We have temporarily disabled Firecrackers and the Flashbang Perk due to a bug which could cause the Killer's game to crash. These will be re-enabled in an upcoming patch when the issue is resolved.

I’m Doing a Ruin Test Before The Patch Is Out

Whether you love or hate Ruin as a killer (most likely love) or survivor (most likely hate), you’ve acknowledged it’s power as a ‘potentially’ powerful early game perk.

I honestly think Ruin needed a change, BUT I also am concerned about generators themselves, especially against certain killers.


I’m doing a test with ALL the killers to see how each of them do WITHOUT using the perk RUIN and how they do WITH RUIN (10 games each).

Across 20 games with EACH killer, this is the data I will be keeping track of:

  1. The perks I used
  2. The perks the survivors used
  3. The ranks of survivors
  4. The maps
  5. Add ons I used
  6. Items/offerings survivors used
  7. How many kills I got/ How many survivors escaped
  8. How fast the match ends. (I’ll have various of points to make out. Like if it was because I killed them quick, or if they did the gens quick).

I want to get an understanding of how fast games will go without Ruin.


Some conditions for me:

  1. I will not be using NOED. I want the best data possible and I feel NOED might hurt that.
  2. No Add ons above green rarity. (Exception: No instasaw on Billy).
  3. No Offerings that aren’t bloodpoints.
  4. I won’t face camp or anything boring that’s similar (not like I do that anyways).

I will slug if I NEED to. I might add that into the data.

Notes-

  1. This will be played at Rank 1.
  2. My projections on how much time it will take to complete this is about 65-70 hours.
  3. I plan to have this out sometime between January 18th -20th.
  4. If a survivor DCs early into the match, I’ll keep track of that game, but redo another.

(LET ME KNOW IF I’M FORGETTING SOMETHING IMPORTANT TO KEEP TRACK OF OR IF I SHOULD ADD ANY OTHER CONDITIONS AS I WILL BE STARTING THIS TONIGHT, OR TOMORROW MORNING)

EDIT: forgot to actually state that this is a test based on not using Ruin.

EDIT 2: Forgot about the other part in playing WITH Ruin to get an actual understanding. I’ve made the decision to shorten them to each 10 games with Ruin and 10 games Without Ruin, per killer.
