RiP Doctor, they really did it
So the Snap out of it nerf that lets them go to tier 1 and avoid all his afflictions while punishing doc for shocking survivors went through in full. He's dead now, maybe the ruin nerf was to distract from how dirty they were punking Doctor

Wow.
He was already basic, but now, damn.
And nope, I am not a killer main, I have hundreds of survivor games and probably not even near 100 as killer.
Only 520 hours of game, but mostly of it as survivor.
And hell, doctor was hella basic, they made him even weaker? jezz.
33 -
This is just to compensate for how quickly survivors advance in tiers now.
14 -
My concern is about the 3 cooldown secs
Did they changed?
4 -
Yes, he’s even less viable than before.
Yes, he’s lost a lot of what made him unique and his power.
Yes, he’s even more frustrating to play than old Doctor.
Yes, he’s still complete doodoo in chases.
But, is he less annoying for survivors to go against? Can they urban around the map or rush through gens even easier now? Yes? Then mission accomplished
43 -
Yes, because this was the only change.
Smh.
11 -
He's still much better now, since his chase potential is now actually good. In my opinion.
It also helps against hostage doc. They should have just made it so that addon effects also affect survivors in madness level 1, but to a lesser degree. I would have liked if they increased the time to snap out of it slightly or if they decreased the cooldown of static blast slightly. But I think this change is actually healthy for the game.
14 -
I like how you guys act like the Snap Out changes murdered him, while turning a blind eye to the stance removal which made him more viable during chases.
16 -
As a Doc main, this isn't a big deal. You actually get to have more value out of his Restraint addons since they go back to Madness I due to the change. Static Blast lets you apply Madness II effects (pallets, illusionary docs for tracking) with the press of a button. It's amazing. This is not a nerf, stop acting like it is
11 -
It doesn't say any of the cooldown times, assumedly on purpose in the hopes nobody would notice. If they left that in though I doubt they took any feedback into consideration. Which really sucks because as incredible as the new map looks it's impossible to be happy about it since such extreme nerfs to my favorite og killer come with it.

This change has been on the ptb since it came out.
3 -
Dude the long cooldown they put after using shock therapy is at least 20% longer than it took to switch stances and swing. No more pallet stun shock. The extra speed won't matter
14 -
@Waffleyumboy is correct.
In the PTB although you go back to tier 1, and "snap out" progress doesn't reset I actually had to "snap out of it" far more times in the PTB than I do with current Doctor.
It says right there it's due to static blast increasing a madness tier everytime. You spend more time snapping out of it than you did with old Doc.
Trust me, it's not a nerf.
10 -
"Hes better and healthier because [debunked claims countered in every other doctor post]"
We get it, survivors are happy because he's easier to escape and they have to do fewer skillchecks, it's so viscerally repulsive
7 -
They confirmed that the cooldown is being adjusted.
6 -
Everyone except low tier survivors hated the details of mist of the changes and they ignored all the feedback. From the doctor post on the main page it looks like doc is going live exactly as he was day 1 ptb, along with all the problems previously discussed.
2 -
There's no reason to think they aren't just lying about adjusting the times in live; I hate this sooo much, even more than Ruin nerf. I was foolish enough to think maybe they'd listen to the doctor players in the ptb, but this just confirms to me they didn't adjusted or fix any of it. I want to enjoy the sweet new map but oof
1 -
I urge you all to watch this. Otz interviewed one of the best Doc mains in the game.
8 -
They literally said they're going to reduce/remove the cooldown. The feedback was overwhelming in that field. People said the cooldown was too long and they acknowledged that, and will adjust accordingly
3 -
They instantly go back to tier 2 when you use your static blast though
Where as before you had to actually find survivors again cause your static field would take ages to make go from tier 2 to 3
Pls concider all changes. He is way better now
5 -
Actually it's not.
They have confirmed they will reduce the 3s timer but to what we don't know as yet.
They have already reduced the time to shock which was bugged as it should be 1s.
Things do change constantly. They haven't ignored people as these were the two most problematic things about the doc change.
The reason the tier 1 change hasn't been mentioned as much as most don't see it as a major issue with how the new Doc works.
The Doctor is not ruined as he is a constant 115% killer now with no need to change stances. That alone makes a huge difference to his chase potential.
You will see what you want to but from how you speak it doesn't seem like you have even tested these out for yourself.
I'd say it's more about his old 3 gen potential needed looked at as not chasing turned it into holding the game hostage which is eventually bannable. Most reasonable players knew that had to be fixed regardless of rank as its was just a bad design that could punish a player just for using what the game offers. This also makes sense with the tier change in madness as that could also be used in a 3 gen scenario by good players.
7 -
It probably takes longer for static blast to recharge than it did for them to tier up just standing in your field, which isn't necessarily what mainly I used it. Better hope you don't blow it in the wrong corner of the map and have to play without your power while 3 gens pop off
0 -
What claims exactly have been debunked?
Nevertheless, believe whatever you want to. I am very excited for this patch to play reworked Doctor in the live version, since he seems so much more fun to play as.
3 -
What is this "taking the game hostage with his power" business I've never heard of before?
2 -
I'd love to be wrong about it and will say so after a couple weeks (in case they nerf him further after release) but have zero confidence
0 -
With certain perks and add-ons the static filed was huge. If three gens were close together he could stay in treatment and any survivors coming in would go into madness without being able to progress the gens. They would have to run out to snap out of it and by that points the gens could be back to square one.
Some wouldn't chase and just stay there as it meant survivors basically had to give up.
2 -
shouldn't matter. Unless they removed the status effect where once you hit Tier 3 you can't interact with anything until you snap out of it.. I mean once they hit T3 they will just be back in T1 plus a 60 sec cooldown on his power
what a joke
4 -
60 sec was just a placeholder
0 -
Mind providing a source for that information?
7 -
I guess the only times people will see Doc now is during his archive challenges. RIP.
3 -
The entire ptb is a placeholder
0 -
The rework is in sum a definite buff to doctor.
2 -
Of course they're ignoring feedback from people who are just reading patch notes and freaking out over things they don't understand.
Pretty much everyone who's put in time on the test server realizes he's only a couple minor, minor tweaks away from being a great killer who's a blast to play.
7 -
Yeah but like always they didn't give actual numbers. "Adjusted" could mean .5 seconds.

