Night Shroud And It's Detection?

Serious question because iv'e finally gotten tired of this. How is it for the past 7 games (started counting when i started to notice, could be more games) the survivors somehow know i'm near/closing in on them when i'm in night shroud with no terror radius or red stain?!?!?

I'm proper confused and need an explanation for this madness :(

Spine chill hard counters stealth. Premonition can do the same but it's less effective. Ghostface has loud flapping noises too, so that could tip people off.

Spine Chill, Premonition, awareness, SWF or Night Shroud sound. That are the things that can "detect" you while in stealth.
