Chewed Pen Never Showing Up

So I started putting points into Ghostface when he first came out and I have almost all perks on him (never prestiged). One thing I have noticed is that I got a ton of chewed pens early on, but I literally NEVER see them anymore. I have gone through easily 20+ bloodwebs and have not seen a single one.

This leads to my question: am I just incredibly unlucky, or is this a mechanic I've never heard of where if you claim a certain addon repeatedly it will not show up again for a really long time. I've also noticed this happening on other killers (Freddy, Spirit) with other addons that I used to always pick up and now have not seen for ages.

Maybe the game wants me to prestige? I'm not sure, but any help would be greatly appreciated.

RNG, that's basically what it boils down to.

You could get 20 Ebony Memento Mori's in a row but not get a single Chewed Pen in your Blood-web, Prestige levels claim they boost you RNG chances of getting rarer add-ons and perks, but people have done research on that and concluded that the benefit is quite small unfortunately.

In a sense, if your RNG is good than you'll get all the perks, add-ons, and offerings you're looking for. If it's bad, than you'll have a harder time finding those perks, add-ons and offerings.

Like they said, just really bad luck. It took me like 30 bloodwebs after reaching 50 before I finally got a fragrant tuft of hair on myers. Also took me a few levels past 50 before I finally got a scratched mirror. Meanwhile on doctor, I have like 40 ebonys and like 30 Iridescent kings because I get one every level.

Sometimes the game just be like that with its shenanigans.

The RNG is either punishing or plentiful yeah, I wish prestiging did more with the RNG but sadly it doesn't.
