BHVR Survivor Bias is Real.
Everyone can come on here saying it’s not for this and that. But do tell me how many maps are so large it’s hard for killers to apply pressure?
How many perks do survivors have that give second chances?
Besides those, EGC has a timer, this timer slows down when a killer hooks or downs a survivor. Why? Was this not designed to put pressure on both sides to end the game? This is not about “free kills”, it’s about the simple fact that even during the end game BHVR still tries to give survivors another chance to escape.
You might as well remove killers from this game and create a generator repair simulator. It’s astonishing on how much this game is about ensuring survivors have X amount of opportunities from start to finish to avoid or escape the killer

Thanks for highlighting "what he really means"
Why should altruistic actions be discouraged?

Edit: He claims it’s to prevent people from hanging around after the match yet slows the timer to help ensure a save. 🤦🏽♂️ Logical.

"Bias is real"
Speaking of which, your entire post is sopping with bias.
Spoiler Alert: just because you're obsessed with your own opinion being right, doesn't mean it is.
9 -
EGC Is for stopping hostage situations only, nothing more, nothing less.
9 -
EGC was only made to stop hostage situations, it wasn't meant to be a buff for killers (even though it is).
You guys really love to whine about everything don't you?
6 -
Where’s the bias? It’s simply about EGC being a fair situation.
0 -
Nothing more, nothing less but there’s a slowdown to aid survivors? It’s not a hostage situation if there’s a timer, when you add in a slowdown because a survivor is downed or hooked, you’re favoring one side over the other.
3 -
I have a question. Don't you guys get tired of complaining for no reason? I mean, the game obviously have their bugs. You could complain about hit boxes, bad map dessign, bad perk design, but you would rather complain about a bias that is non existent.
3 -
Yes, because the EGC isn't supposed to force players away from doing altruistic actions, once the timer is started the game WILL end, the timer slowed keeps survivors in match and possibly allows for the killer to get more kills too, the speed of the timer is irrelevant as ITS ONLY purpose is make sure the match ends, it's not meant to apply pressure and prevent people from doing things other than staying in the match indefinitely.
2 -
Nobody’s whining. I’m just not going to ride the Devs like a lot of you do. He’s a hypocrite in his own statement.
EGC is to prevent hanging out after the match. The slow down is there to give survivors a chance for a save.
1 -
Because EGC isn't supposed to push survivors out of the match, it's supposed to make sure the game ends.
1 -
EGC is there to prevent HOSTAGE situations, it isn't there to stop survivors from saving each other.
People used to open the gates and then hide until the killer found them, which would take ages and it actually caused people to disconnect. This is what they mean by "hanging around".
4 -
How is that unfair? It shouldnt be a death sentence just because you go down at the endgame as opposed to the beginning of the match. You have every right to continue chasing and downing people, but survivors also should be able to go for saves if need be. If a survivor goes down for the first time during EGC, they have 2 minutes on the hook before the entity sacrifices them. If a team wants to do a rescue smart, thats the timeframe they have. The EGC was never intended to award more kills just cuz, its meant to end the game in instances where the last survivor can stealth for an hour until you DC. That timer is in no way a survivor buff.
3 -
Honestly, don't bother with Peanits, he's a major pro-survivor voice.

GAH!!!
EGC is one of the best things ever to be in the game... Someone already mentioned why.
By giving survivors a chance to save, gives the killer a chance for more hooks.... What else is the killer gonna do? Is the killer just watching the survivor get unhooked and standing there waving goodbye?
Your opinion of Killers when EGC hits!
4 -
My issue with EGC is that it last for soooo long.
Survivors still take the game hostage cause they just 99 de gates. They still hang around till the EDC is on its last sec.
We a beat the killer in a heavily survivor balanced game, gotta meet at the gate to teabag him and show off our dominance.

Ok, im not giving you internet points tho.

