oNi Is GaRbAGe
Even with the Nerf he's still pretty decent.
I've seen people complain that he's bad but put in mind he's a new killer and he has a learning curve that's why people find him hard to play.

I play on Xbox really no excuse to say he's hard.
6 -
He's not garbage, but he's a shadow of his former self. They're planning on improving the feel of his flick, which hopefully fixes the major clunkiness of his power.
1 -
New killer? Learning curve? His "new flick" is, ironically, a hard ceiling not a learning curve. And the limit of that ceiling is as per usual these days, the survivors you face.
I'm not saying he's the weakest killer but as Puppers often says, he's just a very ######### Hillbilly.
19 -
Like I've always said the killer doesn't make the player good it's the player that makes the killer good.
4 -
The Oni's curve is not that great but just like Billy you need to know what curves you can hit and what curves you can't.
But to be honest I almost never use his curve unless I'm sure I can hit it.
3 -
Right now he is billy but have to charge before he can even use his power.
So yes he is garbage
19 -
Hes got less mind games with his power and is weaker at tiles in power than out of it...the loss 9f his flick has shown flaws in his kit that the flick previously covered for but no longer can..I've played enough oni to see why nobody plays him..I can kite a whole power meter off of oni on 1 tile..because they gave him no feints or baits like his other pallet smashing brethren..even leatherface has pallet minigames via saw and oni cant even do THAT..and if they dont give it to him hes screwed
4 -
Disagree, he requires more effort than any other insta down killer and isn’t rewarding enough to play as a result. He’s literally just Billy but worse which is why no one plays him at red ranks.
4 -
I like him more than Billy TBH, i tried going back to billy but his straight lines are pretty meh. I like with Oni you don't need to dash to get the insta down. do xbox red ranks count -_-
3 -
Three red ranks with self care? Spine chill, Lone survivor, Urban evasion, NO decisive... These guys are boosted as heck. I'm sorry but this pic is pretty meaningless in the debate.
It's like using a pic of a 4 man escape vs a vanilla Spirit to say she's so bad it's hilarious.
1 -
Perks don’t make people bad. I never leave home without spine chill and can still give red rank killers a good run. (Also sometimes use sc)
4 -
I also rarely use DS.

i mean that's one game out of many but ok chief
you see the perks, i see two toolboxes & one w/BNP, a key, a rainbow map, and a Badham offering
in any case.. i do alright with him in red ranks.. you don't always have to dash to use his power; i'm not sure why everyone gets hung up on that
2 -
True however they do change the outcome of the game. I'm not saying they were bad survivors but if you take the same situation, same surv, and change ONE perk it can greatly alter the outcome.
Quick example, a silent bell wraith hides in a corner to hit a surv healing. If they had sprint burst/dead hard they make it to a loop, if they don't they're downed and hooked. This has nothing to do with their skills since in this imaginary scenario it's the same person playing surv so same reflexes same everything; however just by design it would've been impossible for situation B to win this situation. This massively affects the outcome of the game since the surv that was running good perks managed to get maybe another gen or two by looping the killer for another 35 seconds, as a rough estimate.

They wouldn’t have been in that situation because of spine chill which is a very good perk.

I’m a console player and this is what I remind myself of when I first started playing him. There are loops with Billy you learn not to revv at until the pallet’s gone. Same with Oni.
After a few games I haven’t had an issue with him and drifting with him is a lot of fun.
Without his power, worst killer in the game. With his power, better then Billy. Better then a top three killer.

I mean, he was more difficult to learn when he had the flick imo. Now he's basically a killer with an ability that is almost entirely useless at loops. And with no lunge in his power, I don't feel like that's a good thing.
2 -
i don't understand this, just don't dash at loops. he has quicker vaulting in Blood Fury and can still one hit down through windows. Try using I'm All Ears.
1 -
His Demon Strike requires you to be very precise, and is basically useless at any loop that has a curved shape to it. Even on those short loops like the car it's bad because of the corners. It's only useful at windows in some situations, but other than that it is terrible. A killer with no normal lunge in his power should be compensated with something that can actually make an impact at loops. Oni before this recent flick nerf was perfect. Also, his vault speed in Blood Fury is the exact same as every other killer.
1 -
Ah, right. People just don't "get him" and there's a top secret way that these people need to learn for him to be fun to play.
Oh, wait. There isn't! It's almost like the devs are slowly perfecting how to make killers unfun to play, regardless of how good or bad they actually are. But at least survivors have fun :)

Not everyone cradles DS in red ranks little one.

