Pretty frustrating day so far as a solo survivor
Note, I play a lot of solo survivor. And I usually don’t get too frustrated in this role, but man.. I’m mentally wore down at the moment.
So far, 7 games in and each one has been unpleasant.
In 4 of the games the killer has dc’ed (normally, I wouldn’t be too frustrated, but I’m trying to do one of my final challenges that require me to escape 5 trials. I saved this one since I thought it would be easy lol. They were all when there was 1 gen or less).
In another one, I had a mate afk all game while the other two were downed 45 seconds into the match.
The other two games had me being found in the beginning, chased for 4-5 minutes and not single gen was done in either one during that time (as I was writing this, it happened a 3RD TIME. NOT EVEN JOKING. At least this killer didn’t BM, although I had two Claudette using UE the whole match). Not only that, but I had to deal with those pricks shaking their head at me for a few minutes and getting camped afterwards.
For those wondering, this is Rank 1 (there was a few purple, green and even yellows sprinkled in there).
I’m not complaining, even if it sounds like it. Just venting.

I feel you as a fellow red rank survivor. I usually laugh off when killer DCs mid-game but it does get annoying with challenges.
The teammate part though, I know from personal experience that its way too easy to get to high purple ranks and not that difficult to advance in reds. You can get to it before mastering looping or learning the maps.
Well now I am kinda complaining about the ranks, but that is something I always do. Good luck with your challenges o/

when "pretty good job so far" turns into "pretty frustrating so far" lawl.
Meanwhile i'm trying to do the Dark Senses challenge and every game there's BM and potato teammates. Post game its a rank 16-20 killers and 3 rank 19-20 survivor teammates regardless of my rank. My new years resolution might be to just be done with this nonsense.

I was pretty fortunate with the dark sense challenge. Ironically, I had a good teammate that game who ran the killer around the whole match while I just worked on my objective. The killer (Doctor) turned out to be a rank 10 with one perk. That perk was overwhelming presence at tier 1... feels bad for him.

Yeah I gave up on survivor for the day. It's fine if people want to play with their friends, but I don't like playing in a red rank lobby with a someone's rank 18 or rank 20 friend. Give me the option. Don't just throw me in a game with a new player.

I was playing some killer matches today, and I was pleasently surprised to get a good amount of actual meme-teams. People that genuily ######### around with their friends even on red ranks. I am happy to even give hatch versus those survivors.

Sounds really nice. Usually it’s just sweats who try to gen rush as fast as possible.

I've been playing solo all day and it's been great!

Damn, wish I could relate ):

You make it sound as if having a frustrating day as a solo survivor is an anomaly. Pretty par for the course.
1 -
Literally said I personally don’t get frustrated often. I know it’s often frustrating for others.

Run Bond and Prove Thyself. You can burn a shroud to spawn with a teammate. Always work on a gen with someone else, if possible. That's one fewer person who could finish a gen without you working on it. Bail early if the killer is approaching and leave your teammate to deal with them, because you're 100% going to be the gen jockey for this one. Let your teammates go for saves (within reason).

Good for you.

Yep, the point of the post was personal experience(s). Which I clearly stated.
0 -
Yep, and I was relaying my personal experience(s) and the general consensus of solo survivor with a small dose of sarcasm. You are way to set off by this. I'm sure you are a blast to hang out with.

Having one of those myself. I've been teamed up with survivors today that I can only assume are trying to complete last minute challenges because most of them have had zero interest in completing a generator.

I’m set off? How do you get that? Lol. You’re the one giving me a snarky reply, “good for you”. Thought I’d give one right back buddy (:

You mistook my perspective as not having read your post. Seemed to really set you off. Put "personally" in italics. Who does that? Screams of someone who often starts sentences with "Well actually..."

Well actually.. (jk)
It seemed like you were trying to dismiss what I had to say, as all you commented on was the norm of solo survivor being mostly frustrating. I put “personal” in italics to express that this isn’t a post about solo survivor in general.
I had no intention of being an ass or anything like that, so I apologize if I offended you.

No worries. I apologize if I offended you as well. I was not trying to be dismissive.

Well that got off topic.
Shrouds are pretty pointless at this point in the game. 90% of games I start with at least 1 survivor and 50% of the time they run off instead of joining me at the closest generator.
The Survivor main community needs to become closer and SWF more over solo queing. This game is designed for you to fail because killers who suck even against solo queues will get buffed, but then when killers go against good SWF groups, they can become toxic in future matches and try hard against solo queues. That being said, there are a lot of people who just want to log in and mess around, which is their prerogative, but that kind of gameplay can sabotage yours.
I just completed Adept Laurie, and one of the fellow Survivors was purposefully telling the killer where we were, which was already hard for me not to do with Object of Obsession running. They were probably pissed about something with my game play, but I was doing my best with that crappy perk on.

I use to play this game 8 hours a day. I bought a few DLCs here and there. 2019 was a VERY frustrating year for this game. Im hoping that the next update has some REVERTS in it.
