New Player Issue
I've watched DBD for a while but only started playing a couple of weeks ago. I think I've picked it up relatively well, it definitely helps that I've watched streamers play a fair amount so I have an idea about tactics, map layouts etc...
The problem I have now is that I've got to Rank 11-12 and all I'm facing are red rank survivors, or at best, purple rank. I'm still trying to learn the game yet I'm being matched against people who have thousands of hours in the game?
I started playing 'The Cannibal' to unlock BBQ and Chilli but I'm now trying to learn other killers. So there's me, Rank 12... I have never thrown a hatchet before with Huntress trying to learn how to do it against a team of red rank survivors? I have 50 hours in the game. Why am I being matched with these people? It's not fun for me and it's not fun for the survivors I'm going up against that are having their time wasted. Not only is it glaringly obvious that I'm going to have to put at least 200-300 hours into the game to get decent loadouts for killer/survivor but I'm going to probably have to spend those 200-300 hours getting annihilated by people who have played the game for years.
Are there any plans for matchmaking to be changed? Or is this a stupid question? Thanks.

The matchmaking is currently bugged. Devs are aware and will fix it after their holiday vacation. Hopefully youll be matched up with those of similar rank soon.

Welcome to the jungle. I'm probably one of the strongest 130 hour killers in this game right now, because I've adapted to rank 1-8 survivor tactics. Hopefully matchmaking will get fixed, and the doctor rework will be good.

MM will be fixed.
Doctor Rework can't be worse than current Doc.

Yes, but the irritating thing is that the oni "fix" was out in no time, yet matchmaking has been busted for nearly a month and NOTHING. Have you met BHVR? It can always get worse.

The Oni fix came out so fast because of the relatively gamebreaking basement bug.
I am well aware of the current issues.
I also know BHVR is a company. They won't make money if they don't make good product. This just happened at an unfortunate time, they will fix it.

They're an arrogant company that has no competition, so they believe they will make money regardless of quality.

You are biased and looking to start a fight.
You refuse to see any facts but the one's that support your argument.
The Devs went on holiday because it is Christmas. They knew of the issues beforehand and likely started working on a fix. However, they did not want to risk further breaking the game by pushing out an untested patch before going on holiday, therefore potentially leaving a completely broken game for 2 weeks. They chose the wise route of waiting and pushing out a better product later. Unfortunately, it seems some people cannot wait and would rather have a game that does not work at all.
I get it, it is frustrating. Trust me, I know. You just have to suffer through it.

I like it... but I do admit when I play terribly I see red and purple ranks (I am in the green ranks as killer)

They left it as a completely broken game. How many players do you think they lost due to brand new killers waiting 20+ minutes only to get destroyed by survivors they shouldn't be playing against? By your logic, they never should have put out Oni so close to their break. They have zero effs to give about their playerbase, they got a cash grab with Oni and called it a day.

The game is garbage anymore BHVR only cares about turning this into Barbie and Ken dress up simulator littered with micro-transactions.
BHVR developers are grossly out of their league, lack the skill-set needed to get this game out of the alpha state, and management there has likely not played a video game in years.
Look at Mr. Cote's game as hag. This is the director of the game, and he literally has not even the basic skills down as killer. Well, I guess if Donald Trump can somehow get elected to leader of the worlds most powerful military, Cote being a game director for DBD shouldn't surprise me all that much because they make about the same amount of sense.
