Maps need serious revisiting.

I have to say that I'm quite disappointed with how slow things are changing in this game, especially when it comes to map changes. How maps currently are is really frustrating and only caters to a small number of killers, that being the high mobility ones. The sizes are too big, the lighting so inconsistent, and fog offerings are still in the game? Not only that, but they appear in KILLER blood webs, that take up Bloodpoints that could be used for actually useful things.

The killer that takes the biggest hit is Huntress. I find her so inconsistent and frustrating to play. When GF was released, I've noticed a MAJOR influx in trees and other LoS breakers. It's to the point that playing Huntress on maps like, Hawkins, The Game, SHELTER WOODS, Yamaoka maps, Coldwind maps, and the swamp maps, make her so unfun and stressful. Not to mention, the fallen down logs by the corners of the maps on the swamp maps have the oddest collision ever. If you hit near where the branches stick out, the hatchet hits thin air. That's like a metre away from the branches too.

I'm not trying to say if you get these maps it's always GG, but it is seriously unfun. It also really affects nurse. Imagine running the 3 blink addon, just to get Lery's, Hawkins, or The Game. You can't even use your power. How was that overlooked? You're SLOWER than a survivor, and you are unable to use your kit! Hawkins especially has literally 0 LoS aid. It's an ultra rare addons that makes your entire power futile on this map. Seriously ridiculous and embarrassing on whoever's idea this was.

At this point, I've been seriously upset with the decisions and slow pace you guys are taking for balancing the game. It's concerning, and comes off as you are trying your best to keep people entertained for a decent while, then after 2 months, people get burnt out, but don't worry, there will be a new patch that brings balance to 1 or 2 perks, as well as a potential character rework and map rework! Not to mention, but the new Yamaoka map that you released, is awful to play killer on. It's basically Azorovs, but smaller, darker, and full of LoS breakers. Not to mention Nurse still can't completely blink around the main building.

There has been NO communication about map changes. I don't know if it's some type of marketing tech to keep us oblivious, or if you guys haven't even brainstormed ideas about possible map reworks.

This comes from a fan of the game for the past 3 years. I really hope we can get some insight on IF there are going to be any changes, WHAT maps are going to be changes, and WHEN are these changes going to happen. We need to see healthy changes for this game, and faster.

The number of absolutely horrendous maps is possibly the biggest balance issue in the game, and it is beyond frustrating that the devs just...aren't aware? don’t care...?

1 or 2 map reworks every 6 months(?) or so isn't good enough. Especially after the ruin nerf, if you get Haddonfield, Yamaoka, Ormond, etc, and the survivors and killer are both equally skilled, the survivor team has to be outplayed severely for the killer to have a slight chance to win.

I have to say, why are inside only maps even a thing? They are impossible to balance and only cater to stealthy killers.

God, I completely forgot about the horrendous map of which is Ormound. Also, I totally agree. No map should provide favoritism to either side. We need to see multiple map updates, PER update. Get these level designers to make some changes, before releasing new ones.

Until the maps get updates, I don't want to play some "dice rolling" simulator that has a high potential of predicting game outcomes because of what maps I get.

I wouldn't put too much faith in their level designers. Before the Lery's rework they released that 2nd Yamaoka map. Not good.

What the level designers should focus on is the maps that have the highest escape rates for survivors and the highest kill rates for killer.

I dont want them to rush it though. @LemeTheMeme it's a bad idea to rush map development as it will turn out terrible.

Also ormond isn't too bad. It's bright enough to see even blendettes. +seal of approval

Sanctum isn't too bad for either side, though I can see survivors having around a ~ 60% escape rate, which isn't neccesarily too bad.

Anything reaching a 70% mark for either side should definitely be looked at

They said that they're looking into maps (don't know when but)

All that they mentioned was they are aware we want map changes. They didn’t go any further to explain what they are changing. It feels almost as if they’re ignoring it, but that’s just my take. I couldn’t find any discussions about maps with dev comments on them.

Honestly, that's my take on it too. I don't want to start saying the Devs are more survivor sided, but what evidence are they showing to us that they're not? All we keep getting from them is a 'soon' or 'Later date', but in my opinion, this isn't good enough. They clearly know the issues are here, but still choose to drag their feet about it all. I wonder what's going to make them realise? When all the killers leave the game? When survivors get nothing but 100% escape rates? Makes you wonder.

Was it just bad rng for me or did the Lery's rework turn every single pallet outside of the operating circular room into safe pallets? The hallways used to be almost all unsafe / gameable with the "long rooms" / bathrooms being generally safe.

The map got many more safe pallets. I agree that it is a nice looking map, but in practice it isn’t very fun.

I know, I hate that so much. I wish they would disclose plans they have for map balancing. We have gotten no insight and it’s a let down.

The only thing it had for it was the size and shape before...they changed the shape so killer has to travel further for corner gens. Now they increased safe pallets in a map with infinite windows to use (only some being 'useless').

Lery's had one of the highest kill rates when compared to all of the other maps, of course changes would be made to make it more fair towards the survivors.

    The design goal is 2K.

Even then with the changes, I have yet to experience vault/pallet abuse in Lery's when i play as killer. The map isn't big enough for anyone to waste time with someone abusing an infinite, even if there was one.

All the older maps on the otherhand...please change it thoroughly.

I don't care if loops become less safe if they finally make hooks actually distant from each other.
