Mechanic change - idea
Devs said the game was made so that about 2-3 gens to be done within the first 4 minutes of the match, they don't want there to be 5 gens at the end of the match, I also assume they Don't want the killer to not be able to hook anyone, but in the current state game simply finishes too quickly in my opinion. How about keeping the low base time required for finishing a gen, but applying a stacking slowdown to gen speed for every gen that's done (let's say 10%), so doing last gen you're doing it at only 60% base speed. To balance it out, the survivors would get 15% bonus for every survivor that gets permanently killed not to make it too easy for a killer too snowball after getting the first kill and to balance it out. This way at 2 gens left and with 2 survivors left (halfway for each side) the game would again be exactly as it is now. Potentially that would cause genrushing to become more difficult and game would be actively making the chances more even for the losing team. In theory it would lead to more balanced games from both sides, increasing the fairness of the game and overall creating a more enjoyable experience.

The problem with that is 3-gen strats would be much more nasty. And while the devs apparently want the early game to go fast, they also don't want the late game to last too long.

I would do this but in reverse, make a Gen 40 percent slower at the start of the game and as gens are done reduce the slowdown by 10 percent. You could also have a early game startup where gens would be very slow and extra time for killers like hag and trapper to set up and for survivors to search chests and cleanse totems

That's why it would give the opposite effect for survivors dying, it would make it very difficult for all 4 to escape (which should never be the case really), but at the same time, if the killer starts string by killing someone gens become easier so that remaining survivors still have a decent chance

It could be good too, but it could also lead to a huge snowball effect where once one gen pops they all start going

In a vacuum, yes. But keep in mind the killer would have time to start getting map pressure at that point.
