Is it even worth it to slug, tunnel, or camp?
Sometimes when I get into a game I don't really tend to tunnel, camp etc, I can't even camp people I always want to get into the action if you know what I mean, the only time I tunnel is when if someone tries to be toxic, but when I'm a survivor and going against a tunneling killer, they usually end up winning the game with 4k so I don't know what I might be doing wrong when I tunnel.

When you're tunneled, the game falls on the shoulders of your teammates. If they suck, that game is over.
Unfortunately for you, you seem to be getting competent survivors when you are killer but garbo ones when you're survivor. My condolences.

Camping = only works against bad survivors. Completely luck based. Requires survivors to throw the game by sneaking around the hook instead of doing gens. Not a satisfying way to win for experienced killers as you just know you won because they let you.
Tunneling = works 50/50 even against experienced survivors IF you manage to tunnel the first survivors out of the game QUICKLY. However if you try and tunnel a solid looper who manages to get away from the hook and makes it to a good loop you will pretty much throw the game for no reason as you aren't pressuring the other survivors by tunneling one specific survivor.
Slugging: Requires luck and bad survivors that go down quickly. Luck because there are perks that will nullify the pressure you can POTENTIALLY gain from slugging. Simple scenario: You chase a survivor for around 40 seconds (half a generator per survivor) and you leave them after downing them. Now you go to the gens with the intention to build massive pressure. However that slugged survivor gets up using Unbreakable and immediately hops on a generator. Now you've wasted 1 hook and you potentially lost half a generator PER SURVIVOR if they were repairing gens during those 40 seconds.
If all survivors manage to loop decently, repair gens whenever they can AND run Unbreakable and/or Tenacity slugging can actually hurt you.

I don't think I explained what happens when I tunnel but basically what happens is that the survivors I go against end up winning and I might get a 1k so i really don't know what I might be doing wrong.

How long do you find yourself generally tunneling for? If it isn't a quick down then at least 2 people have been working on generators the whole time. That might result in everyone escaping except the one, since no pressure is being put on the others.

Learning to tunnel out the strongest survivor as fast as possible or tunnel out other survivors to pull their strongest survivor into a situation that does not benefit them is something you learn to do as you play more.

I try not to tunnel the hole game since it does lead to gens being done and then the body blockers.

Not all killers can get a good score. For m1 killers playstyle may not matter. M1 may get a kill and may not get a single kill.
