Can survivors be slowed during the on-hit sprint?

Say I throw a bottle at a survivor before hitting them, will they be slowed during the on-hit sprint?

If you throw it in front of them then hit and they sprint into it yes they should slow down.

Use Huntress. Hit them with a close range hatchet, then with your axe immediately afterward. You don’t hafta wait as long as the melee attack cooldown. Any speed burst they get helps them very little since you’re already ready

Also, and I maybe wrong here, but I‘m not sure they even get a speed burst from hatchet hits. (It’s been a while for me)

I just realised that the on hit sprint lasts 2 seconds while the hindered effect lingers for 2.5 seconds after exiting the gas, according to the Wiki. Say I throw a bottle directly on the survivor just before hitting them, does this mean that they will be slowed for 0.5 seconds after the on hit sprint ends?
