Why do people don't play Hag?
Least picked killer and I wonder why, since she has a good map presence and can defend hooks very well

I play her from time to time, but i dont find she is very much fun tbh. Thats also the most obvious reason, since she is definitly a strong killer.

The only thing I don't like a out Hag is her camp of view. I feel like she's running looking to the ground lol
But yes, she's strong when you learn how to use her traps

Her play style is very "campy" and she gets shut down by coordinated SWF easy. I suppose that applies to most killers though.

Nobody likes hag because she’s boring.
Her power is literally designed to camp certain areas and hope people step in your traps, and also totem camping hags literally make me fall asleep when I play survivor.
You also can’t chase well with the hag, she isn’t designed for chasing, but patrolling an area of the map and if you end up in a 3 gen vs a good hag it’s probably GG.
70-80% of hag players also put all of their traps around the hook, which is just ridiculous in my opinion, because one trap is plenty good.
The last time I played against a hag (which was yesterday) her ruin went down in the first 40 seconds of the game and she tried to set up a 3 gen and never left that area so we hammered out all of the generators and 2 of my teammates had flashlights and started destroying the majority of her traps and then the last generator popped before she was able to get her FIRST hook. She disconnected.
So yeah, hag is just a killer designed to camp and it’s boring for a lot of people including me because there’s no real interaction and stepping in her traps are very annoying.

Like Trapper, Hag can get by with mediocre placement if your a good killer or survivor. It's once you put in the practice she becomes a monster. Sadly she has quite a steep learning curve. She is also not a chasing killer so people tend to shy away from her.
Whoa whoa whoa you mean I'm not supposed to put all 10 traps at the hook?
Jk
I always find these ones amusing

I was thinking about this. She's a 110% speed killer but she doesn't have the same advantage of Huntress when it comes to range attack or Spirit who can travel the map... So I expect to see a lot of traps since It has no point to chase survivors when you're too slow

Oh yeah, she's definetily easy to play but hard to master

Someone told me a master Hag is able to 4k red rank survivors who are actually good with a perkless and addonless Hag.
I can do this with Pig, Huntress, and Spirit. I like the Style of play from Trapper and Hag so I ended up joining a group with a bunch of master Hags. Guess I'll work on my Hag skills for awhile.

You aren't playing her right then. It's true that coordinated SWF isn't easy. That is true for any killer though. That isn't a reason not to play her. 4 man SWF is actually pretty rare anyway. I don't recall the numbers off the top of my head but it's less than 10% of games. But even if you are playing hag vs coordinated SWF that isn't an automatic loss. Just play a smart game and don't overextend.

Except when one or two people in the SWF have object on, and they can tell their team where your traps are. That is the roughest time hag will have. She is very, very strong against solo Q players.

Really? I can do with Spirit but I'm not sure about Hag lol I'm nothing with her without STBFTL or Monitor & Abuse

Maybe it's because they're stepping on traps all the time, especially when the Hag is hooking someone (to make her waste time, obviously)
From what I see, good Hags always reset their traps and slug people

my last game i went against 4 SWF that could all hit ruin with 2 toolboxes on quite a large map, i got 9 hooks in total but it was stressful. when theyre in a team and know your traps and can loop well as well as do gens she struggles, although she has the ability to do well once traps are placed the set-up while maintaining well placed traps, getting hooks and protecting gens is alot to handle when going against good teams and thats why i dont like her as much as others, but i play all killers

I'm learning her mostly addonless to make the transition a bit more smooth. Once I feel I have a good build and general good feel for trap placements I'll start dropping perks when I'm doing too well imho.
Prolly gonna take me awhile to learn as she is a set up killer.

Play a smart game and it doesn't even matter if your traps have neon lights showing where they are. There are certain paths survivors have to take when running away. Put traps in those spots and the survivors choice amounts to "run into the trap and get hit" or "run another direction and get hit".
The bigger problem when playing with a coordinated survivor team is that as soon as you pick up a survivor the remaining survivors will run around and set off as many traps as possible. It eats up a lot of time re-trapping the map. But that isn't insurmountable either.
Don't get me wrong. I'm not claiming to be god-tier and win every game with hag. But any game I have lost with hag I wouldn't blame on her. She's pretty well balanced and in a pretty good spot now.

