Dead Hard should be nerfed to compensate Ruin rework..
Decisive Strike, Borrowed Time, Dead Hard, Unbreakable, Styptic Agent, Deliverance, Flashlights, Adrenaline, etc.
All these second chances are fairly situational.
DS can be pretty much ignored by not tunneling or slugging, the same thing with BT. Flashlights are fair at saving people, Adrenaline rewards surviving, Unbreakable is situational, Styptic is a bit unfair, but it is addon, very rare addon, Deliverance is risky..
But Dead Hard being a "Second Chance"-like perk doesn't really need conditions. It prevents Survivors from punishment for doing critical mistakes. It used by expirienced Survivors for abusing loops.
Dead Hard is too strong against certain Killers. For Nurse DH is a free dodge or a FREE HIT POINT. on each Survivor. Jumping through traps, 4.4 m/s-ing the Spirit, trivializing Pig's Ambush.. holy crap..
Dead Hard does too much for being just a one perk.
Dead Hard is a huge the Killer's time wasting perk, it should be nerfed to compensate Killer's stressfulness and Hex: Ruin rework.

Dead hard needs a complete rework. Even average survivors will use it to get to pallets/windows and it punishes the killer anytime they outplay survivors.

Dead Hard is already in a pretty bad spot due to wonkiness with the dedicated servers, but even when it works fine, I don't have a problem playing against it. Most of the time you can just walk right next to them and make the perk completely useless.

Dead Hard is a garbage perk. Half the time it doesn't work. Half the time the killer just waits. If you are lucky you can get the killer to whiff once. If you use it for distance you might as well just play it safer and drop the pallet 1 loop earlier.

(I don't think dead hard needs a nerf, this is a meme) because it's unfun for the other side! That's why ruin got nerfed and it was necessarily hard to hit greats or cleanse the totem

Is it though? I'm currently finding it less reliable than it used to be on console, and console doesn't have dedicated servers.

Kinda is, more often than not you'll find yourself in situation where you need to use it because you expect to get fantom hit in the butt, wich would have been a complete waste on P2P with good ping. And dedicated servers rendered the 40% of times where it would "bug" into 70 to 80 depending of wether or not servers are in a good mood and pratically never work if they start lifting their arm when you use it.

Decisive Strike: Slug or just don't go after that person for 60 seconds? Can't be THAT hard to avoid them.
Borrowed Time: Don't tunnel? Go after the person unhooking.
Unbreakable: Don't slug.
Styptic: Wait it out.
Deliverance: How is this perk even a problem hello?
Flashlights: Face a wall, look up, wait it out.
Dead hard: Wait it out. Use it for distance, they most likely still won't get much more time after it.
Adrenaline: It's a reward for completing the objective, and a punishment for a killer failing theirs. But, a counter would be noed so that exists.
Guess you just want survivors to walk around like headless chickens so you can 4k every game. Killer really isn't THAT hard idk why you're making a big deal about it lmao.

Dead Hard is not just a second chance. It works all the time if Survivors are expirienced,

I wouldn't mind if they removed the dash tbh, most people only care about the invincibility frames they could maybe buff the I frames as compensation for removing the dash.

I don't think Dead Hard needs nerfing. Decisive Strike must be nerfed.
In general, there is a lot of perks that give survivors second chances. This is a separate issue that should and can be addressed.
For example, perks can be categorized. Second-chance perks, healing perks, repairing/sabotaging perks, etc. And then it would be possible to have a limit, like "no more than 2 perks of the same catgeory can be equipped". This way you can't have DH, Unbreakable and DS at the same time, because they all would be categorized as second-chance perks.

Or you could be like any high rank killer who thinks properly. Since it's almost in every single build, almost everyone brings it. So you could just ride their butt for the literal 2 seconds to see if they're going to use it. Because most people do...

You're gonna do that when they use it to get to pallets and windows are you? You won't be close enough to hit them because they'll use DH to get more distance before you can get behind them. Which gives them a free window or pallet. Read the comment properly next time yeah...

much like ruin was garbage, half the time it gets destroyed within the first minute and if it didn't good players pretty much ignored it and hit great skill checks anyway, but that still got nerfed so....?

Dead hard is bugged as heck right now (often exhaust survivor who got it without it even showing animation) and can be easly baited. You can also lunge to hit them at the very end of animation. It is once per chase aswell, this perk is not a problem. Unbalanced maps are.

I’d disagree but I’ve noticed I’m pretty much every game I play, as killer and survivor, almost every survivor is running dead hard. I’m talking 3/4 of the players each game. I’m the only one who doesn’t use it because I prefer adrenaline but I agree. I think dead hard is more popular than decisive tbh, and I’m on PS4 going against purple ranks.

@MrsGhostface Dead hard gives you this confidence to try and get another loop without throwing pallet. And its win-win scenario. He respected pallet - free loop, he didn't - still can avoid hit and get to the pallet.
Every exhaustion perk is very good (except locker one, its for memes) but you need to play arround - don't vault windows carelessly to not waste Feng perk ect- dead hard is uniwersal.

Noed can work all the time if the killer is experienced.
Dead hard is a punishment for the killer if they fail to end the chase quickly by not using an instant down killer.

....If they are injured and not healing, even your M1 is an instadown, who cares about dead hard giving them 1 extra loop, they have an entire health state less to deal with which takes far more time. It is substantially easier with someone like billy or leatherface to tag someone with an M1 while vaulting or pallet trading than it is to catch them in a bad area instantly with a chainsaw.
Like, you just have to understand how to play an M1 killer properly and then apply it.

Dead hard is one of the hardest to use effectively, and isn't that big a deal (just bait it out)
If any other exhaustion perks are on the chopping block, it would be SB imo, but even then its not the most egregious thing in the game.

"Just bait it out" when they dead hard to a pallet it doesn't matter, they get free distance and get a safe loop, good players don't try to bait a swing, they use it to extend loops that can totally cripple a killer, the fact that they can make a mistake and not get punished for it isn't exactly fair

Agreed - Dead Hard is too sluggish, especially with dedicated servers now you have to activate it way before you need it - sometimes it does not activate in time yet you still get the exhausted status saying it did.

Nerfing Dead Hard doesn't compensate for anything. A perk that is very inconsistent due to dedicated servers that can be countered by properly timing lunges even when it wasn't getting borked by dedicated servers.
