Collection of my games which show how frustrating killer can be.

I'm going to update this thread with various games i play the next few days that show that what happens when a killer goes against a good SWF/Solo survivor team. So people can see that it is extremely difficult to make any progress as killer. I'm also going to show games i both win and lose and some i even completely dominate in, so i can show all aspects of it. I will also show some games i play from survivor side.

Here is the first one with play by play (timestamps reference the timer in the top left of the screen):

(Game starts ~30 seconds in for now, used youtube trim to cut out loading but it takes time)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nowfoc48lzU

Start: Immediately run to the opposite end and Static Blast to find someone.

0:36: Find the first survivor

0:50: I realize i can't mindgame him very well so i just opt to break the pallet.

1:00: hit him through the blind

1:15: He throws a pallet and i just break it since i know hes hard to mindgame.

1:35: First gen pops

1:40: I go for it and miss

1:45: I down him (Chase lasted ~1 minute, broke 3 pallets)

1:55: i hook him and immediately run to the gen i hear being repaired

2:15: Second chase starts

2:20: First hit on 2nd chase

2:24: guy gets unhooked, decide to break chase and run to him as he is weak and i know hes hard to chase so i want to try to catch him offguard and eliminate him early

2:46: i force him off the pallet with my shock therapy

2:52: dead hard saves him from his mistake

2:58: again i can't mind game him so i break pallet and break chase, hes too hard for me to chase so i try to go after someone else.

3:00: 3rd chase starts

3:08: first hit on 3rd chase

3:20: This pallet is safe so i break it.

3:28: i try to cut him off but he loops back and i lose him briefly

3:40: found him

3:49: 2nd gen pops

3:52: decide to break chase from him to try to pressure gens.

4:00 4th chase starts

4:04: i see the safe pallet i left behind and break it

4:14: god pallet wasted

4:20: she goes to the area with multiple windows so i break chase to pressure gens

4:30: hear a gen being repaired and go to it

4:32: 5th chase starts

4:35 1st hit in chase

4:55: dead hard save him from his mistake again

5:09: 3rd gen pops

5:15: got him

5:16: 4th gen pops

5:20: 5th gen pops

5:30 Camp hook (what else can i do?)

6:07: land a hit and decide to commit to it.

6:18: held in case of dead hard

6:19: downed

6:24: another hit

6:30: at this point i realize they are going to be super altruistic and decide to hard camp this.

7:30: their whole team makes a play and un hooks, i land a hit and they all block me.

7:47: borrowed time

7:55: down

8:00 i chase them out

8:30 i chase last one out

8:40: claim my only kill.

Now here's the problem with this one. I'm sure some people will say that i didn't "pressure enough" but i broke off chases that i saw were taking too long to go back to gens. If i stayed and chased the person i would have lost gens even faster and then survivor mains would tell me that i should "break chase and pressure gens when chases last too long" so i did that very thing and all i did was buy an extra minute or 2. Then looking near the 5 minute mark you can see that the survivors had enough messing around and popped 3 gens within 10 seconds of each other. In general, i felt completely helpless this game. Every chase the survivors would run to safe pallet after safe pallet and i couldn't do anything other than eat them or break chase.

I'll post more as i play, but this took some time to edit/annotate.

EDIT 1:

Game 2 from the survivor side:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dzOy8hphjMw

Game starts: See the Dwight and immediately hop on a gen

0:20: M1 Simulator

0:52: teammate gets hit

0:58: first gen pops

1:06: help on gen in middle

1:15: killer shows up, dodge him a bit

1:25: see him run off hop back on gen

1:35: 2nd gen pops

1:45: teammate down, notice killer has knockout

1:50: hop on another gen

2:05: killer chases me

2:33: killer hits me

2:45: lose him

2:55: looking for team to heal me

3:00: start walking in case he is following me

3:15: can't find my team, hit the basement hoping for medkit

3:45: looking for a gen, still don't know this reworked map too well as survivor

4:20: found a gen

4:36: killer downs teammate near me

4:50 position myself for the save

5:10: tap the gen

5:20: killer chasing me

5:25: 3rd gen pops

5:38: hear someone working on other gen, decide to run killer elsewhere but get downed

5:50: killer can't find hook

6:05: break free

6:15: lose track of killer

6:22: he legitimately startles me

6:44: 4th gen pops

7:25: teammate unhooks, and heals

7:38: 5th gen pops

7:55 run to exit gate and heal teammate

8:05: see someone get downed, gonna go save them

8:45: killer misses me and runs for gate, i go for save but get beaten to it, head toward other gate

9:25: get forced out by killer and escape

This game i was basically running perkless Jane for the challenge. You can see how fast the first 2 gens popped, in less than 2 minutes. Nearly a minute 30. Probably would have popped the others faster if i knew the map better. There were some times where it was clear the killer made some mistakes but the gens all popped so close together in the early game and the end game that i doubt he had time to even think.

Now imagine that chase from 2:05 to 2:45, 30 seconds. Imagine if my team was working a gen or 2 during that time. They likely would have popped 1, like they did the second time the killer chased me.

EDIT 2:

Game 3:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L0hNYtbXaQg

0:06: almost immediately i spot someone

0:19: first hit/chase

0:30 i break off because i know she will make the pallet and i want to take advantage of sloppy/nurses

0:50: break a few pallets

1:10: find my injured person again

1:21: first gen pops

1:37: grab her from locker

1:48: 2nd gen pops

2:00 chase guy going for the save off and go back to hook/gen

2:22: miss the hit, see shes looping killer shack so i go back to hook

2:38: land a hit and start chase

2:50: downed

3:00: rush to gen being worked on

3:10: shes able to keep away from me before i uncloak and runs to killer shack so i go to the gas station to get the one trapped in there.

