Bubbas Add-ons

What do you think about the chainsaw noise reduction add-ons?

  • Chainsaw File (-30%)
  • Homemade Muffler (it say -35%)
  • Carburettor Tuning Guide (-30%)

And what about Chilli? Are these add-ons still useless? DBD wiki say that they have no noticable impact.

  • Chilli ( Increases the acceleration by 50(?) )
  • Award-winning Chilli ( Increases the acceleration by 100(?) )

    I never use 'em.

Well, except Carburetor, cause that one's got lots more.

Award Winning Chilli noticably affects directional changes. Works great for chainsaw mindgames around (closed) pallet loops depending on the survivor's skill. Doesn't seem to actually affect the acceleration in terms or top speed even though it should.

Take all addons that reduce chainsaw noise level (minus Carburetor Tuning Guide) and replace them with addons that reduce your terror radius at all times. One could reduce your TR by 4 meters, and the other could reduce it by 6 meters.

Your chainsaw does not work for map pressure and you the only way to make it usable you need to be behind the survivor so.... why would you use it?

And the chili addons don't work sadly

They DO work. They just don't do what everyone expects.

    People says it doesn't work

I tried it and it doesn't work

And even the devs said themselves that it doesn't work. Multiple times, recently they mentioned that they will be looking at the "chainsaw brother's" addons and said "we're looking at you chili."

    It's just a mind trick.

Sorry. My post was deleted. No. They don't work.

Killer main streamers say it doesn't work.

Int3ract the guy who makes incredible killer guides and killer stats says it doesn't work. He both tested and got conformation that it doesn't work.

I tried it and it doesn't work.

The developers of dead by daylight themselves says that it DOESN'T work. As for why they didn't fix it is beyond me. They even somewhat made a joke about it too recently. I did not see anything in the patch notes that says they fixed it. It's just a mind trick.

Just do the following test and you will see the chilli addons do work:

    1) play without addons.

    2) swing the chainsaw while standing completely still and start moving left and right rapidly just after the 4th swing of the chainsaw (due to the higher speed during the last few swings it's more noticeable)

    3) now play another game - this time with Award Winning Chili and repeat step 2)

You will see the difference. Chilli addons affect the acceleration at which your character model changes directions during the chainsaw attack. That's "chainsaw acceleration". Most people think it affects the acceleration as in you reach your top speed more quickly which it doesn't (even though it should).

What? I get what you're saying, but I don't see it. That seems like it's just a trick you are seeing, swinging left to right quickly with a flailing chainsaw and the mindset that it will work is making it SEEM like it's working when in actuality it doesn't. Like I said, the developers said it doesn't work at ALL. It's nothing. The only thing that DOES work is the longer stun duration of the award winning chili. If it DID work you would see more leatherface's running it. A lot more. I would be abusing that addons if it did work.

Edit: watch Int3act's video on leatherface. It will help a lot

@Almo could you possibly confirm whether Leatherface's purple addon (Award Winning Chilli) works or not? I would really appreciate a dev's take on this.
