More utility for flashlights?

Flashlights. Basically these things are hated by pretty much all killers, so why not give it some more uses that dont really benefit SWF all that much, but also dont annoy the hell out of killers.


So heres my idea. The description for the yellow flashlight is as follows: "To light your way through the darkness"

Therefore, the flashlight could allow survivors to "Flashlight blind" objects in the world such as hatch, traps, lockers ,hooks , exit gates, chests, items, pallets, etc, and reveal the aura of that object too all other survivors for 20s.


This doesnt help SWF since they can already tell each other on that the hatch is in the shack, but allows solos to give each other some more info.


Also gives the blindness status more effect.

    Whatever SWF does have to do with Flashlights. Flashlights are fine, they are weak, but can be used in some circumstances. And if you get blinded as Killer more than 1 time and the Survivor gets a Flashlight Safe, you are doing something wrong.

    The idea you have is basically what Maps are for. There are two Add Ons which allow the Map Objects to be seen by other Survivors - the purple one who shows the Aura to every Survivor and the yellow one which puts a Marker. That should be enough.

    (also, where do you find Darkness in DBD?)

    Flashlights are very strong if used correctly. You can use them not only to save, but also to blind at pallets and vaults. Most people don't know how to blind at vaults, and combined with iron will it is the only item that will let you extra distance between yourself and the killer during a chase (barring instant medkits).

    Flashlights are fine. Dodging them is a literal mechanic.

    i ment for this to be an additional feature, not to replace the current blind/save mechanic.

    I dont think that blinding at Pallets and Vaults is that useful. At least many people do that without Iron Will or are making footsteps, which results in the Killer finding them. Because, ears are a thing. And the time staying at the Pallet/Vault to blind the Killer can also be spend to run away and gain some distance.

    So I would not call them strong, the use at Vaults and Pallets is limited vs good Killers and flashlight Saves can be avoided by looking at the wall.

    There is usually chase music going on, so with iron will it is pretty hard to hear footsteps. I would never use one without iron will. It is super strong with quick and quiet / head on / inner strength as well, since you can blind at a pallet and then jump into a locker silently. If they figure out what happened, you hit them with the head on. If they don't figure it out fast enough, you heal.

    Use FL to "burn" the hags' traps. This is ingame already unless gotted rid of. I dont know not played for a long time and only pop in every few months till i get sick of this game.


    On a killer hiatus as of the patch and on surv duty. Matchmaking was killing me. green ranked against red ranks. Not fun in the sligtest. I dont mind getting beat. But can it be at least by people who are in my rank/skill level and not people who totally have the ability to humiliate me.


    I know i get 4ks and have gotten 4k's from rank 15 to the 9 that i am at now. But that was different.
