Just got robbed

This game made me hate keys. I was playing as a nurse, doing the 3 gen strat against three survivors when I see this survivor use a key to escape. I close it hook a survivor. When I see this other survivor rescue the dude with borrowed time, then they both go to the hatch and escape. I could have gotten them all but because of two keys I got robbed.

It happens. Bring a Mori or Franklin's when you see keys next time if they bother you

    They used 2 keys.

I'm not saying it was a free escape and they deserved it, but I mean, what did you expect?

You didnt get robbed. You just got unlucky with what group you faced.

It's like if a random sandbags and costs us all to die to a mori. I didnt get robbed, it just didnt go particularly well given the players involved.

Happened to me earlier. The survivors were really ######### afterwards too, and combined with some recent events that have been happening with me irl, I mentally broke down because of it.

You didn't get "robbed". You have to remember one important thing - you're not entitled to a kill until the sacrifice is completed.

Yeah had that happen to me but worse.

Was playing Clown without Ruin and got robbed because one gen can spawn the hatch so three guys escaped. Pretty cool.

    Moris.

You should have taken note of the keys and brought in a Mori and tunneled the key holders to death. They want to find the hatch for an easy, short escape, give yourself an easy fast kill.

It was your fault they got away.

I see anyone with keys or tool boxes, I’ll make sure they die ASAP unless they’re pro loopers, then I’ll target weaker people to lure them away from the strong loops. Don’t want to be tunneled? Don’t bring in game shortening items.

Keys are silly. Pay attention in the lobby and if anyone brings a key, adjust your loadout to deal with the problem. Alternatively, you are allowed to dodge lobbies (you can't expect everyone to have Franklin's, for example).

Lol 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 what next? Survivors healing each other costs you the game? Killers attacking costs survivors the game? Lol omg. Every day, every single day there is something new to cry over from either side of the aisle. Ive definitely been in lobbies where there are two key holders and we all die. Is it frustrating? Of course but geez, just load into another game. Stay playing a killer, because you could never handle the amount of L's you'll take as a survivor.

So if the killer brings a Mori it's acceptable to gen rush right?

Dude just play ok? Who knows the kind of killer your gonna face. Killers face camp, tunnel, and bring whichever mori that allows instant kills without having to hit or hook. I dont know anyone who consistently cannot kill at least one or two people each game, but as a survivor its a literal roll of the dice. You may go four or five games without escaping so I honestly dont understand what all the fuss is about. I feel like killers want easy kills and survivors want easy wins. And in the middle somewhere are people like me both killers and survivors who just play and let the dice fall.

It is always ok to gen rush. It is the primary objective for survivors, I mean, what else are they supposed to do? Hide in a corner?

I’m not a fan of how fast Moris can end a game for survivors, they need to be reworked or completely removed from the game as long as the same is done for keys. Mori animations should be implemented as an alternative to death hooking someone.

This thread is perhaps a perfect example of the ridiculous community toxicity that DBD has. Someone makes a thread and explains that he had a bad time due to the circumstances in-game. Then half a dozen people tell him that it's "his fault" for not playing well enough or he "didn't pay enough attention". Meanwhile, the sentiment and frustration about how a game, that the killer was clearly on the path to "winning" and gets snatched away from him by items (twice), goes unaddressed. The lack of empathy and assumptions being made, "bring franklin's, bring mori", are ridiculous. You don't know if he has Franklin's Demise. You don't know if he has access to a Mori in any given game. You don't know if the keys were brought into the trial from the beginning, or if they were found.

Keys feel cheap when they end a game that the killer is in control of. That is fact. Counter arguments about Moris are irrelevant and a distraction from the topic at hand. Dictating the use of Franklins is nonsensical due to keys being able to be acquired mid-trial; thus essentially requiring the perk to be equipped at all times.

I agree. I'm just taking a little shot because it's usually that kind of person who complains about gen rushing.

@PyroGL I somewhat agree. But I don't feel the OP was robbed as they put it. It's just some really bad luck. We've all had those games where we get blindsided. I do agree people need to stop telling everyone to just run Franklin's or bring a Mori. Honestly keys and Mori's need reworked at this point.

Never really understood peoples thought pattern regarding Franklin's when it comes to keys. If you plan on using the key later on and the killer has Franklins... a smart thing to do is just stash it away in a spot you (and your SWF team if any) knows of. As far as tunneling the key holder, unless they brought an addon to keep the key, the key itself remains in play. I've seen plenty of survivors escape using their dead teammate's key, and I've done it myself as well.

I don't really get it myself. I might use it for toolboxes. That'd be it thought.

The OP is being laughed at because they're being overly dramatic. The title of this thread says literally "robbed". Of course, nobody can't take that seriously.

what if (and i know i might come off insane saying this) what if they get the key out of a chest. OOOH thats not possible is it? cant counter keys if you dont know they got it. The survivors could literally get a free escape for doing absolutely nothing but opening a chest.

  • PyroGL

Overly dramatic? What exactly is wrong with the use of the word "robbed"? Being "robbed" in games, to my knowledge, has always signified having a win or something beneficial stolen or taken from you through either RNG or sometimes through "cheap" mechanics. The use of the word seems pretty on point in the context given.

Also, what exactly is the appropriate response to getting keyed twice (or even once) in a match you are close to winning? No doubt, the first reply will be from a zen-master with all their chakras aligned and has iron willpower who never gets tilted or frustrated by any game, ever. DBD, and most games, elicit emotional responses from us lesser humans. Sure, a double key may end up surprising a veteran and make them laugh at the absurdity, but the OP could be a new player, or has been subjected to keys multiple times recently, making the double key game especially frustrating. Hell, they literally made an account to post about it.

I’ve had this issues were 3 people found keys in a chest. Like how could I have known. I played so well and two survivor tried escaping through the hatch I caught 1 but the other leave via the hatch. I closed the hatch and hook the survivor and they died. The last 3th guy also had a key. :/

This is a video game, where there are human beings playing both roles. You are not "entitled" to a kill just because you are the killer, it's such a stupid argument. A survivor gets out with a key? Well that's lucky for them if they found it, or well played by them if they brought it in. ReallyBigShoe put it best, you are not entitled to the kill until the sacrifice is complete.

To all the people saying bring Franklin's, they found the keys in midgame 🤔
