Bhvr has to break the game to find out whats wrong with it
So they can't tell what gen speeds are because ruin slows down said gen speeds so therefor remove ruin 🙃 this excuse and saying killer is easy(its not but most survivors suck at DBD) are the most absurd things excuses i've heard so far.

If they really wanted data on vanilla geneeratorspeed, they would also remove toolboxes. But survivors would lose their mind over that, so that's not happening obviously.

it just shows they DONT listen to their community at all, for a LONG TIME we have given examples of how fast gens go and WHY ruin is needed. but they need to NERF ruin before they will even consider nerfing gen speeds, EVEN THOUGH WE HAVE BEEN COMPLAINING ABOUT IT FOR ALMOST A YEAR NOW. it just shows how they don't listen at all, or they do the Bethesda thing and say the are listening but aren't actually
18 -
I wish I had a gen speed chart I know the normal gen speed is like 80 seconds or so. And with 4 survivors its around 20 seconds with 4 survivors.
0 -
ahhhhh
4 -
Break the game then. Switch to survivor and show them what we already know.
5 -
Like I have said before
Its not Gen Speed, who wants to sit on a generator for more than 80 seconds?
Its map design, this game has horrid map design
11 -
Its complete rng with tiles which actually is hurting the game the maps are complete rng.
1 -
Wrong. For each other survivor working on the same gen you get a 10% speed penalty. More than 2 people working on the same gen is a waste of time.
1 person 80 sec
2 people 44 sec
3 people 33 sec
4 people 28 sec
Do your research before misinforming people.

Cutting off your nose to spite your face is a not a good reaction to any issue and bhvr is doing that presently. They have don significant damage to themselves through their reactions to the ruin nerf without asking why it is used in the first place.
0 -
Hey man I was just guessing and those speeds aren't counting toolboxes or prove thy self. Anyway still too fast unless you are a total potato and can't hit skill checks...
0 -
Dude this is the 37th post you make about the ruin change, it’s going through, they’ll see how it plays then do what’s necessary to help killers that are struggling or all killers at the same time, end of story .
4 -
It is really fast compared to everything the killer has to do, definitely agreed. But you still wrote wrong information and believe me, even without any proof a lot of people believe those without a doubt. Be careful with that.
0 -
If I actually trusted bhvr I would believe this but I don't
1 -
I doubt this includes skillchecks either so you have to include bonus progression. It is really hard to figure out if gens go too fast. Damn best we remove all perks that slow gen progression in any kind or way, this will give us some reliable data for sure.
This was sarcasm btw.

This content has been removed.

Killers: "Ruin is cleansed instantly every game and high ranks dont miss skillchecks"
Same Killers: "You killed Ruin, it was the only good perk to slow down gens. You broke the game!".
Double standards at its best.
6 -
The fact that BHVR can be compared to Bethesda is actually scary.
1 -
Ruin was only good vs bad survivors and most are bad against good survivors gens will be done quickly. The "data" won't mean (bad word) anyway given this dev teams incompetence
0 -
You obviously talk about yourself and not about the Devs.
0 -
Can't wait for them to fix gens/maps. If we are lucky it might take them only 1-years.
Let's stay positive boys.
0 -
it's why I made the comparison
5 -
No its both... even on more fair maps it doeznt stop the gens..gens are too fast for the current killer limitations
2 -
It's not like they could reach out to the group of people that
- play their game for a living,
- are willing to have educated discussion with one another about balance fixes the game is in dire need of
- are actually rewarded with codes and early access boons
2 -
Ironically one of the devs is doing a speech on a games as service model.
0 -
I think it’s funny that you assume survivors Are the ones who lose their minds around here. Especially after thread after thread it has been nothing but attacking the devs over ruin. EVEN THOUGH we all know that you can still play and win without it.
It is hilarious the double standard that you guys ( complainers) have.
4 -
o the irony

