Doc feels like a brand new killer
WOW, I was not expecting this kind of attention towards my homeboy Carter.
IMO, all the doctor needed was his madness to be more threatening, and the weird timing of his shocks to be fixed, but what they gave him was.. very unexpected.
His madness isn't all that much more threatening, but o h m y g o d is it easy to get survivors going mad. His shock therapy attack is wayyy more usable in a chase than what it was before. It was a hassle to use it mid chase and it almost always led to chases taking way to long. I was never the best doctor player, but his kit was wonky and.. it was awful balancing act between actually making use of your power and just being an killer with a huge terror radius and below average mobility.
Let me just go over why he is so fun to play now-
- Static blast prevents annoying dead zones mid match that can be detrimental to killers. It also is just a really good tracking tool.
- Static blast can also be used just as a good way of getting multiple survivors mad. If you know that there is more than one or two survivors in the area, Ill just use it to tier up madness
- Shock therapy is much easier to use mid chase
- Shock therapy makes almost all unsafe pallets death traps (if you are able to access either side easily)
- Most addons are more useful, even if the effect is still largely the same (Restraint still op don't nerf)
- Chase music lets me perform better (Jk its just nice lol)
How do you guys like the doctor? I've been able to handle red ranks with him just fine, and i've found it really, really fun.

Doctor was one of my absoulute favourites when I first started the game, but as I climbed ranks, he felt worse and worse. Now, the rework hits, I've returned to my favourite. Static Blast, combined with Add-ons and Perks to increase the TR makes it super easy to track down hiders. Combining that with Iridiscent King for the ability to add each Add-on effect per shock attack, mmm. The craziness it brings is glorious, and there are a fair few high rankers that seem to struggle against all these effects. I've seen Gens explode more from the counter-clockwise effect, or survivors dropping pallets everywhere in fear of the eternal TR effect. I love Doctor now, and with the added lore with him, I couldn't ask for more!

Absolutely agree with everything you said.
I'm not easily scared, but his Tome cutscene is just.. wrong-

The only thing I don't like about his add-on's is Restraint's affliction.
Reason being that the affliction extends the duration of the Doctor hallucinations each survivor experiences and actually reduces their frequency, so by the time you turn around and see one, you're not sure if it just appeared or if its been there for 3 seconds and the survivor is already long gone. This makes it tricky for tracking purposes, whereas if they had increased the Frequency of the hallucinations popping up, that would have been much more useful. The aura revealing side of the add-on is now much better than it used to be however, since survivors go down 2 levels of madness when they snap out of it instead of just 1, and like OP said, it's easier to bring survivors madness up now, so for that part its pretty good for tracking and defeats Calm Spirit wielding survivors.
Other than that, I agree with this post, especially when it comes to the chase music, which is not only a nice addition, it's also quieter than the standard chase music and allows me to actually hear survivors movements and pained sounds better. Anyone else notice that?

I absolutely love the new Doctor. Went from rank 2 to 1 last night using Distressing/MYC/Dark Devotion/Devour Hope. He's so ridiculously efficient for an M1 killer. You know the problem M1 killers have at the start on big maps with tracking? Doctor doesn't have it due to Static Blast. So where other killers have to use tracking perks, Doctor can take perks to aid in lethality. It's just so good.

Doctor is super fun to use. You can deny loops in general and that's the really good part about play with him

He’s still too easy to loop

Glad that 3s cooldown after Shock Therapy was cut in half. It feels so much better to use now.

This. Against good loopers, on a big map with lots of obstacles, it’s still easy to get taken for a run.
He’s still fun though.

I haven't gotten too far into his Lore yet, but just listening to the voice over reading it gave me chills. It was like at one point he was literally the Doctor. Can't wait to hear more, and now I'm really looking forward to that cutscene :D

Going faster, hitting from farther, and having less cooldown just wasn't enough it seems. We must keep buffing killers until enough survivors call for nerfs right? Wrong. That puts way too much stress on the community managers and an unnecessarily long balancing process. So far it seems doc is a solid A, unless you would like to present to me extremely competent docs failing to get a 2k within reasonable constraints.

Might become my Main Killer. I still play every Killer but I enjoy him the most. Ironically he was my most hated Killer before the rework.

I want them to do for Clown what they did for Doc.
Keep him basically the same but with a stylish 2020 makeover.

As a survivor, it used to be the most annoying thing, with the passive static field and the fact that you couldn't get back to madness 1, I just couldn't hide anywhere and for me (a stealthy survivor not very good at chases) it felt really unfair. Now it's a lot better, sure he can still use the blast but it's a lot better than just "passing near me by chance and make me scream" and I'm not stuck with illusionary doctors all game.
As a killer I played very few games with him before, but I like the blast, especially with the addons reducing the terror radius. Time for a sneaky doctor!

I played new doctor once but felt pretty boring just like old doctor? How many meters does static blast cover?

The rework was so fantastic in my opinion. He now actually feels like a rank1 viable killer, who is actually viable even against extremely good survivors. And I never thought I would ever be able to say this about the Doctor.

I really like new Doctor. It's really fun to play against him or as him. The music is really fitting too imho. 😀

He feels a LOT smoother to me, I don’t care how powerful, although I do think it’s a buff overall, but he is but he is very fluid to play as now and I enjoy it.

His shock therapy power feels much harder to use.

But overly yeah, he feels fun to play now.

Depends from how large your terror radius is. Mainly 32 meters by default.

Doc is the only killer I've ever bothered to get to P3 - he's the only one I ever bothered to get all the perks on.
I have to say, I'm digging the reworked doc. The ability to "on demand" locate people with the new Static Blast is superior to the passive play that Static Field created. Synergizes well with Whispers.
I was a little concerned about what they might do to Calm as I was using Calm and MnA builds to create a pretty stealthy doc that can sneak up on people. But, as long as your static charge is on cooldown, calm still works as a way to create a stealth doc when combined with MnA.
I played with the new Obedience when doing the Overcharge challenge and got a kick out of the results (pun intended) Gens were exploding everywhere - so it seems Doc still has his old game-delaying options with a little bit of creativity.
I strongly suspect that the Distressing/Disturbing Combo is still usable with him, however. While you can't use it to passively increase madness anymore - using it to energize with his ability to already screw with skill checks is still going to annoy the crap out of people.

Ok so still worth running distressing on him then.
