerfed.
7 -
It wouldn't really be a spine chill nerf. More of an undetectable buff; as it should be. Undetectable, as I said, means undetectable.
1 -
Undetectable means that killer aura is undetectable, the killer has no terror radius, and the killer has no red stain.
That's what Undetectable means in Dead by Daylight, nothing more, nothing less.
Don't imagine other meanings beyond that though, otherwise the next step is "Undetectable killers should be invisible - they are undetectable!!" :)
4 -
It is fine. There is no other way for survivors to have counterplay to someone like ghostface on a map like Hawkins.
Undetectable was introduced because of Object of Obsession users having literal wallhacks on stealth killers 24/7.
2 -
They have eyes. As well, the word "undetectable" is pretty black and white.

Undetectable in DbD doesn't mean what you think it means, deal with it 😎
4 -
I mean, it has a definition. "Not able to be detected". It literally means exactly what i think it does. Great job on your failed attempt at being pseudo witty, though. /s
Try again. I'll give you another crack at it. :)

Anti-heal-stealth is meta atm, because chasing basically takes too long. Even with 30 second chases you can loose against a team that's good on gens.

May I ask since I haven't actually used the perk in a long time but does this also counter alert? Don't know why this question came to mind.
Anyway my personal belief is that spine chill should counter stealth killers. I never use any detection perks and haven't for a long time but I like having perks that can counter killer abilities.

Spine Chill is the answer to stealth meta and once more people start using it we will see a decline in its effectiveness. I do not believe it will be destroyed but the "surprise hit" that is a staple of the playstyle will be difficult to pull off.

yeah, and a Nurse can't levitate or blink around a hospital, but still... ;).

yes, it counters Kindered as well.
Every perk or item that should let you see the aura of the killer is trumped by Undetectable.

Small correction, only Undetectable prevents aura reading. Oblivious only hides the TR.

uh! thanks for the correction, I honestly didn't know that!

What i wonder if survivors start using spine chill more is if stealth killer are going to drop or if they are going to adept by moonwalking to the gen they go to

NowNow I will see al the killer mains that want to nerf spine chill and guarantee mori every match

Just gonna say, every single time Spine Chill comes up, it's an echo chamber of everyone saying how underrated and underused it is.
It's in nearly every game at red ranks now in my experience, usually more than 1. It's not underrated, it's not underused, it's pretty close to the top meta.

Stealth killers are popular because they take the onus of performing decent on a chase away from the killer
It's a lot easier to hit and run than it is to mindgame tiles and apply pressure in other ways.
If a killer player is good in chases there are a lot of way better killers.

Dare I say if moonwalking becomes a prevalent means to counter Spine Chill we might actually see Premonition being used!
What a day to be alive!

Ikr meta shifting constantly
Such joy and fun

I honestly think all survivors should be running spine chill unless your a 4 or 3 squad then one can be running object because spine chill is super good but not over powered. I doesn't let you know where exactly the killer is but even if they are invisible you can tell there within 32 meters and are looking at you. This allows you to sprint burst away or at least go hide

I feel like people will start to run unbreakable more, and maybe play safer? I dunno
