As a Survivor Main(7.9k hrs) It'd say Ruin change is horrible
I understand Ruin change was made to make newer players have a less hard time to fix generators but goddamn low rank killers don't use ruin at all because they don't even have hag
I like old Ruin as a survivor main because before We needed to look for ruin or we take this long time fixing which frustrated me even back then but now... Like I only hold M1 Every. Single. Game...
Before I atleast would try to look for the ruin and it was more fun trying to focus and hit on those great skillchecks to not get ruin and now I just need to hold M1 and put just a little focus and hit it and then go back on my phone to view reddit
I'm saying this as a long time player:
pls bring back old ruin, it's not fun anymore to play survivor :/ just too easy now ...

Killers will get used to it, and the game will be back to being hard. I hear they're already starting to use noed more. Totem minigames is what you want right?

Welp, get used to it. I don't think any balance changes are gonna focus on the high skill players anymore. It's all gonna be pandering to the revolving door of new players, who leave as soon as they get at all competent because the game's gonna have no depth.

I'm actually liking new Ruin on some killers. With Surveillance it is REALLY strong. You just need to pressure survivors off a gen. If you can do this regularly you can keep most gens at 0 progress.

yeah I can literally send you all the games i had today, all ended between 5-8minutes, like I play a bit competitively just because it's more fun that way and before killers could apply pressure by atleast having ruin so gens don't get done instantly while i loop shack
but now i loop the shack and about 4gens by the time god pallet drops... Like i want longer chases but by the time i'm downed all exit gates are already opened ;D

If you were going up against survivors whom you could do that to, you were gonna get a convincing win anyway. Win more is not what Killers need, and definitely not on a Hex perk.

New Ruin gets stronger the fewer gens there are to repair. If survivors pop 2 gens in your first chase then it's easier to pressure the others to 0.
I've been picking the 4 closest gens to my Ruin and protecting that area. It's very effective even against good groups of survivors.
Maybe stop for a second and think tactically. The devs said that gens aren't supposed to last for 4 minutes. Expect 1 or 2 to pop your first chase. There's nothing actually WRONG with that if you have Ruin and take time to pressure gens. It works.

I'd honestly rather play basement bubba than gen keeper. Gen keeper is such a tedious and annoying playstyle, as much as I hate having the survs go through 5 gens in 5 minutes, I also don't want 30 minute games where I'm hounding survivors away from gens.

New Ruin isn't bad, but it should become new perk instead of taking place of old Ruin.

I'd say it was a horrible idea if they have nothing else in store. They need to do something about the gen speed. Not increase the base time. A secondary objective. I don't understand why they pushed through the nerf without a something ready to be implemented.

Well great skill checks takes a small potion of skills, which most survivors don't have so they had to nerf.

No, because if you play gen defense you cannot go for a chase, so you ain't killing anyone, and you just slowly bleed out and lose the game if they have 3 or 4 people, or they slowly bleed out and lose the game if less.

Actually new Ruin allows you to chase. Just push them off the gen and chase someone. The gen regresses on its own.

- You can destroy hexes, and now there are 2 of them so it is easier to find them.
- Killer has to use 2 perks slots, so he has only 2 perks if you destroy his hex totems.
- Killer can chase only one person at the time, so you could still do a gen if your friend is being chased.

It is a perk, not a think you must activate. Byt since you made the no effort argument, should ds only activate when you were chased by the killer for 3 minutes? 5? And dead hard, surely it takes a lot of effort to use it right?
