PTB First Impressions

I managed to play a few matches as the killer and focused only on Doc and ruin mostly, but i played the game without mories on purple ranks against other purple ranks and even red ranks.

  1. New ultra rare Add-on. I used it on all games and it didn't help me at all. Most times i heard the screams during a chase and by the time i could focus on other survivor the trail would have been cold already. Also not getting a bubble notification doesn't help because you only get a small sense of where the survivor is, instead of a more accurate location. I my opinion it's not justifying the rarity for what it gives.
  2. Doctor changes. The removal of the stances was a good change but the 3 second cooldown made the change useless ( or even worse). Before, if you manage to land a hit with the shock and block the survivor you had to change the stance which wasted a few seconds (2 or 3 i'm not sure) and this cooldown basically negates the buff to the removal of the need to switch. About Static Blast i don't have an opinion yet, the only good use i found for it was if i want to avoid DS i can proc it and when it's recharged i can safely pick the survivor( if i manage to down him of course). Other than that Doc is still the same M1 killer that struggles with looping so nothing seems to be changed.
  3. Now onto Ruin. As the devs mentioned ruin is now a mid-late game perk. Well the only problem is that in all matches it didn't last more that 2 minutes. Well i wan't surprised there but the issue was that gens popped like i was playing without ruin (and it was still up). Now i want to give an example from one match i had. At the start i patrolled the gens and found 2 survivors at a gen. I started to chase one but i quickly heard the other as i only saw one first and decided to push both of them away from that gen. I commit to chase the second survivor but by the time i down him the other 2 survivors pop 2 gens because i can't throw all of them off the gens and the last one cleansed ruin.
  4. Lery Map change. I am really pleased by the visual aspect of the map as it feels like a real place compared to the old version. But, they need to increase the brightness a little because i had to afk to turn the brightness to the max on my monitor so i can see. I tried to play with my usual set-up but it was so dark in some places that i legit lost survivors mid chase or got stunned by pallets i didn't even see.
  5. Gate Keeper Emblem. Well i was looking forward to see the changes to it but i was disappointed to see that it is bugged as it does not count the generators remaining or the fact that no gates were opened as it was stated in the designer notes (or patch notes). I hope they fix this bug soon because then we cannot test to see if the change is good or not.

As a summary so far i only have to say that Doctor doesn't feel like it was improved so i don't see a reason to pick him more than i already did (aka never). Ruin is borderline useless now. And the map needs a little bit of brightness increase. I'll keep trying to play doctor more so i can have a better understanding of him, and if he might be viable, and try ruin on other killers and builds.
