Just remember 1 important thing about current Ruin.
Even with the current "strong" version, Red Rank games are still having most if not all Gens finished by 5-7 minutes.
Obviously this isn't a universal fact of every single match, but it's also still a very common thing. The players won't even waste time looking for Ruin and just ignore it, unless of course they don't find it by accident in the first minute.
Even if I ignore my own matches where this happens, if you watch killer mains at all you'll notice this as well. Watching an Otzdarva or Tru3ta1ent video, they're juggling 1-2 survivors, then some how by the 6 minute mark there's magically only a single gen left. Even when they seemed to have been really keeping the whole survivor team busy the gens just somehow disappear like nothing, and Ruin just stays up as if it's not even working at all.
Imagine what that'll be like when there is no Ruin to stop them. Granted, a lot of people will probably mellow out and won't focus so hard on hitting those great skill checks. But there will still be a minority of survivors who keep at it. With a Toolbox in hand and Great skill checks all around Gens will start melting away like they never even existed.

Gens are definitely far to fast, doesn't mean that Survivors can't still ######### up during the process and die for it. Tru3 is still a pretty good killer and also a good study for Red Rank games, even though I do agree he very often says/does things that just make him out to be a complete and utter idiot.

worst thing is,the gens in the video didn't go nearly as fast as they could have in some games. Really nicely made video tho,i hope all the "gen speed is fine people" respond to this

in some games he took 1 or 2 totems, he could get the gens done a lot quicker with like 20 seconds or something like that. he didn't focus only on generators.

The thing is, YOU should prevent the Gens from popping, not any Perk. And well, of course a Gen pops in 25 seconds, when the Maps are big and Survivors spawn together (which cannot be correct, almost every time all 4 Survivors spawn at the same place, this was not the case a few patches ago...).

I mean saying you should prevent is such a dumb argument because you should heal yourself, not adrenaline. You should wiggle out, not DS. Perks have effects, gen regression is just one of those

Can we talk about ruin without talking about red ranks? While lm sure that most people who have an issue with it being changed are at that rank, I have a hard time believing most of the population is at that level. In my games, at green ranks, gens arent done in 5-7 minutes *without* ruin, and it's even longer in lower ranks.
While I can understand the frustration the changes *can* cause at max rank, that's not where most players, and certainly not new players, will rest.
What I can say is that I feel this change will be healthier for those lower ranks/new players as we wont be nearly as frustrated because while red ranks can instantly find the totem, or hit *every* great check, I sure as heck cannot. I had a game the other day that took like 40 minutes because the killer couldn't catch us, and we couldn't do gens. That was abysmal. These changes will make that problem significantly less likely, and hopefully get more players in and retain them.
I know this post is dragging on, so one final point. If red ranks can beat through Ruin *anyway*, I'm not sure why it bothers those of that rank anyway. If ruin only delays the game like 30 seconds, it's not that big of a deal to lose it.

Something i should mention, new gatekeeper is based around gens and gates lasting beyond 9 minutes which just isnt happening even against mediocre teams
Meaning even with 4k you can still lose your gatekeeper emblem cause they got gens done that fast

So it doesn't matter if they have Ruin or not... So the Ruin change is ok then, since it didn't really matter anyways.

Yeah and killers want to have a chance to prevent the gen from popping that is basicly the reason for the whole discussion. Ruin did that in most cases because lets be honest here not every survivor can hit consistent great skillchecks so even when they do stack on a gen, people usually had a chance to chase them off of it. The devs
removechange hex:ruin but the killer (depending on which he plays ) still has no chance to chase people off the gen.A week or two ago i had a match as clown, red forrest, discordance equip and i ######### you not, one gen is shown yellow and another at the other end of the map. Felt great.

Did you see the matchmaking on the results screens? Several of those games at the beginning were are rank 10 killer against a bunch of red rank survs.......

Yes something very common nowadays. There are several threads even on this forum pointing out how busted mm is, which also is the reason why ranking down changes nothing.

