as a survivor main with the new ruin..
i’m honestly very disappointed and annoyed with the changes. it wasn’t HARD to work through ruin, but i understand that isn’t the point. the only reason killers run ruin as much is because we ALL know gen rushing and speed is a problem, and has been for a while. THATS why they run ruin because nobody wants a game to end within 4 minutes after having waited 20 minutes to even find a game.
nobody likes to go for totems or chests. they just want to gen rush, and that’s it.
BHVR needs to up the time required for gens to be done, or add a feature where if more than one survivor is on a generator then there should be twice the skill checks. SOMETHING to help the gen rushing problem.
but removing the one perk that helped counter this? i’ll never understand it.

If chests rewarded you with 500 points you bet your ass I'd use shiny coins and get that sweet sweet easy objective points

But it didn't counter gen rushing.... Even high rank killers tell you that high rank/skilled survivors just plowed through Ruin, or the totem gets cleansed right away, making Ruin useless.
So high ranked players aren't the issue. Thus the change doesn't really matter, since it will only hurt lower skilled players, who just need to learn and play better.
More skill checks means gens go faster, since the high ranked/skilled survivors will nail them almost all the time.
We've seen what happens when you use a Forever Freddy... Survivors DC cause it makes it a very long ass boring match. Maybe there is a middle ground?... Maybe.

Chests now take 30 seconds to open, rewards 5000 bloodpoints in "give killer some time" category.

Forever Freddy was only boring if he was garbage. If he wasn't, then there was nothing forever about it. xD Unrelated, I'm sorry.