If you had watched the stream when they discussed the egc you would know its purpose.
The egc is primarily to stop hostage situations where someone could indefinitely stay in the game and stealth around just to troll. In no way is the timer meant to be a way for you to get a guaranteed kill or for survivors to guarantee escapes. It's to allow the possibility of both aspects as it was before the egc was implemented. The game is not over till its over.
The fact there is a timer at all was actually a buff to killers at end game compared to what it was previously as survivors used to have all the time in the world to coordinate saves along with unlimited time to take out the likes of NOED. Killer being able to open the gates buffed Bloodwarden. Downing someone with little time left can and will actually grant a kill where as before it wouldn't.
I can't see how this is survivor biased by simply allowing a time for some plays to still happen for both sides. To be fair the only bias I can see is in your post.

Then go open the door to start it...
It only last 4 minutes unless you don't do anything and then it is 2 minutes.
You don't have to go to the gate at the end... If they don't leave they die. Go around looking for unbroken pallets and get some points.

You can tell it's survivor biased, by the Hatch alone. An entire mechanic that gives survivors who failed at their goal a free win. A mechanic in which takes points from the Killer who played well, while at the same time giving max points of a category to a survivor (or survivors if they had a key), whom failed at accomplishing their goal.

Survs can still game it, between the fact that they can 99% the gates and that the timer slows when someone is injured, that does give survs a lot more time and can easily guarantee an escape. Between those, how the game can sometimes autoaim into the person on the hook and DS/BT/bodyblocking good survs can easily guarantee an escape.

End game doesn't exist anymore? Only survivors have second chances to accomplish their objective now? I'm disappointed honestly.

I do open the door. And I keep practicing my parking around some loops.
I just think it still too long.
You can see that everything they do, they pull back a notch to avoid FrUsTrAting the survivors.
Doc doesn't have to change stance anymore = here's a 3 sec cooldown to replicate it.

4 minutes is nothing compared to rounding up the sheep and pushing them out the door for 10 minutes. Once EGC starts, if you had a bad match, stop, go get a drink or washroom break and it will be over shortly.

They changing the 3 second cooldown... It has already been plastered around the forums by Peanits and Almo.

Something to stop killers from being held hostage is survivor bias?
2 -
You as the killer can open the door. This is the counter to the games being 99'd.
Some of those are the plays the devs wish to keep in. The likes of body blocking to take hits for example is a strat the devs like in the game. They want it to be a for both sides and to gage up if it's safe and make choices to save or not.
If they use BT you can down the unhooker. This should be a way to swap hooks. The best bet in this scenario is to hook further from the door. If you hook close then I don't know what to say as you practically gifted them an escape.
DS well I can agree with to a degree and why I think DS shouldn't activate if you have it and unhook when the egc is active to make saves more risky.

If you open a door while you have someone on the hook that's just gifting a free escape.

I personally love the slowed timer during EGC as a killer. Gives me more time to play with way too altruistic survivors. In reality, the EGC is meant to make sure the game ends. That is why they gave killers the ability to open exit gates themselves to start EGC. Have had many a really bad game and after the 4th gen popped, I just camped the exit gate to open it after the 5th popped so I could end the suffering. I also used the ability to open gates as a way to pop Blood Warden on my terms. Nothing like watching the sheep thinking they getting an easy tea bag escape and bam.

Lots of drama, they can only go so far though before nobody plays killer anymore and unless they add bots, the game will die when that happens
1 -
Yes the mechanic that they added to the game that was a all around nerf to Survivors in the end game portion of the game is totally a anti-Killer change to rustle your panties. It was mostly a good change overall that was needed, but in all aspects... it was nerfs to the Survivor team. You must be pretty new to argue EGT in any shape or form... "favors" Survivors.
Also you can play with it. I once had a team trading hooks and got them farther from the exits each time. Carried the Feng to opposite end and dropped her on the ground as it progressed lower. They got her up and barely got out while I downed her near the exit. Picked her up... and carried her and dropped her at the exit with her escaping a mere second before she would of died. She expressed a great level of stress and suspense in the end game chat, was fun.
Oh wait... I'm supposed to be... "Me MaD!!!! y No 4K! BiAs DEvs!"

Without EGC Survivors would have had infinite time. So, EGC is better for Killers I guess? Because even if slowed down, a Time Limit is better than no time limit.
Besides that, opening a Thread for such a negative topic...bah.

Then you down them and open it before you hook them. Many do this when they run blood warden.
The mechanic isn't meant to be done one way it to give options and possibilities.