I stopped running ruin about 3 months ago, because it's soo unreliable. I usually run corrupt and pop now. I have a 75% success rate of a 4k and that's being modest. If I don't 4k, who cares, ggwp start another match.... it's just a game.

Tru3 plays this game for a living and is very good at it. He is still entitled to an opinion and you cannot hold his level of play to that of other players.
I mean damn that Fireman was able to put that house fire out no problem with a house so why does my house still burn when I try?

If you 4k before 9 minutes, you still get credit for your gens up to the 9-minute mark.

Gen speed should be changed individually.
For example playing vs a billy= 80s (as It Is rn)

Doesn't a 4K in 9 minutes mean ending 12 chases in 9 minutes? You'd need to find four survivors and end four chases in three minutes. I honestly don't see that happening against a good team of survivors.

The thing about leveling the game with the bad ranks is that you arent comparing mechanic versus mechanic, but rather a side commiting plenty of mistakes versus another one doing the same. The balance should be looked on the red ranks because they are the place where people make less mistakes and the perks balance becomes clearer

No, sometimes people die on first hook. Or with two hooks instead of three. Sometimes they just come to you and you don't really have to chase them (read: you're near a Survivor on hook and the other goes for an unsafe unhook).

More likely 10 chases. You don't need to 3 hook all 4 Survivors, even if you are trying to min max hook perks and devout.

It's true that happens sometimes, but judging by my experience that's not very common; most of the time survivors go for the save before someone reaches the second stage of the sacrifice or gets sacrificed. And most high rank killers don't stay near the hooks, because they'd rather pressure the gens instead - but maybe things are about to change.

I've had games end alot sooner than that due to being able to snowball hard with abit of slugging or just being able to intercept rescue attempts and down would be rescuers before they can unhook their teammates. Ive also had plenty of cases where the last guy to die had never been hooked previously. Add in things like infectious fright and 1 shot killers... you can get downs pretty rapidly if ya catch people out.

Me too. I've ended games in 6 minutes with certain killers sometimes and also had my team wiped out in 6 minutres, it's just that these scenarios aren't very common, specially not likely to happen with most killers.

It COULD though, lol. Ive ended a game in 2 minutes with OG Freddy, right before his rework. Typically other times this happens though, its with 1 shot killers like Billy.

If matches are completed in 5-7 minutes and survivors EXPECT you to get 3 hooks on everyone, that's basically 2 hooks per minute consistently.

Honestly, when a game can end in 6 minutes or less with low tier killers I personally tend to question my opponents' skill rather than thinking I outplayed good survivors, but that's me.
What I'm saying is coming from a scenario in which you are actually playing against a good team. Judging by my own experience playing every killer and not just the top tier, I have difficulties seeing that happening, it may be possible, but extremely rare, unless you are playing killers like Oni, Billy or Nurse.

All I know is, I'm gonna have to ignore playing like a 1/3 (maybe even 1/2) of the killer roster once the changes go live because I'm not about that slug/tunnel/camp life, but that's the only way some of the weaker killers will be able to compete.
I do think AT LEAST the toolboxes should have been adjusted alongside ruin.

Old Freddy with old "class photo" and the add-on that increase the sleeping range power (can't remember it's name) was the best strongest thing ever. Even more then anything new Freddy has now. Had so much fun with that build and devour hope combined together
And cause of Freddy many weaknesses or flaws it was pretty fair.

Current ruin may be good where it is. New ruin may be a bad change. Or maybe it's the other way around idk, I respect either opinion but saying current ruin needs a buff is ridiculous and I think u need to learn how to pressure

Thats actually exactly the addons I was using, lol. I was using coldwind farm map offerings because I liked using him on rotten fields. Being able to sweep the beam across the corn...bliss.

But he showing a issue that alot of Killers go through and while he has the skill to get 4K even in those tough situation it has not been fun for him. The reason why Tru3 is mentioned so much is that he actually one of the few dbd streamers that will actually call out issues of the game and he has said it so many times at the current moment the killers are in a bad spot and about to get worse.
