Shock therapy needs a cooldown
This is from a killer main: the new doctor is a slap in the face to Clown, freddy, hag etc
He can spam shock therapy to block pallets with zero consequences, it isn't fair, he should have 5 shocks available and then the need to reload.
He is a better Clown with also tracking and plenty of slowdown.
He should have max 5 shocks and a three seconds reload to top them up.

You do know that freedy is better than doc right ?, i dont understand why you put clown in this discussion he is the worst killer in the game, no1 should mention him.
You probably got rekt by a doc, it happens, move on.

No.

Because doc is a killer who can spam his ability with zero consequences. Every killer has consequences but not doc.
Anti loop, anti stealth and slowdown, his shock needs a limit, max 4 or 5.
2 -
Doc has to charge for two seconds, and then wait another second for the shock to actually go off. That's his cooldown.
38 -
if you think that makes it hard to use that's a funny joke..
0 -
Clown has similar issues and 4 bottles, freddy has 7 snares, doc needs a limited number of shocks
0 -
Learn to play around it. he's slowed while shocking and his shock takes a moment to actually hit you. Just drop the pallet early like Freddy or Clown
15 -
You can literally counter the shock by dropping the pallet early. This also slows Doctor down enough to get away, not as good as stunning, but he is meant to be able to stop you from using a pallet. From that point it's a simple "git gud"
8 -
Oof, there is a drawback to using the shock. It slows the doc down and gives the survivor more distance so that means spamming shocks will hurt the doc. So no. No cooldowns.

No

Anytime I get a doctor just spamming shock I love it, it's an easy win. You can loop them forever when they do that you just have to time it right and remember you can't vault for like a second or so, just time it so that you are getting shocked after instead of before the vaults, and cycle around as he wastes time charging.
Like honestly, this is one of the easiest things you can counter play as survivor, you are describing a bad doctor and saying that is OP; which obviously means the issue is what you are doing at loops.
1 -
Freddy doesn't have to slow down to place his snares, which means he needs another drawback, and Clown is known to be one of the weakest, if not actually the weakest, killers in the game. We shouldn't expect every killer to be balanced to the Clown's level.

What if I'm using Doc and while using Shock Therapy I already feel Cool and want to get Down?
3 -
Yup, this. If the survivor is running the loop correctly and doesn't pause at the pallet each time around, they'll be able to keep pace with the doctor perfectly if he's shocking every time the survivor gets to the pallet. You just have to know when to break off your loop and move to the next one when the doc decides to stop shocking.
1 -
Most killers have a drawback, the shock therapy doesn't it doesn't make sense, it needs to be limited
0 -
Freddy having 7 Snares is not really an argument, since he can overwrite them. And well, Clown has lost his right to exist when Freddy got reworked, since Freddy does everything what Clown does, is better at it AND can travel full Map away. Doctor being superior to Clown shows only how bad Clown is and not how much Doc needs a Cooldown.
Personally, at the moment, I think he is in a good spot. And Nerfs or Buffs should not be discussed until in a few months and I have the feeling that BHVR will also not do anything right now. Same with Freddies Slowdown Add Ons, those were a problem since the Rework, but BHVR took their time, so I guess we can discuss future Doc Changes when everyone has played enough as and vs new Doc and BHVR has more Data.
1 -
IT HAS A DRAWBACK. YOU SLOW DOWN TO A SNAILS PACE WHEN YOU CHARGE AND USE IT. THEREFORE IF USED INCORRECTLY, THE SURVIVOR WILL GET ANOTHER LOOP OUT OF YOU. Ffs, it's legit the worst idea ever to spam shocks.
4 -
I wouldn't say in a good spot, he is annoying to play against. I think it is already time for a revision
0 -
Doctor is fine doctor have a slowdown he move at 91% or even less while charging while having a delay of 1s. Freddy don't have slowdown while placing snares.
plus doctor only interraction lock you.
4 -
It uh.. already has a cooldown. 2.5 seconds before you can do anything after using it.
2 -
I mean, it's already been explained how to play against him. What more do you want?
0 -
I think it has quite the drawback considering that if a doc is spam shocking you then he's likely not catching up to or killing you.
1 -
And there it is. He's annoying, just like Ruin was annoying. Well folks, we're defintly in for a Legion type nerf to Doctor because he's annoying to play against!
7 -
Effective bait was effective
1 -
The difference between Doctor, Clown, Freddy, and Hag is that the doctor needs to charge up and use his power each time. With the rest of them you can M1 while your bottle/puddle/trap is doing it's own thing.
0 -
I'm amazed at how much I apparently suck with an OP killer like doc because the slowdown negates being able to catch a survivor before they can drop a pallet, yet I'm somehow a freaking savant with a trash killer like Clown cause I can get a hit at pretty much any pallet the survivor tries to loop by using the bottle to make it impossible to run around in time.
1 -
You can dodge his shocks

