Question for Survivors
What is fun about gen-rushing and completing a game in 5 minutes? 4 survivors all equipped with toolboxes, rushing separate gens to finish the game as soon as possible
You barely get BP, most I’ve seen when I play against it is like 13-15k. It’s just as boring as hook camping also not very rewarding besides a win.

As a survivor your main goal is to escape. That's why survivors gen rush, because it's the most effective way to,you know, survive.

Maybe they had a daily where they had to escape with a certain character?
My playstyle changes considerably depending on my dailies.

That is not my question. Everyone knows what is meant by “gen-rush”. I’m not talking about a team that innocently completes all gens or 2-3 in a few minutes. We all do that without intention because it’s the objective.
I’m speaking of teams that join a game to literally complete the gens as soon as possible. Are you challenging yourselves to do that? Or is that just your playstyle?
Me and my team usually just go with the flow and make fun of the game. Some games we pop gens fast bc of no ruin and others we spend the game saving each other with 1 gen completed every 2 minutes lol.
i guess my question is directed towards teams that join most of their games with 4 toolboxes and are done with 3 matches before I complete 1.

I’ve got the chase daily for 120 Second Chase with Laurie.
That would make sense for dailies.

This is more of a question for the devs

If everyone is doing gens unchecked, then you aren't putting on enough pressure. That isn't necessarily your fault, as many killers inherently struggle on larger, safer maps. Blame bhvr for not recognizing the flaws in their map designs.

Why do you think? I’m not targeting anyone, I just really want to know where the fun is in such quickly finished games.
are they challenging themselves? Being trolls (especially the ones that best a killer and waste time t bagging at the exit)? Or is it challenges? I barely follow challenges or the tomes anymore.

Yeah, I usually apply a ton of pressure on gens because I avoid loops. But it’s pretty difficult in red/purple ranks without ruin. Even then the gens get knocked out quick sometimes.
I think most experienced players know, the longer the game, the more BP so why finish the game and only get 13-15k Max BP? My team accidentally gen-rushed last night, and our top player who had 1 safe hook, had just under 14k BP. It wasn’t fun at all lol. So I can’t see the fun in intentional gen-rushing. That’s my opinion though!

The fun comes when the killer pressures the team and gives one or more moments where you're not sure if you will live or die. If the pressure never comes in one match it is sure to come in another. All we survivors can do is put the foot on the gas and wait.
That being said, I'm all for a vanilla version where noone has perks, add ons, or items because Dbd right now is a plethora of toxic crap reinforced by toxic strats. And literally noone fills their tub with sewage so why fill their minds with it?

As a killer main I understand where you're coming from. I don't think it's fair when I chase a survivor and I hook them approximately 2 gens are already done, Hex: Ruin doesn't phase people that can hit skill checks and is often cleansed within 30-60 seconds of a match and you have no influence over what happens during the match. But the good thing about a killer main is that you
adapt faster than survivors. You want to slow the gens you use Hex: Ruin, Pop goes the Weasel & Surge. Want to "Apply Pressure" you use Thanatophobia and Sloppy Butcher and want to give the survivors a piece of their own medicine use NOED.

They want to escape. You should better ask devs why they allow poor map designs and poor killer designs, who have no tools to play around pallets.

Yeah, I’m not going to say I main one or the other anymore as I play both evenly now. I take a break from my squad and let them go play while I play killer. But, we never understood those that finish a game so quickly, killer as well.
as a killer if I realize I’m way better than the survivors, I drag the game out with jump scares or chasing then vanishing leaving the survivor confused lol.
as a survivor, if we realize the killer isn’t that great we don’t go balls out and gen-rush, we try to maximize BP.
all my killers run ruin and pop, it’s my only viable counter to stalling gens.

True, some pallets are rather annoying.

Oh then you mean the dedicated teams that only have toolboxes. They just want to make the killer misserable

The devs thought freddy's slowdown addons were op, but a commodious is okay. No idea why. I'm not sayng a commodious is op, but the devs think freddy's slowdown addons were op for some reason, that scares me.

Teabagging the killer at the exit and trash talk in endgame chat.
Why you even asking?

Could be the dark sense challenge I know I used dark sense with a gen rush build to get that challenge
0 -
Lmao, I guess so.

Fun is subjective.
While I see no point as I like to play around and get as much BP as possible some are just purely put to escape.
Each person's goal is different in the and why you will also see killers who down multiple and slug with 5 gens and ruin up killing everyone in 2-3 mins. They go out to kill regardless of anything else.

Which I don’t understand. I had a team that gen-rushed me and were strong loopers, finally caught one. Hooked. Camped because EGC. Inbox was flooded lmao.

I started playing Freddy and even with slowdown and ruin, I still get gen-rushed against dedicated teams.
0 -
No doubt about that. I’m just wanting an inside view from these “dedicated teams” that go balls out every match.

Because nobody knows how the opposition is going to play. Personally, I always assume the worst now that the killer is going to tunnel and/or camp. Same reason I bring DS/BT every game. So yeah, I’m going to try to complete gens as quickly as I can, at least initially. If I see the killer doesn’t appear to be playing that way, then I’ll be more interested in other stuff like totems and chests.