I prefer Huntress

I never said it was an automatic loss and I do think I play her quite well, enough to always stay at rank 1 only using her. As someone who checks the survivor profiles in all my lobbies the rate of SWF is much higher than you think.
Do you actually play her at rank 1 or are you just watching videos?
2 -
Try playing her without ruin, and the SWF is bringing in commodious boxes or keys. You are going to have a 4~ minute game. And you need the first 2 minutes to set up traps.
Them knowing where traps are doesn't matter? Except when they have a flashlight, or can just crouch over them. That's the dumbest thing I have heard in a while.

Her point of view is terrible, especially on high grass maps like Yamaoka.
Her traps are easily countered if your team has more than 2 brain cells.
Touching her Ruin totem causes the player controlling her to rage and tunnel the perpetrator.

Hag main here. Build for reference: Corrupt intervention, stbfl, monitor, nurse's, w/ distance addon and trap set time addon.
She's my favourite killer because I dont have to chase with her and can ignore pallet looping. 90% of the time i'll ignore a survivor unless they've triggered a trap. I get a hit, maybe make them down a pallet then move on. Continuously setting up traps inbetween this. On a good match I never leave one half of the map.

She takes a lot of time to master and I don't think she's that fun.
Except on mobile, I play her all the time because of the sheer amount of potatoes that try to save after they trigger a trap by the hook. I just played her to unlock Ruin but I think I'm a Hag main on mobile now.

I'm glad they don't. I don't mind the odd game against her but her hook game is too strong. When a survivor is unhooked most Hags come running back to the hook anyway. You can't heal the survivor as Hag will be back before the heal is completed and sometimes even We'll Make It isn't fast enough. The survivor can't run because they will set off a trap, and the survivor can't crouch walk away in time because Hag is on her way back already and they'll never get away in time.
Best you can do is trigger a trap to force Borrowed Time.
This is why when I play Hag I put traps around the hook to slow the rescue down but I don't normally go back as I'm busy getting another survivor. I especially do this on basement hooks because her basement game is OP, and again having the survivors have to crouch walk slows them down enough anyway.
As for playing her, I do sometimes. She's one of the killers I use more often. I do find the weaker standard M1 killers the most fun due to chases though.

Boring killer thats why. Not fun to play and not fun to face as survivor. I have all killers in lvl 50 but Hag is one of the killers I never play at all.
0 -
Probably people, like myself, don't find her trap killer playstyle fun and she's also quite punishing if you can't place your web well, because you'll end up getting looped or wasting more time to place traps.

I play both survival and killer in red rank, For Killer, I Main Hag, and for my opinion
If you doesn't play tunnel style / face camp style.
Advantage, easy to snowball the match to your favorite based on survival mistake.
Disadvantage, Very depend on survival mistake, which lead to easy counter by a well coordinate team + survival that understand hag game mechanic.
PS : Hag is strong currently due to some survival still doesn't know how to deal with it. Even some red rank player also doesn't understand how to deal with hag, they just running into your trap, people unhook doesn't know they can crouch without triggering the trap.
I got many matches where even red rank play complaining me tunneling or camping where they are the one who actively trigger the trap, and I mostly reply they go search for video how to deal with Hag

She's great for the most part but there are very few things in this game more frustrating than survivors who know how to trigger traps and not get hit.

I haven't played her in awhile, I tend to play Michael Myers, Ghost Face, Pig, Spirit and Legion far more often as "Mains" wth Plague, Trapper, Huntress & Wraith as secondary picks...
I used to play her a LOT (practically my pocket Killer) and I do well with her, however I HATED how frame rate could really mess up when teleporting and throwing out a hit...or how some maps would just screw with my fps while moving around...which I found to be almost exclusively when playing Hag. Not to mention the camera swinging jarringly when after teleporting.
Last time I played her was when using her Hallowed Blight outfit, which had a bug where it lagged whenever I put a trap down. I'll eventually get back to playing her, but my games just end up way more fun as the aforementioned Killers and less aggravation when things that should work, jus aren't.

When I played dbd, hag was basically my main. Everyone talks about her being "boring" because of the trap play style, but I definitely enjoyed a relaxing hag game.
You just walk around, trap some loops, and start chasing people into those traps. Yes, dbd being the unpolished game it is makes things a bit frustrating teleporting wise.
She has ups and downs, she definitely feels the gens if survivors give a crap, so you fall back on a snowball play style. I guess some consider this "camping". It's a defensive killer, I'm going to defend. However, those who struggle with chasing as hag probably don't understand how to be offensive with her.

Not true, Mint Rag with the Shackle is crazy strong, you can confuse them all you want, grab them off gens, stop unhooks even if they dont trigger the trap, possibilities are endless. It is very hard to use but its very strong too.
