Ruin nerf isnt that bad but it brings new issues to attention

Yes ruin is obviously different than it was before but I think it is still viable just not mandatory. I think the majority of people are forming opinions before even seeing it in action. the devs have been coming out with other generator stalling perks lately that there are some replacement perks for ruin ready for their time to shine. I will say now that I am a survivor main, however I do play a lot of killer. And I know people are complaining about how the time it takes to complete a gen should have been increased and that is a possible solution but I think the more frustrating thing for killers is the amount of pallets on each map.

I have been playing killer exclusively the past couple days trying to finish my archive challenges and have noticed that in games where I take ruin and it gets cleansed right away or games where I don't take ruin that I spend the entire game chasing someone while they loop a pallet once, drop it, and move onto the next. and by the time the survivor has used every pallet every gen is done. And that is extremely frustrating so I understand where killers are coming from. and bloodlusting at a dropped pallet just takes more time than just breaking it. and spirit fury speeds things up a bit but not enough to matter imo. So with ruin no longer stalling gens that are actively being worked on I have no way to stop the 3 other people from doing gens while I chase the one person around from pallet to pallet.

so while im confident that killers will find a new playstyle soon after the next patch to accommodate the ruin nerf I still believe that something needs to be done about map design. because the amount of pallets on the map will become even more evident with this new patch and lets hope the devs realize it and do something about it whether its increasing the distance between jungle gyms, removing some pallets, or increasing gen times. Again I am a survivor main but I play both and want to enjoy playing both but I will definitely be hesitant to play killer right away when the next patch comes out.

Thanks for listening to my rant and hopefully you can agree with it or at least understand where I'm coming from. The game needed to be mixed up a bit and I think if the devs can find a way to fix the map layouts I think the ruin change will go over better with everyone.

Wow an opinion from survivor main that isn't just "APPLY PRESSURE CRUTCH KILLER", pretty rare these days and worth the read. Me personally I'd like to see certain maps reduced in size and the number of pallets lowered slightly, that would make weaker killers viable without making high mobility killers disgusting.

I played a few games today, survivor for the sake of queue

1 game on Temple took 4:52 timed from start until final gen popped. Coal tower lasted around 8 minutes, and most other games were of similar length or at least no longer than 10 minutes

New ruin is useless, and the bigger maps compound it, just as myself and others predicted.
