New Chapter: Desolate Wastes

So, since it was 29*C at 2:30am in Australia where I am, it's time that I designed an ice themed killer, and tried to redo my Survivor. For the 5(?) of you who have seen my Survivor, then you'll know that one of the perks have changed. It was going to be a bit too powerful in most usable iterations, and if people started flaming me over a Gen-Rush perk for a Survivor, my eventual retaliations would get me banned.

This killer will have one very specific role, and that is to lock down areas, and to be a new pressure killer, much like the Doctor. Numbers can be tweaked, but I would like the core concept to stay the same.

Killer Designation: The Mountaineer

Edward Hardy was a veteran Arctic explorer, able to traverse many great mountain ranges, aware of all the dangers of the snowy wilderness and how to avoid them. During one trek, he had decided to take on a rookie who was willing to pay him as a tutor for wilderness survival, a decision that he would pay for dearly. While passing through a seemingly harmless area, the rookie started to walk across, with Edward noticing the dangerous thin ice sheet covering a crevasse. Hardy sprinted and knocked the rookie away from the sheet, but he himself was knocked onto the sheet. Hanging by the rope that tied them together, Edward started to attempt to climb back up, his rookie however, saw a very different picture. Unaware of his partner's own traction, using a combination of the rope and his pick, cut the rope with his free hand, as he was holding up the pair with his own pick.

Edward suddenly felt the rope go slack as he was going for a heave, barely a metre from the top of the crevasse and safety. He fell screaming, seeing the bare rocks flying by him, and strange tentacles reaching for him as he fell.

He awoke in a strange land. It had the familiar snow that he had felt beneath his feet for years yet he was not in the same mountain where he was........ abandoned.

Left to die.

He heard a whisper within his head. "Kill them. Prevent them from leaving. Break the generators. Break their spirits." And it was with this that he now had a new purpose. Ice ran through his veins and now. Ice that follows his command, not the other way around. He was in control of the situation and HE would determine who lives or dies.

Weapon - large ice pick

Size - Large

Terror Radius: 32m

Movement Speed: 4.6m/s

Ability: Cold Snap

The Mountaineer crates a localised blizzard within his terror radius. This lasts for 20 seconds and cannot be activated again until the previous activation has ended. All vault-able objects, lockers and generators are sealed off and unable to be interacted with during this time or for 2 seconds after the power ends or is moved away from the object. If a survivor is in a locker, they are trapped in that locker for the duration of Cold Snap. Survivors within the area of Cold Snap have the Hindered status effect. The Mountaineer has his movement reduced to 4.4m/s while within the area of Cold Snap.

Add-ons would increase the duration of the freezing effect, add status conditions like Blinded or Exhausted while in Cold Snap, with an Iridescent keeping the Cold Snap centred on the Mountaineer for the duration.

Perks: Ummmmmmmmm. None that I can think of. Not that fit this theme anyway, and I've already used my killer perks on the Enforcer, who they fit much better thematically.

[Survivor] is from the rural Outback of the Australian deserts. As both a means of survival and work, he scrounged around his junkyard and tinkered with various mechanical items around the place, essentially becoming something akin to a mechanic, although he generally had to shortcut certain areas due to lack (and lack of quality) of certain parts, making him adapt on the fly. One day though, when digging through a pile of scrap, he slipped off a high point and fell. Next he awoke, it was cold, dark and there was a familiar sound of an old, beaten generator nearby.

Perks:

Scavenger: Anything can be used if you put your mind to it, and after years of practice, you now EXACTLY what to look for. When you search a chest, the item will have two add-ons. One will be of brown rarity, the other will be Brown/Yellow/Green.

She'll be Right: A common Australian saying and a way of life. You'll worry about it later, since there are more important things to be done. When taking a Vault action, you have a 25/30/35% to ignore an incoming attack from the killer. Can only trigger once per chase.

Ramshackle: When the killer damages a generator you have worked on, it cannot regress below 30/40/50% completion. You must have worked on the generator for the amount of progression for this to activate. Generators can still be damaged but do not regress if within the repaired zone.