I am not saying that killers don't lose their mind over the Ruin nerf. That would be a ridiculous statement considering the mounting evidence against it. I am simply saying that the developers will never apply the same treatment to survivors, by removing toolboxes, because the outcry would be even greater.
2 -
Removing toolboxes would give them actual real data instead of the artificial data they will get with them.
2 -
Likely because toolboxes and other gen buffs/debuffs are not present in 80% of red rank games.
The simple fact Ruin is so common means they need to control for it, hence they change it in hopes to reduce it's influence on so many games. Once that change goes live they can more easily control for buffs/debuffs because not it won't be 80% of games.
Like if your car is having problems which you can't identify easy, you don't up and replace the entire engine. You replace 1 part, see how it runs, then replace another, repeat until you've diagnosed the problem. It's basic troubleshooting.
Another example, if my internet is being whacky I'm not going to replace my network. I'll reboot my PC/Xbox, see if that changes anything. Then reboot my router. Then reboot my modem. Then try another device. After all that if I still have problems it has to be my ISP, and I just saved myself a lot of money finding out it's nothing to do with me.
Also I agree with @Hoodied and @big_fellas it's the maps that are really the problem. Hopefully with the Ruin change the devs can finally confirm this with data and identify the key changes that need to happen (as completely reworking a map is costly and time consuming).
1 -
Initial outcry but I'm glad someone is pointing out that Gen speeds are potentially being nerfed now that Bhvr has good data to look at.
And before anyone says "well what about toolboxes?"
80% of red ranked survivors do not need to run Toolboxes to gen rush 🤔

Lmao Bethesda that made me giggle. Least they fix the issues with bugs more often then not.

Anything used skews the stats and why things will always change and have.
Ruin being the most highly used killer perk obviously shows something but what is needed as a solution wont be so apparent. It's not a case of just adding 30s for example as that may not be enough or it may be too much.
To gather data obviously the perk most killers use is the first place to start. Ruin isn't about just slowing down the gens as it had the objective of also finding the totem for a lot of players. How do you tell the actual impact when some will work through it? When its skill checks are rng? Some will totem hunt? Some will protect the totem with 3 gens close by? It has so many variables in its use its not quite as simple as do x to fix y.
The devs do listen to feedback but most feedback is highly one sided and most complaints are simply about a change to something a player likes to use or something the other side does.
Who knows maybe players will end up being better due to this. Maybe a second objective will be added. No matter what the devs say it does appear for some unless it's a change in favour of what side they like to play it will always be wrong.
0 -
But it's not 80 seconds, is it? Usually 2 or 3 survivors are working on a single gen which cuts the time in half. That's how you get 5 gens in 5 minutes, the common result of playing without Ruin.
0 -
So when are they removing SWF so we can work out what's wrong there?
0 -
Do a majority of people actually only play either killer or survivor? Most people I know play both equally. I feel like if you do only play one you don't really know the game all that well.
I'd be fine with tool boxes removed as long as they're replaced with something different so my bps dont get wasted.
0 -
Lol removing swf is how you make a good amount of your playerbase quit. I can't believe there are seriously still people crying about swf. Oh wait yes I can because some of the killers on this game have serious mental issues that revolve around being way to fragile when it comes to being outplayed.
0 -
Almost like people crying about ruin right? and then crying that its taking 10+ minutes to get in to a game. But i guess the world looks great through rose tinted glasses.
0 -
Yes, because voice communication that bypasses core aspects of the game is "outplaying".

Just under 3.2 minutes at a MINIMUM without loss of efficiency. travel time already factored in. If you take out the travel time, it's a little past two minutes coming in at around 142 (2 minutes 22) seconds.
Breakdown w/o perks or toolboxes or travel time:
1 Surv in a chase = zero contribution
2 survs on a gen or 1 gen per = 44 / 80
1 Surv on a gen = 80
First chase lasts say 90-100 seconds, in that first 88 seconds the 1 surv has popped his gen, and the other two have popped 2 either as a pair or separately. W/ pair and a single, the fourth gen comes in at 44 seconds, without travel time, that leaves the trio on the last at 18 (give or take 1-3 seconds) seconds till completion puts it at 142 seconds. Now add 50 total seconds of travel time:
20 to first set of gens
Another 30 to last 2 gens (20 initial split, 10 on the meetup)
That puts, even with travel time, gens at 192 seconds.
Add in gen toolboxes and PT w travel time (40 secs)
In the first 77 seconds 3 gens pop.
By the 97 second mark the last two gens will start
It takes just shy of 30 seconds to complete a gen with 1 PT and 2 commodious toolboxes,
At 127 seconds, Gen 4 pops, with Gen 5 being 66% done, needing only another 20 seconds to complete, by the time PT team arrives, 10 seconds are left, which gets knocked out in about 4. Clocking final gen speed times at a whopping 131 seconds, or 2 minutes 11 seconds.
A moderately skilled survivor on most maps can chain loops together long enough to last between 90-120 seconds, , meaning that a Single chase can last for 90% of the survivor objective ending in one hook. At which point it's just easier for them to wait 11 seconds for the last gen to pop before the second chance perk rush with BT to the gate.
It's ######### wild that they need to gut ruin to check what is basic math on the peak efficiency of a SWF or proper red rank team.
