Stop handing out participation trophies to baby survivors.
I'm really tired of looping a killer for 5-6 minutes straight IN THE END GAME and seeing David watch me loop like it's a brand new concept.
Red ranks SHOULD belong to good players, but instead its like losing every Little League baseball game in a season but getting a "trophy for participating! Good job kids!"

Can you imagine people using self care and urban evasion in red ranks lmfao

Rank is about to be meaningless anyway so I doubt they'll make too many more adjustments to emblems.
2 -
If you want good people at red ranks then get rid of 5 gen hatch.

Maybe the david is a pro and thinking what the hell is this noob looping the killer when exit gate is open for "5-6 minutes" yeah right, end game puts a timer for 2 minutes, even with injured or down survivor, it won't be dragged that long, stop baiting, thread does not serve any purpose

I mean the devs themselves acknowledged that rank shows how much you play and not how well. The new skill ratings will be hidden.
So yeah, the game will not give you feedback how you well you play compared to others. DbD had the potential to be a seriously competitive game, but the devs want it to be a casual party game. A casual party game with serious ranking + matchmaking system? Not going to happen.

I was once getting chased by the doctor in madness 3. All gens done, only me and another teammate were left. Guess who wasn't opening the gates to help me out.
We all died thanks to this idiot.
Note: I was running the killer for ~3 minutes at the end. No clue how much more time he needed to do his job.

I had something similar happen! Except...
All the gens were done, and I was being chased by the Demogorgon. One other survivor, a Bill, was left. I led this Demo on a chase more than long enough for a gate to get opened. I finally started running towards the gate Bill must be at, hoping I'd see the EGC timer start any second. I got through the corn and I saw...
Nothing. Not a single red light. Bill hadn't even touched the door. I just came to a stop and turned and looked at the Demo. The Demo stopped, turned in a circle looking around, looked at me, and then just walked away. He let me open the door and escape.
Seeing the Demo looking around visibly confused is one of my favorite moments in a match ever.
(It's bad when even the killer is like, 'Sorry your teammate screwed you over.' And yeah, it is sooo upsetting when teammates don't open an exit gate.)

This isnt bait. He DIDN'T open the gates. I was hoping he would.

I also have a nice story to share: After the gens were done, I was getting chased by a hag. She already hit me once, so everybody knew she didn't have NOED. I was running to the exit gate where everybody was (I had Bond). The exit gate was at 99%, the other 3 guys were healthy, everybody hiding pretty close to the gate. As I was running to the gate, nobody took a hit for me, they didn't even open the gate, they just kept hiding. It was ridiculous.

The thing is, with matchmaking as it is currently you just can't rely on your teammates' experience to react to a situation adequately. In your situation even with bond I'd rather try to lose the hag or get outplayed and take the sacrifice. I've been in this predicament enough to know that for every time the other survivors will open the door and take a hit for you there will be a time that they will do exactly what they did in your game. You can't even get mad for it, because a lot of the time they do this simply due to inexperience.

Or you could stop nerfing killers into the ground.
Bring back the old nurse but keep the add on changes
Actually address gen times instead of covering it up with a band aid then removing said band aid(ruin)
Fix the killer glitches as fast as you fixed the ds bug.

We aren't directly mad at the players, we are more mad about this flawed ranking and matchmaking system and I'm afraid that the MMR system won't make it better but worse.

Imagine if killer got a participation trophy like the hatch is for survivor. The killer lost horribly and the survivors are all about to walk out the gates when all of the sudden one just falls over dead. Sounds ridiculous doesn't it.
A slight exaggeration, but that's essentially what's happening.
4 -
It wont. Trash will be trash.

I get it and you're absolutely right. The MMR system probably won't be this magical fix for the matchmaking issues, just like dedicated servers weren't the magic fix for the latency issues.
Just to give you a different perspective - For example, I'm actually really enjoying the randomness I'm currently experiencing with both survivor and killer, so I'm not upset about it at all. Each game is so different from the previous and you never know whether you'll get potatoes or absolute gods as teammates or opponents, so it actually breaks up the monotony for me personally.

I didn't record that particular one. But I can get proof its easy to do on Rancid Abbatoir. However I'm sure most killers can attest to that loop being broken.

Did the Demo kill the Bill?

Ack Ack Ack Ack ack snort snort snort

You know what? I think the hatch should count against emblem progress/MMR. Sure, they escaped, but they used the easy out that's just in place to keep a lost game from going on any longer. I feel like that shouldn't be rewarded, just like a killer who sits on every hook they catch has their emblem score penalized right now.

That's what happens when it's simply too easy to rank up. If it was too difficult it would also cause problems, specifically from a matchmaking standpoint. The way rank resets makes it a problem as well, which is something that will be non-existent after it's changed, which is a good thing.
If their new matchmaking is like their pip system for determining rank, or even if it's much simpler than that, then you can probably expect your games to be relatively the same as they are now - you'll just never know because even YOU won't know your rank or your invisible MMR.
Did you guys know that it was a massive deal in many gaming communities when MMR was hidden? People had to complain for very long before things became visible, unless they also had leagues and ranks like gold/silver/etc. Now in a game that already doesn't even have the decency to tell you if you're playing against SWF, you also won't ever know the skill level of anyone else, or yourself.

Unfortunately not. I'm not sure exactly where Bill was hiding, but it was somewhere nearby. I remember him creeping over to me when I opened the door with birds over his head. -_-
1 -
Or what if they had to open another gate after the first gate to escape?
0 -
An escape isn't necessarily a win.

Depends on the person.

Lol ok DSP didnt know you lurked here. XD

I don't use urban but I have to say... it's obviously working for them if they got into red ranks. I don't know why people think they have the right to judge how other people want to play the game as if their way is superior. They can use whatever they want. Your opinion on it is no better than anyone else's. Not saying that to be rude but yeah. Let people play how they want to, especially if its not really hurting anyone else and those perks aren't hurting anyone else. If your win is determined by another person's perk choice then I'm sad to say it's not them it's you. Generally speaking, of course.

You can run Perkless in Red Ranks and still pip, I've done it before. It's ridiculously easy to rank up as a Survivor. I just love watching the potatoes out potato me though.
I do a lot of stupid things sometimes, and some games I perform flawlessly, but some of the ######### that I see other Survivors do... I always check their ranks thinking they are brown/yellow in an SWF or something, then get to see they are Red Ranks, it makes me wonder how they breathe and walk at the same time.
