What do you do if you already reach lv 70 in the rift?
All these rift fragments you get from the challenges are useless now!

Yeah, once you reach tier 70, you don't receive Rift Fragment rewards from the Tome anymore. You can still gain bloodpoints and lore fragments from completing challenges, though.
Personally, I paced myself for that reason, so that I wouldn't finish the Rift before completing all the challenges, since I wanted to make the most of the easy Rift progress gained thereby.
The advantage, if you've completed the Rift already, is that there's no time limited aspect to the Tome challenges anymore, so you can take as long as you like to complete them all, and you can go back to playing the game normally in the meantime without having to worry about how far and how quickly you're progressing.

We also did this entire test in another question (me and Fibijean) and the amount of tiers you'd get is like... 33 or 34? I don't remember if it's either 33 or 34.
But basically, you'd get that many tiers and it depends on the 800 EXP Rift Fragments you'd get while also doing the challenges... which is even more math.
But to make this simple, just do what Fibijean said, if you pace yourself while and not get to tier 70 before completing the challenges... than you'll make the most out of easy Rift Fragment grabs. Since that's 100x better than just rushing to tier 70 from regular 800EXP matches, which you won't get 800EXP for each match... more like 600EXP... so... yeah, more math, another discussion.
So yeah, just pace yourself for the next Rift. It makes it a lot easier and more chill.
