Killer fix - Lower rank(higher?) provides speed buff
I'm relatively new to the game. It seems to me that as my killer just got rank 10 that the game has become terribly upsetting.
Rank 20 to 15 was great fun.
15-12 was OK with the occasional pro looper or teabagger who knew every pallet and every loop and exploited them all to full benefit.
11-10 has been a total nightmare. Occasional rank 2 players coming in and making a JOKE out of my killer. Constant rank 5-8 endlessly looping me and baiting me away from their team mates. Every pallet. Every window with Lithe. My ruin lasts less than a minute. Are there limited spawn points for the damn thing? How is it found so quickly! SWF making a joke of me.
At rank 11-10 I really struggle to get every hook. I'm lucky to sacrifice 1. I consider 2k a huge win. I had one huge jerk as the last survivor. He looped me for 20 minutes then DCed............ In the chat after he was proud and really condescending.
How is that even possible???!!!!
There is a clear advantage for survivors as you level up. Perk set ups paired with HUGE map design flaws paired with broken mechanics lead to a situation where I have my hands full with 1 survivor let alone 4. Its to the point where 1 strong survivor working on a Genny near a solid loop is either left to finish or takes you away from his 3 team mates for so long you lose another 2 Gennies.
SOLUTION - As a killer lvls up(or down?) his move speed should increase.

Survivors always have an insane advantage in this game.
The difference however is that high ranks have more hours / game knowledge and know how to abuse looping etc.My tips:
You should always tunnel the weakest survivor , there is no reason not to do that.
Camp when survivors are close or if you face a SWF, SWF are always overaltruistic, try to use that.if that doesnt help you, you can always derank back to the ranks where you enjoyed the game, you dont get anything from being high rank anyway (do it with afk games please, not by DCing)

For your question about Ruin... Yes, the totems have limited spawn points. Experienced survivors will know all of those spawn points. Additionally, if any member of an SWF group sees your totem, all of them know where it is. On top of all that, it's not that unusual for a survivor to see an active totem as the camera pans around them at the start of the match.
If by some miracle Ruin lasts the whole match, experienced survivors can just power through it anyway. Even if they get all good skill checks (No greats), it only adds about 30 seconds on average to a solo gen.
Those reasons are why I stopped using Ruin. I use Knock Out or Sloppy Butcher to slow the game down now.0
