What do you think about the devs?
Honestly I think they do a great job. They overcome difficult decisions and they are active in the community. They are a bit slow, I must say, but it's worth to wait. Their ideas for chapters are phenomenal and the art team always nails it.
How about you? Let me know down below.
Just to specify, this is a chill forum, keep the conversation civil. If you think they are bad in any way, put a limit in what you wanna say. And please do not start an argument in this forum. Again.
Thank you 😊😘

Mixed, Im impressed by some stuff and super dissapointed and shocked at other stuff.
I would say in general im more negative about them then possitive.

Design team is great, balance team is either smoking some good or way too heavily influenced by corporate because all the balance changes seem to be being made to attract new players without considering longevity of the game.
34 -
I think they having good intentions, but they making bad decisions, born out the wrong reasons they seem to find important.
11 -
Their ability to break things is simultaneously disappointing and impressive.
Also Peanits is a cool guy.

The art team has been knocking it out of the park for over a year now. Everyone else needs to re-evaluate their decision to make video game development their profession.
21 -
They've screwed up bad a couple times. At least they know it and work to fix it.
0 -
The design team is top notch. The balance team is disconnected from the game and too up their own asses to accept being wrong. They're amateurs at this and it shows.
21 -
Their art teams are fantastic.
The problems come from how slow they are honestly. Like we need matchmaking and ranking fixed like 6 months ago, not "When we get around to it". We have bugs staying in the game for not days or weeks or even months but YEARS sometimes.
They just need to start fixing major issues, and not just saying they are aware of it or they are working on it. There is too much dismissing and not enough action.

Art and design are usually really good. Balance choices are really baffling sometimes. I think despite everything they legitimately care about both sides. They really are trying to make the game as fun as possible. Though many of us disagree with some of the things they do to achieve that goal.
7 -
The art and design team are awesome, but the balancing team need to be fired and replaced with devs who are more competent.

Art and Concept team needs a goddamn medal for the top-notch work they put out.
Map team has proven to me they learn from their past mistakes and I always look forward to what new thing they're going to have us toy with. Sure the balance messes up from time to time, but they eventually get it right.
Cote is a walking meme machine, but I love how blunt he is so I can forgive him when he misteps. I respect blunt honesty, even if it's not the news I wanted to hear.
The balance team? Well... they remind me a lot of a Bakadere - well meaning and I think at the core they love this game, but they are hopelessly clumsy or slow in the head. They eventually get it right though, so I've grown patient with them.

I have more hours in this game than I've invested in any other. I'd say they're good. I don't agree with their approach to killer power counterplay or map tile balance much of the time though. The top end survivors break the game unless you take Spirit or happen to be a fantastic Nurse. That's a problem to me. Why have 15-20 completely safe pallets for good survivors to use when those pallets aren't even safe in the hands of most purple rank survivors? You're just breaking the game at the highest level and not moving the needle anywhere else.

I think Bathesda would do a better job.

Nah, that's too far man. BHVR may have made some questionable choices, but it's nowhere near the dumpster fire of 76.
3 -
Art team is top notch, seriously most skins I want to cosplay most of the costumes and characters
Design team needs to play more on higher ranks and watch higher ranks gameplay to understand what is going on with the game, maybe even talk with fog whispers to understand better(while taking their comments with a grain of salt)
Community team is eh, some posts are bad apples

Questionable at times, one occassion was too terrible for me to play at the time.
Otherwise they kept the game fun enough for me to continue to play for over 3 years.

I think they're a bunch of mediocre (high-balling this) game developers that stumbled upon, by complete chance, a winning formula. Them, not expecting their game to take off as it has, are now victims of this success. They don't know what to do with the game so now they're trying to make as much money off of it as possible before it goes the way of Deathgarden (you know, their other game that died a very quick death).

They're cute.
3 -
as people they seem extremely nice most Devs are usually pricks
5 -
I think they’re people and care about the game. I do think if they stopped avoiding hot topics and dodging questions, people would be much less angry. They stay dodging all important topics and it’s infuriating.
plus David is bae. Cute nerds always do it for me.

I think the devs are very incompetent when it comes to the bugs in their game and the length it takes to fix them. I think that throughout the years playing this game they have made double the amount of bad decisions than they have good ones. I appreciate that they do their best, always release new content, but I do not like how out of touch they sometimes are in regards to their playerbase. I wish they didn't take so long to change things in their game, I wish that the majority of perks weren't garbage, I wish they'd stop releasing massive maps, or indoor maps. Clearly they care a lot about the game and the players, but it's easy to miss when there is always something in the game to be frustrated about.

100% impressed with the art but with the balance team yup. its like they have their hands tied behind their backs when it comes to changes imo
3 -
Honestly I think they are just doing what the important people are expecting them to do; which is make more money with the game.
1 -
I don't always agree with them on balance but they're awesome from what i can see.
Peanits, Queen and McLean are very entertaining on their streams very cool people.

I'm still holding a grudge on them for one reason.
They. Still. Haven't. Returned. My. Lost. Legacy. Cosmetics.
And all they need to do is have a dedicated support team looking at proof people like me would send in. With steam prestige achievements before the 24th November 2016 as an absolute requirement.
*deep sigh*

Its a bit of a love hate vibe. Sometimes I have fun and appreciate them, other times, not so much.

Disconnected from the community.

The art team is amazing.
Map team.... Matt Walker LOL.
Balance team, Clueless and don't understand their own game.
As for recent changes. I like the new Doc and Lerys but that ruin change is garbage because of terrible map design, totems and gen times.
I'll see what they do in the future, still waiting for that Bubba buff/rework BHVR and hopefully some skins to go with it.