Did I ever say everyone does? No, didn't think so.
If that's all your input then thanks. I guess.

are you on xbox live? i can't link to my captures on xbox.com because .. microsoft. if i try linking to my profile it would just ask you sign in.

He isn't hard to play at all. Just not that strong of a killer. There is no reason at all for me to choose him over most other killers that I can use their power whenever I want.
0 -
There really isn't an argument for Oni being good. Take any other killer and make them only have there power at certain times, make sure the survivors know when they have their power and know it's only for a short time....that equates to a not so great killer.
0 -
I think he's really good and i play on PS4 :/
Not op or anything but very strong.
2 -
Oni's power is stronger than any other while active.
0 -
I disagree with that completely but respect your opinion.
0 -
You could use that same argument for killers like Myers and Plague. They also have to build up their power and announce when they have it.
Oni gets a 1 shot like myers but can also zoom around.
Do you think they are weak as well?
1 -
Who has a power that is stronger?
0 -
I'm not him but Spirit, Nurse, Billy, Huntress, Hag and Freddy
0 -
They're all better than a dash into a far reaching, slightly turning, one shot? Not to mention the map pressure!
0 -
Just my opinion but billy. I have a one hit down and map pressure whenever I want.
I could also argue for many other killers that don't have garbage powers like legion because it's available more often than not.
0 -
Yes? He will never hit you if you simply turn a corner or two.
Compare him to Billy. Billy can do a faster dash Dash/1 shot with no build up or timer.
Others like Nurse/Spirit cant be looped normally a huge weakness onis power has.
0 -
I meant without factoring in availability. Glad to see you agree that Oni is the strongest killer with a power that's available constantly.
0 -
I don't see how being able to dash around is being looped normally especially because of how easy it is to turn while dashing and lack of collision. Billy does have build up.
0 -
Without factoring in availability? So who's power is stronger if we change factors around to make sure onis is the best? My bad, didn't realize that's what you were after.
0 -
Billy can use his 1 shot at any point in the match. Thats not build up. Oni has to collect blood/fill his power bar.
Oni does not have enough turn speed to turn at a loop to get hits if you go to a pallet bam you've beaten onis dash because he can't 180 anymore after nerfs.
0 -
I was just saying Oni's charge up to his power is balanced by how powerful it is. I agree Oni should be stronger with his demon strike but I disagree with those that claim Oni is a lame Billy clone.
1 -
I agree he should be able to 180 but it should be possible with a controller too. I have high hopes for Oni's future.
0 -
you seem to act like everyone should be, since his match cant be taken seriouly since they werent using the perks every other drone does.
0 -
Oni's flick makes his power extremely weak for something you have to work for, unlike billy who has a strong power who doesn't work for it, which the flick for Oni made him different than Billy all together, but now you have to hope the survivor has bad reflexes and not notice that you are swinging at them as the flick is about 20 degrees and survivors can move around it faster
0 -
I think if you demolish survivors a few games on console it's probably not due to onis strength it's down to potato survivors.
I also play Xbox and using his power is only really useful for movement. It's not that he's difficult to control, it's that you simply cannot have anywhere near the level of control which a Billy chainsaw gives.
He's not terrible but he's really frustrating to play on certain maps, plus he gets fat shamed on s lot of maps and his basic attacks often don't register at point blank range which is an issue.
You might play him well but while you're doing that you could be 5 times as lethal playing hillbilly.
2 -
Not per se a clone i would say, however a really good billy will outperform oni everytime as he simply doesn't need to m1 at all.
Matchstart, billy can get to survivor spawn and be in a chase while oni is walking over the map and the first gen pop. I doubt that oni is any better than billy, maybe when billy receives nerfs via "addon rework" they will be equal or oni even more powerful but for now billy comes out on top.

How old are you, 10? Just because you think you're special for not acknowledging how strong meta perks are doesn't make every high level player a drone.
I made a list of perks that good survivors who are playing TO WIN run in high ranks. With those builds I could win against that team and use it as an excuse that the Clown is an amazing killer and I completely decimated them.
0 -
He is not total trash, that is true, I still love him. But he used to be WAY better pre nerf. And even then, he was not OP. Very strong yes, probably even better than spirit in the right hands imo, but not OP. The nerf was unnessecary and just cut so much of his fun.
0 -
And: The learning curve stops with the natural limitations that devs decided to put on him. You can also tell a clown player that he has a "learning curve", still won't make up the fact, that clown is a pretty bad killer.

Billy can track injured people without simple bloodstains? Billy can use his power without running/charging? Billy can down multiple people with his ability if they're close?
Interesting. I may have to see this new billy
