Corrupt Intervention Dilemma
After Ruin rework's announcement I've been debating with myself if it's worth investing 9000 shards on Plague just for Corrupt Intervention.
I'm currently trying to adapt by not running Ruin on anything, yet I find very hard to go out of my confort zone when selecting the Killer, I've not played Trapper, Billy, Spirit because I feel like gens would simply get repaired before I could even understand what was happening.
I don't know if CI would help, I don't feel like it's a must on most killer to the point that the alternative is to not spend said shards, hoard them for Shrine Perks ("Maybe next week will have CI" mentality) or for the next non-licensed Killer (earliest March-April I guess).
Is there anyone playing at high-Purples/low-Reds that could give me their opinion on said Perk and its viability/necessity? It's not to discredit anyone below, that's my rank and I don't really know how different the environment is below or above it, I'm sorry about that.
I feel very hard to justify such a big investment just for a Perk, a Killer I don't think I'll enjoy and two other Perks that I find just unplayable.

corrupt intervention works well only on trap setting killers, hence hag or trapper (can work also on Myers). It will never replace ruin in terms of strength and stall potential, survivor can just wait 2 minutes, hiding in lockers or in the corners of the map, and if you keep looking for them, without doing anything productive, then it's a wasted slot.
but plague is good for infectious fright.

As a purple killer, was red before I went “survivor main,” I have run it a lot even before Ruin nerf announced. It doesn’t slow progress, but it means only 4 gens can be worked at the start so your patrol route is a lot smaller and you can push people off gens. It also helps finding that first survivor quicker.
As a survivor, it’s annoying because you spawn next to a gen and can’t work it so you know you have to go closer to the killer if you wanna do anything.
There are workarounds, some people will spend that two minutes just hunting chests and totems in that side of the map so you still won’t see them. But that means they aren’t popping gens either.
I started trying Whispers to just find people sooner, if you’re asking if you should buy and level a killer just for Corrupt I would day no. But it’s not a terrible idea.

Haven't played much with curropt intervention but infectious fright is pretty good for snowballing, and dark devotion is an amazingly fun perk that will make you laugh as survivors run towards you
Almost all plague's perks are useable in their own right

Cl is a pretty good perk imo. It has replaced ruin on all the killers i used it. I'm pretty happy with it,it doesn't do as good of a job as ruin but it will help me become even better at the game,so yeah it's worth it i'd say.

I switched to Corrupt for both Huntress and Trapper since those are the only 2 killers I really use Ruin often.
For Huntress it's nice because it's less gens to patrol at the start meaning you can find survivors grouped up more and get more pressure going early.
For Trapper it's nice to have a space you can basically ignore when setting up traps.
Basically it shrinks the playing field for the first 2 minutes of the game.
Honestly if you want to try something to slow the game use Sloppy and Thana. It's actually really effective, just it takes a little time to get going. 1 or 2 gens will pop before you really get value out of it, but once everyone is injured you get a lot of breathing room as they will often focus on healing first.

I would even say Corrupt works well with Sloppy and Thana because it helps you find that first survivor or two and get early hits for early healing pressure. Make the fourth slot Nurse calling and you have tracking out of the gate too.

Corrupt Intervention is overrated, but Infectious Fright is really good and you might want to slug more after the Ruin nerf.

I like how you assume Good survivors will let you injure them all in that amount of time.
0 -
Not assuming. I use this combo on a few killers it is very effective for a hit and run style.
If you are the type to chase one survivor until you down them, no it won't work.

I use PoP. Anti-genPoP.. :D

I am guessing wraith ghost face and legion?
Everyone else you can run from and get to a loop path thanks to the terror rad.

Corrupt Intervention works best on trap setting Killers like Hag or Trapper, but it also works good with stealth Killers like Wraith or Ghostface.
I stopped using Ruin when they announced the Ruin nerf, but even with CI gens go too fast tbh.

Spirit and Ghostface I found to be the most effective. Legion and Plague only need Thana because survivors don't heal against them anyway. I don't play Wraith or Myers but yea it's good for them too.
I also found it effective on Trapper, Nurse, and Clown.
What ends up happening is that survivors start healing to get rid of Thana but then because of Sloppy it takes a lot of time to heal. Once you get them sucked into that healing vortex you can keep them busy for a while and off gens. If they decide to forgo healing for gens, well they are slowed down by Thana. It's a catch 22; either spend a lot of time healing or spend a lot of time doing gens.

I find my survivors just ignore it and sit on gens.
Thana doesn't stop gen progress, it is actually rare for survivors to bother healing in most of my games as killer or survivor and i don't heal either.
It is to easy to waste the killers time and you have to many lives and second chance perks.

Thana is mostly a placebo effect, so they can still easily repair though it.

Dude nothing STOPS gen progress, but when everyone is injured trust me they feel Thana very hard. At base with no other buffs/debuffs, 4 stacks of Thana increases gen time to 95.2s. That is pretty significant, especially if you catching survivors quickly and/or chasing them away from gens.
You really should try it before you knock it. It is highly effective. The only real counter is to team up on gens, at which point you could just use Discordance and keep them injured even more.

SMH it's really not.
When 1 person is injured it won't do much.
When all 4 are injured it will slow down the game A LOT.
I don't get why people sleep on Thana. It is really effective when everyone is injured.
Also you can repair through anything, even current Ruin. So I don't get what point you are trying to make honestly. The idea is to slow them down to give you more time as killer, either by forcing them to heal or actually slowing gen progress. It's not supposed to outright stop them. NOTHING can outright stop them.

It's still garbage and a placebo effect most of the time. And when it gets value, if it gets value, it's probably too late and you can still easily counter it with a toolbox or medkit.

To be fair, I've never run ruin. I disliked playing against it as survivor and I try to play fun and fair builds.
However, I will admit that I do enjoy running Corrupt, I think its better than ruin, because it can't be cleansed in 30 seconds. It can never carry you to a 4k because unlike ruin its on a timer. Meaning you have to use your time well.
It has helped me get 1 to 2 hooks before the timer was up which insures that I get my 4 stacks of BBQ and usually at least 2 hook deaths. Which to me either 4 stacks or 2 hook kills is a win in my book.
I would say its a wonderful perk if you are look for early game map pressure.
PS: I've played with Corrupt for quite some time now, and to all of the people who say everyone just hides for 2 minutes, I've seen that like twice maybe. Maybe its region I am in NA, but its not that big of a deal. You don't need to "win" every single game you play. Sometimes you lose, it happens.

Thank you all for your valuable inputs :)
I was kinda worried about CI forcing dumb players not to 3 Gen themself but after some thought I guess I shouldn't really think about the 3 Gen situation.