I would like to have McLeans Beard.

They could use some new people with new ideas to shake things up in the balance and development teams.
They've mentioned how they didn't want to hire new people who didn't understand their process. This can also be interpreted as they don't want ideas that challenge their current plan.
The art team is amazing.

I think they are spending way too much time on cosmetics. I like cosmetics but I would rather the game be balanced and work well.
1 -
I think the Devs for the most part are pretty good. I defintely think they should do more with they're fog whispers. Like consolt them on ideas for balance changes or look at they're feedback. Granted the bugs are pretty bad, some are funny. But they are passionate about the project and i think they should be more open to feedback.

They care more about battle passes and cosmetic sales then they do about anything else.
Sorry i am not a sheep. The entire team is inept.
1 -
This. Its a beautiful game with well done characters and set pieces. But the balance is ######### and continues to make the power role the wrong side.
1 -
they care about shoveling new content at us without fixing the fundamental problems with the game, along with basic game health.
2 -
They make some cool stuff with their killer designs and cosmetics.
I can see they are trying hard to balance their game but I feel like they are having a lot of trouble getting it right.
I think they should try to make the game more welcoming and appealing for new players to increase the playerbase.

They seem good, but I want to know why it takes them forever to balance killers/perks. Because they have been doing this for year while Bloodgarden (one of their own games) and Last Year would balance change often.🙃

I found this on twitter, and it perfectly describes it:
More or less, they are so far out of touch with their community, it's ridiculous.
1 -
Art and design awsome
Balance well that depends whether you rank 20 or rank 1 and killer or survivor

The teams are great, some slower in their jobs than others. However, they have their reasons why whatever it may be. There are some things that I don't agree with and others are questionable. I just need to have faith that they know what they are doing and wait for the bigger picture. I love the live streams, to me they are better if they happen often. I would love this game more it it had shirtless Dwight, thank you. ❤ Thank you team for all of the happy, sad, raging and confusing times. Oh and frustrating times can't forget those. Haha.
Shirtless Dwight 😍

The art and story teams are my heroes, I love them so much. Whomever reworked Freddy deserves the Medal of Honor (or it's Canadian equivalent). The "balance" team behind all the patches after the Stranger Things DLC, Mathieu, and the other guys from the last few streams should be fired and blacklisted from the North American programming industry.

Power-LOL

Is it really though? At this point EA could probably do better, we've already got the microtransactions

I like the devs as individuals, but when it comes to game balance they are inept. Plain and simple.
The only dev who might somewhat understand the killer role in red ranks is Not Queen. She seems to be more attuned to DbD's actual game balance. But I haven't kept up with her in a while now, so I don't know if that has changed.
Overall, I'm pretty disappointed in the devs. They are not on a good path in my opinion.

Balance team and people in charge of sound need to step it up sounds have been broken for 2+ months and map guys I hope really get to work on maps over all.
People in charge of the monetization are worrying me, I hope the battle pass is the last idea they have for extra monetization.
Art team do great, the designs are all fantastic.
To sum it up they are nice people with good intentions that i think need to listen to there community a bit more, ruin feedback felt like it was ignored for example and I hope that they don't squander the success this gold goose has brought them.

The art team deserves a raise.
The balance team on the other hand just refuses to listen to any feedback. Really stubborn.
They neglect the forums feedback and end up having to bandaid fix their ######### later down the road.
About the mods, I like Not_queen as you can see that she really pushes the devs during her interviews, despite not getting an appropriate answer.
Peanuts just try to be a smart ass and answer valid concerns with jokes. Really don't like him.

Matchmaking still needs to be fixed, they are working on it but it's taking way too long. Then you have things like the broken lobbies crashing and disconnecting people all the time, the infinite loading screen bug going for years, just so many problems hanging around for absurd lengths of time.
I get it takes time, but these are things we expect quicker because most devs....handle them quicker. The expectation is that critical issues be addressed ASAP, instead we keep getting far less important things instead.

Sounds to me like you’re just kissing up.
I've only been a DbD member since about October and since then this game has become a nightmare to play.
Extended Queue times as a survivor.
Short lived games as a killer.
Abusive survivor mechanics.
Any issue/glitch resulting in miserable gameplay for survivors seems to be fixed almost immediately while I’ve been reading about a sound bug on Spirit for months it feels.
Nurse is a ######### killer now and used to give me a world of problems but only the best can now.
Survivors are constantly calling for Nerfs against killers, their add-ons and their perks, and it seems the majority of the time the Devs follow suit.
One of the most used perks by Killer, (I rarely used unless a team of Toolboxes appear) Ruin, got nerfed because it was “too difficult” for new survivors to hit the skill checks.
Maps are too large for the majority of the killers except Freddy, Nurse, Billy, and ???
Vast majority of the killers lack mobility and most result in becoming M1 killers despite certain abilities (Bubba, GF).
Doctor was just reworked and Survivors are already screaming nerf and I’m sure it’ll comes
I understand that certain exhaustion perks have been “nerfed” and certain looping abilities have been altered, but this game is seriously one-sided and I feel it every single time I play this game on both sides.
Idk what changed but since the Ruin nerf, I’ve encountered too many games with Toolboxes and where 2-3 gens are popped during, or after my first chase. I believe it’s for the simple thought that survivors no longer FEAR Hex:Ruin. This is a game about a Killer vs 4 survivors and killers fear survivors more.
So, I’m very disappointed in this development team because this game has some serious potential but some serious bias towards one side.

Really called it like it is on ALL counts, good post