3:27: miss the hit, but burned sprint burst

3:30: go back to gen thats almost complete

3:50: break a safe unmindgameable pallet and check the gen

3:55: go back to gas station

4:10: 3rd gen pops

4:11: mindgames hit

4:30: i try to keep her on that side while i break it

4:50: completely lose her, break the pallet and check for a second then move on

5:10: find the whole team healing/doing a gen land a hit

5:28: i hear someone injured so turn to them

5:35: i spot someone working that gen so i run to them

5:45: chase the injured person again, they make the fast vault so i run towards the gen and it's being worked on again.

3:50: chase them off the gen.

6:00: instead of chasing her in killer shack (shes good at looping) i try to bait the guy repairing the gen.

6:10: 4th gen pops

6:11: it works

6:25:i get stuck in a persistent chase, as soon as i commit i know the gen will pop, but i want to try to waste a couple pallets for noed.

6:58: land a hit

7:00: 5th gen pops

7:01: downed

7:20: start running toward the gate

7:25: spot the guy but i hear the gate so i go to try and stop it.

7:30: manage to body block her from the gate and down her with noed

7:50: i see an injured guy going for a save the long way around so opt to go after the other 2 near my totem

8:10: down

8:15: run to my totem

8:32: down

8:35: i go to other guy in case they ran to heal

8:55: i see one still by the gate and know the other is gonna go for the hook

9:20: go for the guy sticking around

9:30: down a guy, go to force the other one out

9:45: shes forced out

9:50 start heading to guy i downed

10:05: other one escaped, claim my 2k

This game felt pretty frustrating, 2 gens popped before the 2 minute mark, at least i get a hook before then. Mid game felt better i was bouncing around to targets a bit because they hugged the killer shack a lot and i wanted to take advantage of them all being injured and surprise them. The part that felt the worst was with the last 2 gens. I was stuck there, if i commited to any chase that gen would immediately fall. But i could never actually land any hits on anyone. Although, even if i did, they would just back out and heal then come back again. It was really frustrating because almost immediately as soon as i started chasing, the guy ran back to the gen. It was likely a SWF. After a bit, i decided to let the last gen fall and rely on NOED. Granted i got the 2k and safety pip, but it felt bad. It was really fast in the early game and i had to rely on NOED, which nobody likes it when killers use it.

Randomly breaking chase for no good reason isn't good strategy. Keep gen and survivor proximity in mind, and especially god loops when deciding when to break chase. Abandoning a chase can be worth it if done early with proper foresight, but is costly if done last minute after investing too much time in it. It's mostly game sense stuff, you probably already know most of it by now.

If i didn't break chase you would tell me to not chase people for so long. Just read around in threads where people link videos of this stuff and you will see people say that. I can't do both. Also only one chase i broke in which it took me a longer time to find someone else. Every other time was less than 5 seconds.

Doc can definitely be pickier with chases, so it's best to estimate the outcomes when first choosing a gen/survivor to chase. I'm not saying you shouldn't have broken chase, I'm just saying breaking chase is better the faster you do it. I know it's hard to keep track of so much all at once and try to time doctor's shocks, but that's what we get more experienced at the game for. Maybe my entire comment is a complex git gud?

This is a very survivor sided map, I think it has the most safe pallets in the game so it was always going to be difficult against a good team.

Commit to the chase once pallet down. You changed directions at least twice on the first chase and went the long way round.

A lot of the first 30 sec i say was just running around looking at walls it seems. At one point you got stuck into a locker corner wasting two seconds rather than getting near gens. They are going to be working on gens once they know its you.

Survs very often now spawn in groups, without the offering, and furthest away from you.

Nice hit during the blind but missed the shock and got stunned. During the chase after that you let loose a shock which was just a waste of time. He was goign to continue going round. If a shock was needed it would have been further into that circle.

Good movement cutting the corners to keep track of him.

Swung at air and way too early. Nerves. I get it. That cost you two, three seconds at least and then back on chase. Seconds count. You dont have time to waste.

Down. Good hit. Wait till they are good at 360 during the lunge. That is what gets me a lot. I hit them and then poof they are gone for some reason. At least you hold the mouse steady and are not as erratic as me.

After that hook i would have gone after that person rather than kick the gen. Since now it seems you lost them and have to find another one.

    Simple things.

Not going to comment on the surv game. I suck ass and am stuck in yellow ranks. As killer i stopped caring at rank 8 cos of the swf BS and cos of the speed the gens were popping. I am no longer playing killer and the ques are a telling story. No ruin either so dont even go there. Instant que for killer. Surv have to wait ages. This tells me ........yeah. You know. it. Killer are not playing anymore.

The only thing I seen from the second video is that you played a bad killer. How is he going to play bubba and not even attempt to use the chainsaw? That's his only power! That's like playing freddy and not using snares or teleportation. There was literally no point of him playing bubba. If he's bad with the chainsaw use a different killer!

I mean I could post videos of me getting 4k with no gens done against potato survivors. But what would that prove?

    Hi there Reinami,

Watched your Doc game. The game offers a lot of good pallets for survivors. I will say that I don’t think your perk set up worked well for the map. In the Game whispers is always going off and Barbecue and Chili can give you little information depending on where you hook. While enduring is good for the map, don’t usually see it on a doc. You might want to consider changing up your build.

There were several times where I think static blast usage would have helped. I would suggest using it more often and looking at the information given. There was an instance in the game where it showed you two survivors next to each other and you continued going after the solo one. Depending on madness level, that solo survivor might not have been doing anything if you broke chase.

It also looks like your shock therapy is missing your targets which is costing you time.

I did think you played the end game well consider what you were up against. You did a good job of damaging. Just some thoughts.