I wish they would’ve mentioned his new shock cooldown and made his affliction add-ons work at Madness I to compensate for the Snap Out of It nerfs.
Do the devs really want Madness II to be stronger than Madness III? Hell, I would’ve liked to see reasons for why they gutted Snap Out of It. I now can understand having it bring you down to tier 1, but not the other changes (progress bar doesn’t reset, skill checks only appear at certain times, and missing a skill check doesn’t reset the bar). Those changes are making Snap Out of It a minor inconvenience just like Deep Wound. If a Survivor can’t hit those massive skill checks, then it’s their fault and they need to get good. Coddling them is a terrible solution.

Rip my calm notes build :(

EXACTLY

The Doctor's reworked kit is good. Survivors dropping back to madness 1 is needed to compensate just how effective the Static Blast is at spreading madness.
What is not good is the lack of thought that had been given to his add-ons. The reverse skillcheck are a total joke. They do absolulty nothing and should just be removed of made base kit. They are not worth a rare add-on. And Iridescent Queen is fun, but not actually good. It will make survivors scream from time to time, but will allmost never tier up madness higher than 1.
There are a whole lot more issues with his add-ons, that can be summed up by saying that they where designed for old Doc where survivors would stay at madness 2 for most of the game. And his add-ons that increase madness gains (Order and Discipline) are incredibly missleading and actually near useless now that Static Blast exist.
5 -
And you get one static blast every what, 50 seconds at best? It's so stupid

Again...

He's better now you just like to complain to no end because that's all this community does when updates happen

I think whether or not Doc ends up being better or not comes down to how much the Shock Therapy cooldown is reduced (since I believe they've said it is getting reduced) and how they adjust the delay between Doc using the Shock Therapy and the Survivor actually getting hit by it. If they can adjust those to reasonable levels, I'm willing to say that Doc is overall improved, even with the nerf to Madness 3 Snap Out of It.

No to do the same nerf on all the killers yea buddy

Well with his static blast putting you into the next tier if you are in his terror radius I don't think thats much of a big deal, I'm just glad stance switching is gone but if the delay between shock therapy and being able to hit them is longer than switching stances, he's gonna be trash. Shock therapy wasn't reliable at stopping people from vaulting already lol.

Old news but I remember when almost everyone on Forums were screaming the Sky is Falling when Spirit was announced, yet she turned out to be one of the strongest Killers in the game.
Don't fall for the hype ya'll.
2 -
I remember wraith being reworked and everybody saying that he was still worthless
Took over a year before a streamer tried him and realised. You know, He's not that bad after all.
2 -
He also said ruin was good still. What was good was surveillance. He ignored the fact it doesn't slow gens, you can't use pop, over charge and you can't get points for kicking gens

Well lets be honest here in ptb she was pretty trash, after she got multiple buffs post ptb did she become what she was and then nerfed a couple times after as long as survivors don't know when she is phasing in her terror radius and the sounds aren't bugged to #########, she'll be fine.
I know what you mean though, but it's understandable why people react the way they do alot of killer nerfs have been happening, spirit and nurse probably got some questionable nerfs, Oni got his flick taken away until now where they are giving it back and poor pig keeps getting a bat to her knees after EGC came out while Legion is already dead.
3 -
I'd agree with the static blast thing if it didn't have a massive cooldown. You can do it 1 time per gen and even then you're taking a gamble with it unless you are in a chase
1 -
"This will help counter-act the effect of Static Blast immediately putting survivors into the next tier of Madness."
I don't understand this reasoning. Static Blast might put a specific survivor up one tier every 60 seconds while they can go down two tiers in 12 seconds. Personally I hate going against Doc and always wanted the ability to snap out of tier 2 madness, but going straight from 3 to 1 is ridiculous. I'd rather just have the ability to snap out of tier 2 when the Madness meter is under 25%. Survivors would have the option to get rid of an annoying status, but they'd be sacrificing time to do so and could potentially just get tiered right back up. It'd be a choice between time or convenience. Also I don't get why they'd make Snap Out of It progress save. If you get interrupted it's probably because you made a poor decision on where/when to do it. This just encourages poor play (i.e. snapping out as soon as Doc turns his back or even doing it a bit at a time in chase).
That said OP's being dramatic. The Doc changes are overall great.
1 -
I like the changes and I'm a doctor main:D I also tested him out on ptb he's fine:)
Yes it took me a while to figure how to use he's new ability but once I learned how to he was great to play as:)
And I faced a swf on ptb they were all red and I was yellow and guess what I got 3 of em:)
