    DBD is a competitive game and competitive games are balanced around the assumed highest skill level. This is because what may be a problem for an inexperienced player is something that is perfectly fine or even trivial for someone who understands the game better. Case in point: The Ruin nerf. They're changing it not because it's strong but instead because it negatively effects new players. They're incapable of properly hitting skill checks so it makes the game harder for them, and now they're gutting the perk all together.


    Sure, you can say that "if it's not working properly against red ranks then why does it matter if it gets removed?", but you're missing 2 key points. The first is that this entire thing clearly shows the developers aren't interested in balancing out gen speed issues for killers and are more interested in pandering to new survivor players. The second issue is that while it wasn't effective against every single survivor in every single match it still managed to slow some of them down. Ruin is/was our only decently strong tool at slowing down survivors and now that's getting removed completely.

    I urge everyone to actually go look at Gen speed and see the math for themselves so they can realize that new Ruin will be statistically pointless and will have 0 impact on games.