Doc is fun to play as and against. You made this thread so we can talk about it. Everybody here has a valid argument against yours but you just dont listen. DOC is good, the shook slows doc a lot, you cant attack for 3 seconds after you use it, you have to wait 2 seconds to charge it and another second for it to actual shock people. Stop complaining if you are just bad playing against him. I read all your comments and you just keep it your way, you are wrong here, not us.
1 -
No.

This is the kind of baby post that gets killers that are in a good spot nerfed into the ground. Get better and play with friends and you'll see how bad he still is.
3 -
I can see your point, but I feel like if anything was changed about Shock Therapy, the ability will get screwed up from the Killer’s perspective. The three-second cooldown from the PTB was already bad enough, so just try to adapt to Doc’s shocks.
Throw down pallets early, avoid staying at loops for too long, keep your distance to avoid getting shocked since not many people run the range add-ons anymore.

Honestly, they didn't fix what was annoying. Annoying whispers growling in your ears constantly, the shocks flashing randomly, the random skillcheck placement... It's all annoying as hell.
Playing against him is no better or worse than before. Possibly worse thanks to yet another random mechanic in that reverse skillcheck that happens from time to time with a certain add-on.
Playing as him, however definitely feels better. His abilities are both easier to use and require better timing. I find him more fun to play as, but now I run calm spirit every game thanks to him and the popularity of infectious fright.

I'll pass..we need more good killers, not less..the devs are already planning on limiting killer perk interaction for crying out loud...
1 -
Playing vs is awful, even more annoying lots of screaming, I'm fairly sure he will get a nerf soon, also otz predicted it
0 -
Oh I agree on the points about the skillcheck placements and flashing. It's unneeded in my opinion, or at least have an option for the flashing since it feels like it's the only thing in the game like that, and people who are sensitive to that sort of thing can find it dangerous. The counter-clockwise skillchecks I don't mind. They add a challenge of unknown to him.
0 -
I find it less challenging and more annoying. The game needs less RNG, not more. If it made the skillchecks smaller, now that adds challenge instead of merely randomly maybe being annoying sometimes.
0 -
That would be a better choice for sure. Heck, even bait skillchecks with a sound, but no skillcheck appears. Since the Doc is about insanity, it would work. You'd think you were hearing a skillcheck, but in reality, it was the madness.
1 -
Now that's a fantastic idea. Phantom sounds. We already get ones for terror radius based on madness. Why not others?
0 -
I'm sorry but no he doesn't. His shock isn't that hard to play around.
2 -
Except someone would find THAT annoying. Ultimately, theres someone out there for each killer that HATES facing that particular killer. You see threads on here from time to time asking "Which killer do you hate going against", to which pretty much every killer in the game is listed off. This doesnt mean those killers should be changed, just that people have their own opinions on things.
1 -
Pretty sure most don't risk giving someone an epileptic seizure though. Those flashes might.
0 -
Doc also causes massive fps drops on ps4, terrible.
0 -
you know doctor just got reworked .... to make him stronger or abit better and you want his power to have a cooldown. lmao. im going to try him now in game see what all the fuss is about lol .... you know. if want killers to quit completely. a cooldown on all their powers is the way to go ... i hardly ever play maybe a few games once in a blue moon. but i read things like this and i cant help but roll my eyes

Oh boy.
- He moves much slower than a Survivor while charging the shock.
- You can dodge the shock
- You can drop pallets early.
- Freddy is stronger than Doc. He can easily replace his snares. Bad comparison.
- Clown being limited to four bottles and having to reload shows how bad he is, not that Doctor's OP. Unless you want every Killer to be on the same level as Clown?
- Get good.
Is there not a warning before like every video game that says to be careful if you have epileptic seizures?
0 -
They said in a live stream the 2 second cool down was too much and that's why they got the current one.
0 -
no, his shock is counterable, learned today playing against new doc for the first time, so git gud
3 -
I smell survivor entitlement in this thread.
6 -
Hag also has no cooldown.
And every killer is a better than Clown anyway.
Doctor is not that strong really.
0 -
Doc already has a cooldown on his shock therapy
0 -
All you have to do is drop the pallet early just like Clown. There's no need for a nerf.
